  1. The car weighs ~ 2900 gram. I don't have two scales so I can't check reliably how the weight distribution is. What I did do was to put the front wheels on my scale and support the rear wheels so the car was level, and then turned it around. The indicated weight was 1460 g for the front and 1420 g for the rear. With regard to the sagging of the front suspension I was thinking if you can pré-tension the springs by lowering the attachment points by ~ 0.5 stud this would solve the issue. If you look at the back suspension which works fine even though the springs are at a greater angle the distance between the attachment points of the springs is significantly shorter then for the front suspension.
  2. The connectors appear fairly simple. If TLG doesn't release a splitter/stacker for it I'm sure somebody else will (e.g. Vengit). The fact that the cables contains 6 wires is to me actually more interesting. I'm sure that somebody will figure out a way to use the app to control minstorms sensors/motors (I'm hoping TLG will do this for us, however I think that is an unrealistic wish considering the fact that the connector is not the same as for mindstorms).
  3. I very much like the fact that there is an axle hole through the valve. Makes it much easier to have remote control of the pneumatic functions when you're building something. Just couple it to an EV3 motor and you can exactly set the valve to the desired position. This should make building remotely controlled, pneumatically operated excavators etc. much easier. Or if you combine it with a second EV3 motor you could build automatically extending outriggers that first go out and when reaching the end position the pneumatic valve is switched to lower the outriggers (and stop the outriggers from extending further). I think such a construction could be much more sturdy then the one that is used on the 42009.
  4. I'm taking Friday off and getting this set. I MUST have those new orange gear selector wheels. Put several on a long axle and you can make synchronous switching of several functions/motors possible in a simple way. I'm thinking this can be a nice way to switch between normal and crab steering for multi-axle vehicles. On the down side, why blue gears? And why brown 8L axles or orange bushes and 3L pin (Yeah, I know, they're not new, but I don't have any of those yet)? AAARGHHH I'm running out of storage bins already!!!
  5. Thanks, I couldn't find them. Guess I didn't use the right search words. So, those parts are then also just new color combinations.
  6. I had a look at the part list of the 42078 MACK truck. As far as I can determine there are only three completely new parts. First is the hood ornament, which is a dog on a 1 length axle pin. The color is a bit difficuilt to describe, but I'm guessing it's Pearl Gold. The other two are 1 * 2 Tile, Modified & sloped (items 6204667 & 6204668 in the attached cropped pic from the building instructions). I tried finding these designs but I couldn't find them anywhere so I think this really are new designs. Has anybody seen these designs before? If so, what is the design number of those parts? Besides these there are also a few parts which are made in a color combination that as far as I could determine has not been used before, these are: 32316 - Liftarm 1 * 5 Thick in Green 3069b - Tile 1 * 2 with Groove in Metallic Silver 24201 - Slope, curved 2 * 1 Inverted in Dark Bluish Gray There are also two types of tiles that have some print on them and hence are unique/new: 2431 - Tile 1 * 4 with Pattern in Metallic Silver 2431 - Tile 1 * 4 with "MACK" Pattern in Dark Bluish Gray
  7. Mine arrived per mail order yesterday from conrad.nl. Just finished building it It's a nice build. Not overly complicated so it will not scare off novice builders but still interesting enough for more experienced builders. A very nice detail that is included is in the cabin. The steering wheel in the cabin actually moves when you steer the truck. All the moving parts function as designed and overall the appearence is quite good. The proportions look right. Nothing seems "too big" or "too small".
  8. I haven't seen any of these sets yet in any physical stores yet. Also most online stores either don't have them or list them as "not available yet" or the like. The Mack Anthem is listed on the Canadian site of LEGO with release date of January 1st for 229 CAD$ (other regions on the lego site don't have it listed yet). I also found it on one site that claims they have it on stock. They usually ship their stuff quite fast so I expect to get it before the newyear :) Edit: the LEGO US site also lists the 420178 with a release date of Jan. 1st
  9. I used to have the 850-1 forklift, always loved all the yellow construction sets :) Can hardly wait to get my hands on this new one. Damn, if the turntable is really made out of the BWE quarters then it's got to be a HUGE crane. Love it already, will be adding it to my collection at the earliest possibility. Does anyone know when these sets will actually be released? The H1 sets are in my view less interesting (except for the 42078 which I just ordered).
