10317 Land Rover Classic Defender Discussion

That price is a thing. Nice to see them put the steering wheel on the correct side though. Would have to see it side by side with the Technic version before I’m completely sold on it

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?

Just pre-ordered the new Executor. Will go nicely next to the UCS version. I'd be happy with more capital ships in that scale.
  3. UCS X-Wing in May and Sail Barge later in the year would definitely be top picks for me. The wallet would be taking a hit though.
  4. Same pattern with the UCS AT-AT and separate Hoth AT-ST. I’m pretty certain a Skiff will be an additional set then people can decide if they want one or two. It would make minifig choice interesting though. If people wanted two skiffs would they really want more duplicates of the common minifigs? Although I don’t predict many complaints about there being more Boba Fett figs out there.
  5. I’d say the UCS AT-AT is just over half tiled. Lots of exposed studs. Agree with you about it not being the final design but not for the reason you said.

    UCS 75313 AT-AT Modding

I was going to make a dedicated thread just for my own ideas but it's probably better to have a general mod thread for this glorious piece of Empire equipment. I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered but I already have ideas of how to add more to it. There was a very brief discussion about bringing the AT-AT up to Canon specification. I have decided that is what I'm going to do with mine. With the addition of 3 more speeders and 35 more Snowtroopers, the vehicle will have it's full complement of troops but what about the rest of the listed specs? I'm getting all my information from wookiepedia: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/All_Terrain_Armored_Transport_(Galactic_Civil_War) I don't think there is a more comprehensive source for Star Wars trivia. There is seating for 40 troops in addition to the crew but it seems that Lego have forgotten about a couple of crucial crew members. Each AT-AT comes with it's own engineer and loadmaster. I've chosen an Imperial Ground Crew Technician minifig to represent the engineer and an Imperial Gunner to represent the loadmaster. The next crew member not included with the set is the AT-AT Commander. I know General Veers is included but was he commanding the actual AT-AT? He was in charge of all the AT-ATs and troops on the battlefield, would the AT-AT have had it's own separate commander in addition to Veers? I think so and have added an Imperial Commander with battle armour to my list of figures to buy. Next we come to the weaponry included with the set. At least 20 E-11 blaster rifles[8] At least 5 DLT-20A blaster rifles[8] I'm not sure exactly what comes with the set and battlepacks yet but I'll make sure I have enough firepower for all the troops on board. The next item that stands out is this: LX-4 proton mines (25) This is an item I've not heard of and obviously hasn't been recreated in Lego so it's something I've had to imagine up. I've found this image which seems to match the description. The AT-AT has 25 of them according to the specs. I think they would all fit on a rack in the lower part of the main hold and would look something like this: Once the set arrives I'll be checking to see if there is anything to represent a sensor array and terrain scanners and I'll be working out how to fit in another speederbike The next question will be how to display it. I have a strong feeling that a Snowspeeder will be involved!

LEGO lighting kit Back to the Future DeLorean

Is the Brixmax kit worth the money for this set? It seems to be double the price of the other light kits for the same set. I've got this set and Ecto1 10274 to light up and just wondering which are the best light kits to go for.

    LEGO Atari 2600 Set

I know what you mean. This is definitely a display piece. I remember playing with one as a kid so I have the memory factor tempting me. The price is just too much. If you wanted a 2600 on display you can buy an original working one for less money than this set. Personally I think they should have left out the opening section and possibly the mini builds and priced it at the same original cost of the 2600 when it came out. I like the cartridges though, definitely possibilities of making more games if someone made sticker sets for them.

Looks to be pretty similar sized to one I made. I'm happy to share build details if you want.

    10302 Optimus Prime Rumors

For the more seasoned collectors, our hands may not be as steady as they once were so not having to deal with stickers is a bonus.

    10302 Optimus Prime Rumors

Hopefully this is the first of many sets in the Transformers line. The UCS style branding & pricing suggests that there are going to be more sets in this scale. Brickheadz and Star Wars style Helmets also have potential as sets. The big question is would they ever make them in System scale. The amount of potential there is huge. There's also the minifigure side of things. Kreo did attempt them, would Lego succeed where they failed.

    10302 Optimus Prime Rumors

Not all license deals will be of the same value. Habros biggest competitor in the Toy market is Lego. For them to allow them to use one of their most popular brands must have come at considerable cost. Hasbro will be making as much profit as Lego out of this deal. Disney licensing is also on the high side too compared to the ones you listed. I can't see them making a G1 Megatron for the reasons you gave. Even Starscream is unlikely as the G1 version was a combat aircraft. Soundwave is more likely and as a fan I would be interested in owning that set if it's made. The only other main non military Decepticons are the Constructicons and Insecticons. G1 TF fans who owned the toys in the 80s are all in their 40s and 50s now. It's a Prime market with disposable income.

    10302 Optimus Prime Rumors

This is a day 1 purchase for me. I know it's heavy on the price side, understandable with the license though. For pure childhood nostalgia I have to own this. I already own a version of Prime made by another brand but to actually have an officially licensed version is fantastic. I've seen a review where they mentioned the obvious lack of trailer. That could be an epic MOC. I'd probably just try and make a better name plate stand that can hold the accessories not in use depending on how it is being displayed. That's my ringtone!

    Star Wars

Precisely why I avoid all Star Wars trailers. They get over analysed, fans expect certain things to happen and then get disappointed when they don't. Could still be Maul

    Star Wars

Firstly I'll start by saying I haven't seen the trailer for Kenobi. I never watch any Star Wars trailers, I like the first viewing of a film or series to be the first time I see the footage. Obviously I know all the talk is of Vader & the Inquisitors. I'm wondering how does Maul fit in to this? Are we going to get a live action recreation of Maul coming to Tattooine? His survival is canon in the movies as seen in Solo so I'm definitely expecting a Ray Park cameo at some point.

Questions about Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga??

Have you seen the recent gameplay trailer? This looks like a total rebuild of the gameplay. It's nothing like the original Lego Star Wars or even the other Lego games. It's a completely new game engine and perspective. It's more 3rd person open world style gameplay but set in the Saga universe including sets from all the films including Rogue One and Solo. If it plays as good as it looks it's going to be absolutely fantastic. I can see why it's taken so long to make it. I've got the deluxe edition pre-ordered. Should have it in a couple of weeks.
  17. That is some impressive bridge work. As an engineer myself I would be all over this kind of set. Definitely supporting this!

Mainman's Lego AN-225 Mriya Cargo Plane

We could definitely rule out System scale. It would be an absolute monster that no one could fit in a city so it would be have to be primarily a display set. Even at 1:200 you would only just get it on a shelf with a 40cm wing span. I suppose the question is how small can it be made and still keep the detail.
  19. SquirrelArmy

Mainman's Lego AN-225 Mriya Cargo Plane

A Lego wingspan of 80cm. That would take up some serious shelf space, would you get the detail in a smaller scale though?

Mainman's Lego AN-225 Mriya Cargo Plane

Glad there was already topic on this. I don't want to trigger a discussion on the conflict in Ukraine but rather a conversation on this aircraft in particular. It's apparent destruction is a loss to the aviation world. It's last flight was actually from Billund to Kyiv taking aid to Ukraine. I've just seen a rumour that Lego could be making this into a set. Is there any truth in this? I would certainly be interested especially if proceeds were donated to helping those affected by the conflict.

Questions about Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga?

My pre-order has been updated to show the date. The minifig looks like it could be worth more than the cost of the game.

Questions about Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga?

Looks like it is finally happening. There's a partial gameplay trailer out and you can pre-order it now as well to get an exclusive Luke Blue Milk minifig. It seems to be more 3rd person based and a lot more open world than the previous titles. This could be something special, no wonder it's taken so long.

General LEGO Star Wars Discussion and Questions

4 troopers per battlepack. 5 troopers included in the set. (40-5)/4 = 9 battle packs to fill it. The issue there is you also have to think about the speeder bikes. There's only room for 4. I feel like most people would only really want to be buying two battle packs and then sourcing additional figures elsewhere if they wanted to fill it. I'm planning on buying 3 battle packs which will take the troop complement to 17 including the figures that come with the set. I've already bought the additional troopers on bricklink to make it up to the capacity of 40. If you want your troops to be seated with helmets on then you'll have to source the rarer troops with the brick-built backpacks.

    Issue with UCS AT-AT!!!

I have built my AT-AT now using my "fix" I can see why they chose the method they did to assemble the legs in that way. My method does have very simple disassembly but getting the elements to stay in place while attaching the legs took a little bit of extra work. I had to add a temporary yellow bush to keep the sub assembly in place while I mounted it on to the body I then had to remove that bush and attach the other liftarm with one hand while keeping the axle sub assembly pushed into place. The final result looks fine and dis-assembly will be easy to do but it was definitely fiddly to accomplish.
