  1. I doubt that: I'd expect the parts to come sorted by colour, just like they are produced by colour. But I did have a chuckle imaging a robot searching through a bin of various pieces hunting for that one stubborn f**er just like I did as a child :D
  2. I'm not reading this as such: skateboards like that (I believe the proper term should be "longboard") are quite common for the last few years (so it's easy to get one), but crucially: they have the perfect surface for climbing :)
  3. Any ideas what the 42126 could be? (sorry: I'm too lazy to read back the whole topic)
  4. This sounds likely to me. The fully rc gearbox in 42114 is its main selling point IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to take it up a notch (also: the high price is most likely driven by more motors).
  5. There's also the Lego boost cat as well as Lego boost + Ninjago dragon thingy. Both feature credible animal movements using Lego engines.
  6. Looks great! Really captured the spirit!
  7. Sorry if it's been written earlier in the thread, but what happens on November 18?
  8. The English names in this thread's first post says "off-road vehicle" while the German name is listed as "geländewagen". Now, I'm neither native English not German speaker, but AFAIK, in the English-speaking world, the word "geländewagen" is typically associated with a specific brand & model. So, before I start a gossip, a question to German-speakers out there: how generic is that term? Simple googling appears equally biased towards that brand...
  9. Wait, what's wrong with Sian's gearbox,?
  10. Uhm, so... if Technicallism has some info, maybe the 2021 thread could get reopened?
  11. When I don't have tweezers lying around I sometimes use a paper tissue, fold it a few times and put some water on it for the grip.
  12. Looks like the few folks who already got the set don't share this problem. Few things that you might want to try: 1. Contact LEGO customer support. The anecdotal evidence is they tend to be very helpful with issues like that. 2. Get the black pins from box 2 and repeat the process when you run out: if the missing pieces are in another box, you'll find them eventually. 3. Interview your family, friends and pets on their whereabouts during the time you opened the box 1 :D
  13. I think 42070 didn't go through the bags sequentially. I vaguely recall having lay out all the bags every time for an evening building session (~1-2h each).
  14. That's an interesting comparison :) I can see how the patches of orange persuade you away from militaristic associations, but the placement seems a bit arbitrary.
  15. I'm surprised this subjects keeps being brought up: The colour coding brings down the number of mistakes during the build. Everyone makes them: in this forum, you can find references to experienced builders like Jim or sariel having made mistakes during build. So maybe the thinking is that adults can handle the frustration from having to redo some steps? That is also not true: given a large enough set of builders, they will be on average less happy with the experience.
