[REVIEW] 42131 - CAT D11T Bulldozer
lee1980 replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think id prefer this to Liebherr when it reduced some, but still have Liebherr in box! They do seem to be getting bigger and more expensive as same for all Lego. When i was around 10 in 1990, my Nan would usually get me a Lego set for xmas/bday as my bday is on 27th December. Back then I think sets were around £100 max for technic sets, there is inflation to but can imagine now out of reach of a lot of kids that would like and I know its says 18 but sure many could build still. I guess some may prefer to an ipad say to is £300-400! -

Show us your Working Place/LEGO room
lee1980 replied to Edwin Korstanje's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I have a small side table i pull out to build on, no room as such, houses here in UK are not huge well not for us. I am lucky in that can have Lego and Technic on display in the extension we did a few years ago. This is the cinema/play room also. -

Future Set Wishes and Speculation
lee1980 replied to SheepEater's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yeah a truck or similar like size of super cars but a smaller scale, technic under with system body like creator cars. I imagine most want both, with technic under for features show are similar to real and outer looking realistic. I do wonder what will come out next from lego/technic! -

[REVIEW] 42113 - Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey
lee1980 replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I initially thought would not get this as have the jet plane un-built, this looks so good though, is big and have no where to display but what a great set of functions to. Shame no good talking about as cancelled!!! -
42110 - Land Rover Defender
lee1980 replied to 1gor's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I am up to build stage where transmission is complete and it feels overall good just a bit stiff in some gears, agree some of the steps are very hard see what is going on! I need to check if used right grey small gear as mentioned on previous page! its sure one crazy chassis crammed with everything, the HOG steering seems to be very precise which is nice. -

I think the numbered bags are a great idea and I just open all of one number in a tray and go from there, finding the pieces means it takes longer! and enjoy build longer lol. Its on back order here in UK shipping 8th June, now a limit of 1, which i would of thought it should be 1 per order everywhere. I for sure at the moment cannot stretch to 1, never bought 2 of any set. I have lego mandolrian on order to when its released. If we get out holiday deposit back will be getting one though sooner! I still have quite a few sets to build and am still working so not have any extra time either! -

I like it, but think will wait a bit and get when a bit less money, I do find it strange how MOC and others can usually do a better job with mods after etc, but I guess each element on this is done down to a price etc. I have not ever modded any of mine but can see the appeal. -

I for one can't wait, I don't expect and lego/technic to be as good as a scale model, i enjoy building more than anything and then do display. Only really show functions when others come around. I do feel overall the site have gotten bigger and more expensive so much and it must be mainly AFOL's buying, as when i was 12 etc would not of got any of these bigger sets. I think the 18+ thing is good for this reason. I just hope it comes in down in price as i will as Porsche and Chirron did eventually. -

I am liking and am glad didn't get Chirron, but would still like if had space! I guess in pounds this is going to be £300+ at first! -

So no new info on TLG Sian lol, for me now most go on display and these more expensive cars will never be played with much as such, but does seem mad that owners can often get things working better than TLG with mods to after! -

MMMMmmm liking it, I recently built the Porsche and that was great, was not sold on Bugatti and need to be careful as space and funds are low! but this will no doubt be needed to make space for! what about the engine!!! -

Sounds like its getting a serious slating since I looked on this thread on Friday not read all posts lol, I think with every new lego or technic there is always something one thinks why did they do that or not do that, but imagine all sorts of reasons as to why. I will be waiting until a better price to. Will be hoping steindrucker does printed pieces to. -

I did think with Porsche because of the number plate it be limited, as I thought that was the whole point of it, but it must be over a year since I got my Porsche reduced and its still on sale! -

It seems to happen with everything now, even if you are not looking for it. Back in the day with like RC models etc or games we had to wait until see any news in magazines etc or actually at the store. Lego new sets would only ever be seen when actually in the store! Whilst its great to be able to find anything instantly, I do think for me personally its almost like to much information is to hand easily. To much knowledge in some ways and now I find I have to many hobbies in some ways lol. On the tamiya forum, an un-booking and showing features vid was posted, but hosted on FB. It does look really good in the vid, the key to raise/lower spoiler is neat. -

I didn't think it would look so good to be honest, but my, I should wait until its been on sale a while and bound to be reduced at some point to. Anyone know overall size of it built? guess in similar scale to Porsche? This won't be limited or anything. I got the Porsche for a decent price in the end to. Though along with UCS MFC still in the box!! -
Technic 2018 Set Discussion
lee1980 replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I do feel in last 15 years or so we have been spoiled almost as information is so freely available before things are actually released. Remember the days when I had to wait for monthly magazine to see all new stuff, now I don't buy any magazines hardly as by time get its old news, only buy if have an article want to read. Its same now from motorbikes to cars, RC models and Lego, also with films to much is known to soon and trailers show to much! Have seen leaked pics and all look pretty cool I need to decide on what to get this year lol!! -
