42120 Rescue Hovercraft [VIDEO REVIEW]
Akbalder replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic and Model Team
Thanks for the review. What's happening with the tire rubber? Is it the quality of the piece or is there too much friction? I think that the comparison with set 42076 which is more than twice as expensive isn't very fair. -
Are the reviews supposed to be available tomorrow?
-
The set is now on the Lego shop.
-
Why did you buy it at this price? I thought that you had the Osprey.
-
The 42100 is fun to play with but it isn't the most interesting to build (the gears are only here to increase torque). If this set is fully RC with a gearbox to switch between functions (as the Volvo truck), it could be a good mix. With 4 motors, I guess that it will be 2 motors for tracks, 1 motor for powering the functions, 1 motor for selecting the functions. Almost 7000 pieces seems to be a lot. Didn't they say that 4000 was about the max possible. That it would be too heavy with more pieces?

It's very nice to see some B models. Next step should be to restart putting printed instructions in the box for these B models.

Hello, Here is a very small moc. This buggy is a C model of the set 42104 (Race truck). Hope you like it. EDIT: The instructions are available for free on rebrickable.
-
I've created the model in Studio (first time using a Lego digital designer) and created the instructions. They are available for free on rebrickable.

Thank you for your comments.

No special functionalities for the Zetros? What could explain that it is more expensive than the Volvo truck?

Maybe someone here can help me. I can't connect my phone to the hub! When I switch on the hub, it flashes white for 10 seconds but it is never detected by the app. I'm using Android, the bluetooth is on and I tried the Control+ and the Power Up apps. Any idea about what I can do to try to solve this issue? EDIT: I've reset all my network settings on my phone and it worked! I don't know what was wrong...

It's the same price as the Liebherr! It has to have something more than C+ to be more interesting than the Liebherr. I hoped for a less expensive set with only one motor and pneumatics.
-
How much would cost the pieces without the hub and motors?
-
The video says "new tires for better grip". I don't know if they are talking about the kind of rubber used.
-
Yes but it would be cheaper to not have to buy the electronic parts for each C+ set. It would be a bit like mario where you buy the electronic part only once in the starter pack.
-
It looks very nice but 130€ is too expensive ! Lego should sell the control+ set with the electronic separated. It would allow us to buy the hub and motors only once and reuse them in different sets.
-
I don't see what Mindstorms would bring compared to control+. The sensors aren't very useful for a car.
-
The B models are limited to the very small sets. It may be worst than last year because the licensed Corvet set had a B model but the McLaren and the Jeep don't have one.
-
The buggy looks quite nice but it is very expensive for so few pieces. It's a better C+ set than the top gear one but that's not very hard.
-
A leak of a Mindstorm Porsche appeared. It's very close to what we see in technic sets.
-
It's an offroad vehicle. It could be a new version of 42095.
-
Could the Ferrari be a formula 1? It would explain why the parts count is low for a 18+ set.
-
The Ferrari may have motors to be that expensive.

42113 Osprey, Mods and improvements

The torque of the new motors isn't the same. Could the problem be because the set was designed for the old motor? -
I think that it is impressive when one motor can do everything (when it works). It's one of the reason why I really liked 42055. And it seems more interesting to build a gearbox that putting multiple motors in a set.
