Interested to see what print is on Pinjata boys torso. As a Western theme collector he will fit in nicely with a few part changes.

A cowboy hat with hair!

From the images I've seen for TLM2 sets....no love for the Wild West
-
With Red Dead being so popular I'd be hoping for some flow into CMF

Thanks for the pics! I always enjoy seeing the themes grouped together

@Steampunk Sheriff Where did you get that torso on your avatar?
70594 The Lighthouse Siege.

I will use the arms from the outriders to do so. Maybe the torso and head will look good under that cool spider headpiece as well.
Now if only they release that neckbrace with arms from the outriders in red (and the arms in brown and flesh) we can make a decent man spider and doppleganger.
Doppelganger would be awesome! I think Man Spider is closer to black than brown. At least from what i remember from way back in the 90s. Chima had a decent spider head in brown tho

Howdy! Fantastic review as always. Could I trouble you for a group shot of all the western minifigures released so far?

Man Spider custom?

Yeah I recon if you plan on reviewing a minifigure series you might want to do the basics like remove hats, helmets and accessories

I thought so as well until the actual product photos

I don't mind the cat but a lion would have been cooler. Have the face open so it can double as an unofficial cowardly lion.

To make a faithful update of the minifigure on the right, the one on the left should have been wearing mostly grey with black pants and a red bow tie. Updated to modern standards, of course, but faithful to the classic. So printing a belt and holster would be appropriate, as would using the newer cowboy hat and mustache molds. The mustache should have been black, however, and the hat grey...
I'd like to see updated versions of classic characters myself.
I consider the Forestman to work well on this level as it is pretty faithful to the original, while being a more generic color in place of the black / blue / red. A shield with a Stag would have been nice to complete the look, but they eventually gave one to the Elf, so I suppose that's OK.
I don't consider the Black Falcon minifigure from the Kingdoms line to be a good update, however, because they made his accent color green rather than the blue or yellow of the classic. He does have gold accents as well, which could be representative of the yellow, but they are mostly hidden under his armor or in the saddle. It's primarily the feather that bothers me. The shield is great in this case, though. And that's probably my favorite barding.
Classic minifigure reissues like the Policeman are nice, though. I like the homage to the original LEGO minifigure. But perhaps he should have been in a polybag with a mini build of his car rather than the CMF series. Still, I'd love a series of 16 Classic Spacemen in colors that were never available. How about dark purple? Dark turquoise? Dark red? Or other non-dark colors like magenta...Yeah this. That's what I meant. Thank you

There's also "tribals", tribals, tribals, cowgirl, prospector,
What we have here is new characters based on classic western tropes. What I was suggesting, if Lego were to continue with adding a classic throwback, that I'd like to see a re-release of the classic established and well know design of the old western minifigs.
Now this is either a place where a fan can discuss his opinions or this is a place where you get shot down if you do. Better to read and understand the intention before making assumptions I recon.

I like the concept of the classic cop just not the execution. If that torso has never seen a print and was only a sticker then by all means make it a CMF but surely it could have been its own 40th Set with the car? Or give him a cop design wearable car like the race car. And update the head. I'd love a CMF series that has an update of classic figs with new updated prints and faces. Classic Sheriff, Classic Cowboy, Bandits, Cavalry and all those western classics would be a welcome addition.

I figure yellow should have been the colour of them there MF bases. That being the good ol' classic smiley head colour. And being the minifigure anniversary and all. Heck, I'm surprised they didn't stamp it as such. 40th stamp or Lego stamp. Even Batman got a branding.

Howdy folk! First post, long time drifter. Thought I'd mosey on in and give my opinion.
That there cowboy is an obvious choice for me. Great looking dude with a fantastic comical hoss. I recon his duds look a little like Woody in the vest and I hope the back of the torso continues the print. Its a might unfortunate the side of the torso doesn't match the vest tho.
I like how the hooves are printed on the legs too.
Now that Cactus girl could sure be useful in my western town. Maybe she can partner up with the tree dude.
Animal theme costumes also crack my whip so I will be on the trail looking for cat and elephant to add to the others. I may as well snap up that spider critter too. Thankfully the elephant can be removed from that attire.
The cop gives me hope they might do the same for the classic western sheriff but I'd like a more modern noggin to really be an update and not just a rehash.
All in all, series 18 gets a yeeeeha! from me.
