No it's not. Boba Fett leaked in January and Cloud City is out in September. 8 months. Ollivander in April and add 8 months and you got December. It's like poetry it rhymes ;) I expect more minifigs leaks in October

Way too early for minifigures to leak from a Summer set. Ollivander is the key to all of this.

I would say it's the most anticipated SW set in the last almost decade. It's the holy grail of Lego. Future Lego Star Wars Sets would be a good thread to take a look at. Getting back on track with Diagon Alley, I see a release date close to Christmas could happen. If I remember correctly back in 2011 the last Diagon Alley was released around the Holiday season by itself and not of a particular wave. Maybe the same idea here. There is precedent. The problem is getting hands on it could be very hard. That would look very nice under the Christmas tree...

That's an amazing find, really praying that it is indeed system scale. I don't want microscale to become the norm.

I don't see Chamber happening right now. I understand putting it under Great Hall but wouldn't the Whomping Willow set need something underneath it as well so it wouldn't be floating in mid air? I would love a huge Chamber that extends to both sides but I don't see it. And where would we put the Willow itself? What I do see is a Girl's Bathroom to recreate COS, GOF, and HBP scenes with Polyjuice Harry, Polyjuice Ron, Moaning Myrtle, Hermione, and Ginny alongside a DADA classroom with Lockhart and Lupin and some pixies and a Dementor as the next extension.

Yeah but Star Wars has new movies coming out every year which brings in alot of new set ideas. And actually in recent years we got some much needed updates like Yoda's Hut and Vader Transformation. Star Wars also has TV Series (Clone Wars Saved) and other mediums such as videogames and comics to do sets on as well. HP doesn't have that advantage it's a limited world. Remember Star Wars comes out three times a year compared to once. Of course they will be remakes. And there are already more new non release sets than Harry Potter: Snoke's Throne Room, Ahch-To Training, Hoth Medical Chamber, Han Solo Speeder, UCS Y Wing. Then some much needed remakes like Yoda's Hut and Cloud City. And you can't remake a train every 4 years there won't be enough changed to warrant purchase. It's not like X Wings where you can build a whole squadron out of them. I give HP one more wave for sure, two more about 25/75 chance. Indiana Jones will take its place in 2020. Honestly as long as we get key POA and GOF sets next wave I'll be content and won't complain if the line ends there. I'm not really a fan of anything past 4 besides Half Blood Prince.

Yes there are 8 movies but they all revolve around Hogwarts. It's rare they leave. The only other places they go that are recognizable to casuals are The Burrow, Diagon Alley, Ministry of Magic, and Privet Drive for HP. No way we are getting a Xenophilus house or something of that nature. So let's break it down for example; Summer 2019 (3/4): Hagrid's Hutt(POA with Buckbeak) Graveyard Duel Knight Bus Hogwarts Extension: DADA office/Girl's Bathroom where Harry opens the egg. Maybe throw the Horntail in there. Shrieking Shack Summer 2020 (5/6): Cave With Inferi Ministry of Magic HE: Astronomy Tower/Room of Requirements/Umbridge Office The Burrow Weasley Emporium/Ollivander's Summer 2021(7 1&2): Gringott's Bank Forbidden Forest HE: Hogwarts Bridge Defense akin to 2011 Farewell To Privet Drive 4 years that pretty much covers the basics and then some. Anything beyond these won't sell well and be too obscure. I would have put Chamber but I don't think we are getting one (Shock me Lego, I needed a suprise). I would like the Second Task and Yule Ball but I don't see those happening. Temporary yes, but I give it 4 years tops. Not every year at least for HP like Star Wars. It's a pipe dream at best for evergreen.

I one hundred percent agree. I don't see a winter wave happening but Summer I think for sure. Unlike others here, I don't see HP as an evergreen theme. Not because of popularity but there is a limit on how much sets you can make. Various parts of Hogwarts, Ministry Of Magic, The Burrow, the three tasks, Diagon Alley, Knight Bus, and Priver Drive will take five years max. Not enough locations to be honest. Another reason why I think Lego is waiting is they shoehorned alot of characters in the first wave just in case another wave doesn't happen. Just hope for at least one more wave to get Sirius, Wormtail, and Lockhart. This is why Star Wars is evergreen, it has a huge universe. But I don't mind once a year, I have major interest in Star Wars and Ninjago as well so I can send some money that way. Also Indiana Jones 5 might bring some remakes as well. On a different topic I walked into Wal-Mart today to buy the Riddler Racer and I saw the HP sets at lower costs. Both Willow and Express were 10 dollars cheaper interestingly enough.

So do we think we are getting a January Wave or waiting till Summer? Because if it's for Summer we got ways to go. I don't remember the names leaking till December of last yesr and the descriptions were BS. And we didn't anything about the Hogwarts Express till the press release. As for Quidditch Lesson, maybe a battlepack? I wouldn't put any faith in leaks just quite yet. Lego is wisely putting their cards to its chest.

Young Hermione is such a good fig an honorable mention. It's literally the only one that looks like Hermione in whole history of the line, even the CMF comes short.

Since we have no news on the horizon for the forseeable future, let's have a no holds barred, take no prisoner, roundtable discussion. Which are you top five minifigs thus far? Mine: 1) Invisibility Cloak Harry 2) Neville 3) Lupin 4) Harris Dumbledore 5) Mad Eye Moody/Quirell Go!

LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!
RODDY replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I hope we don't have the same problem as last year with the Falcon.... It's oddly the same day. I bet we get a reveal on Aug 14 or around there if MF was precedent. -
My vote goes to WW/GH. The two sets although they are playsets work very well as display as well. And at least to me the figure selection is way better especially with the CMF. You get Quirell, Dumbledore, Hagrid, McGongal, Trewlaney, Lupin (if you buy HE), Flitwick, Snape, Filch, Madeye. And then you add Hooch, Umbridge, and Slughorn and you got a decent sized teaching staff. There is no exclusives except Bellatrix. And while the founders are cool where are you going to put them? And to me the detailing on the nanos are atrocious. And with more sets coming the possibilities are endless, the D2C is just a one time thing. There is no continuation or progress which I love about the modulars: Just watching the castle grow and improve over time would be neat. I feel like the D2C is too crammed and not spacious. I also recommend adding Aragogs Lair to the side as well it looks nice.

One hundred percent agree. I think the two sets would be Diagon Alley (Ollivander) and Shrieking Shack since we already have the WW connection and that Sirius Black figure.

I think people are getting minifig scale and system scale mixed up. They want the scale that the Great Hall is . What people wanted from the D2C was a big extension to the aforementioned sets. And I do hope we do get all of the rooms in the set in system scale eventually. I'd buy Chamber, Winged Snare, DADA Office, Library, Chessboard, Umbridge's Office, Dumbledore's Office, Girl's Bathroom and what not.

I saw a post on Reddit and someone got a hold of them. I don't know specifics though. And I still find it odd that we are getting every DADA teacher besides Lockhart. Even Slughorn. He has to be somewhere with Ollivander. There is something we don't know about...

Looks really nice, happy for everyone getting. I hope we get that second half in system scale eventually. Those minifigs are what I want especially Gryffindor. Might buy them seperate. Though nice it's not even close to most desired set. I'm probably going to get Cloud City or Ninjago Docks since I already have a nice dose of Harry Potter.

Best sets in years you won't regret buying them. There are so many cool new pieces and sweet builds (love the Ford Angelia build in particular) that I had blast making them all. And color pallet is perfect it's not too much of one color. Combine GH, WW, AL you have a very nice display piece. The minifigs are sweet too. For their respective prices they are pretty big. My only gripe is finding a way to display the first three movie figs with the next three. It's gonna be weird having shorty Harry next to Cedric and Luna in my Hogwarts display. Buy evey set you can.

Yeah as much as I want Lockhart in minifigure form, looks like we are moving to GOF and POA (Those two are my favorites). I feel like Knight Bus is definetly a lock. Also sets with based on the Tri-Wizard Cup seem tantalizing. Yeah you are right. Since we are probably forwards to 3, 4 then 5,6 I see the DADA classroom being incoperated with the Umbridge portion more likely.

So having built the Whomping Willow, I have a theory of the sets coming next. This seems like the Snape portion of Hogwarts since it contained his office and the potion room. Maybe the next extensions will be based on each character. If I remember correctly, the most memborable classroom and the first we see is Potions. In chronological order I see: Lockhart portion: DADA classroom (Hopefully bigger than Potions) with some Pixies. Also the Girl's Bathroom with Moaning Myrtle. Maybe a Ginny trying to get in the chamber. Minifigs: Lockhart, Harry, Ron, Ginny, Moaning Myrtle Sprout portion: I see this as heavily likely especially with the Neville minifigs. The greenhouse with plenty of Foliage. Minifigs: Sprout and some students. Trewlaney portion: Divinations classroom with some of the crystal balls. And sneak in clock tower since this is POA. Characters: Trewlaney and some students. McGonagal portion: Yule Ball hall (I know not likely but would be cool to see), and Transfiguration classroom. Minifigs: Yule Ball Harry, Yule Ball Ron, Yule Ball Hermione, Victor Krum, Fleur, the twins, Olympia. Umbridge Portion: Umbridge's Office and the Room of Requirements: Minifigs: Umbridge, Luna, Cho Chang, Ginny, Neville, Harry. Dumbledore portion: his office with the Pensive and the Astronomy Tower based from the Half Blood Prince. Minifigs: Bellatrix, Draco, Snape, Harry, Dumbledore

I know it's more screen accurate but having a stripe run down the leg like that is just weird on a minifig to me.
