Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
ExeSandbox replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Yeah the green side looks like a couple of holding cells. Although there are only five minifigs and aside from the red one, I don't see an actual criminal? -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Yeah, that's surely the real deal, highly unlikely a fan could cook up a modular of this level just from looking at a black silhouette with this much fidelity. I don't really like how it looks though, but that's coming from someone who's favorite modular is DD. I hope better images to come would sell me on it. Kinda cool how they're using Medium Lavender and Dark Green(?) which aren't color used for walls in Modular building sets before. -
Composition II in Red, Blue, and Yellow

That's amazing! I'm always being reminded by creations like this that there can never be a shortage of cool ideas with LEGO. (nice use of the red shock absorber too. ) -
The model looks so impressive in the pictures, it makes me wonder just how awesome it must look in real life! It's cool how you took the same old LEGO colors and make it look fresh. I also really like the cross section style you went for the model, it's a lot more displayable.

My two cents is that LEGO Ideas still accepts Modular Buildings because they aren't tied to any license and also to leave the door open in case some mad scientist builder creates an insanely next level modular building that LEGO could not have thought of in a hundred years. Because it's on Ideas, LEGO would immediately own the rights to it. They don't have much to lose to keep rejecting Modular buildings either (except for discouraging people to submit Modular Building Product Ideas, which would then decrease the chance of an insane next level modular building from popping up. ) -

Wait, you've legit laid your eyes on the new modular!? Yeah, the age rating is rather bizzare. I'm not sure if LEGO is currently experimenting with this new marketing strategy to see how it goes, or if they know for sure it's the way to go in attracting new adult customers. I wonder how long they'll keep this going for future Creator Expert and LEGO Ideas releases. (LEGO Ideas used to have the most creative box designs ) -

I don't know about that, if they're willing to make the Elf Clubhouse an 18+ set, it's almost a guarantee the next Modular Building will be in the adult-oriented line. Speaking of which, how do you all feel about the possibility that the next modular would have the new black box design instead of the previous version with really nice backgrounds? I'm not too keen about it though. -

(Glad LEGO Technic is still kicking it with their box art.) -
Looking at all the details have been a real treat! I can tell lots of care went in to every wall of the building. Love the vibrant splashes of color you've sprinkled around, the building looks so much alive with them!

The model is incredibly lovely! I'm amazed you could create such a fresh design with simple and effective use of bricks and colors.
-
Wow, I love it when such artistic pieces are made using LEGO bricks! It's simple but captivating, fantastic creation!
-
Oh gosh, it's so good. The design is simply exceptional! Every single element is used so darn effectively, it's making my head spin. Stunning model!

How to get older version of LDD?
ExeSandbox replied to Newest_Tech320's topic in Forum Information and Help
LDD hasn't gotten any updates for the past couple years if I recall. But I think you're referring to this version right? : (LDD 4.3.11) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1owv2x1NhYoYgn0lANqWwKfsBEVtOVp-f/view?usp=sharing -

ExeSandbox replied to Newest_Tech320's topic in Forum Information and Help
Older version as in how far back? 4.3.10, 4.3.9, etc? (I have 4.3.10 setup file here in case you need it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QO9FZDsdftSrWW1KdvUau4VKnXY_5UOK/view?usp=sharing) -

Problems with uploading pictures
ExeSandbox replied to gvb2003's topic in Forum Information and Help
Hi @gvb2003, were you trying to upload directly onto eurobricks? There's hardly any space that way if you want to post pictures effectively. I (and everybody else) would recommend using some sort of photo sharing website (Flickr, Imgur, etc) to upload your images to, then copying the image URL from there and pasting it onto your post. -
Excellent build! Looks so bloody cool! His rugged looks translate so well into LEGO form. Really love the use of those reddish brown 4x4 rock wedge/slope pieces beneath the bum though.
-
Wow, that's impressive! Love the use of SNOT building techniques for the facade and the trees are a great touch too, but the angled railings on the stairs leading to the front entrance really does the trick for me. The interior is spectacular as well, for a building this huge you totally didn't skimp on adding all the details!

This has to be the most accurate looking bamboo forest I've seen made out of LEGO! It's so dense and natural looking.
-
That is absolutely amazing! I never would have thought a modern police station could look this good! Really cool seeing a real architect's ability come to life in LEGO form!

I'm gonna get absolutely demolished for this, but I have to vent my frustrations. Stud.io is a pathetic excuse for a LEGO building software. It is so sluggish, unstable, slow, unintuitive and buggy mess that is just an overall pain in the rear to handle. If it weren't for it's instructions maker I wouldn't go anywhere near it. I wouldn't be writing this if Stud.io hasn't crapped on me for the last time. I've spent the entire day now, working on the instructions for a model, making sure to constantly save because I know how asinine this software can be, until just now, it crashed BECAUSE I TRIED TO SAVE. (WTF?) I don't even know how the flipping hell this software works, but it seems to have completely got rid of my original .io file, and replaced it with a garbage backup version that only has half my progress. I don't even know what to say! I wouldn't mind redoing all that, if Stud.io was in the least enjoyable to use!!!!!! I know this post has been incredibly unprofessional, and I'm very sorry to the developers for what I said, but come on, if Stud.io is to meet the proper standards, a lot of things got to be fixed. (Don't even get me started on that.) Building in Stud.io doesn't hold a candle to LDD, and even despite it's constant parts update, I won't switch over to Stud.io for a very very very very long time. Even Mecabricks feels better to build than Stud.io (like seriously, what is wrong with Stud.io camera controls!?) ...okay rant over......sorry you had to read this.... Edit: okay I feel a little dumb now. Stud.io didn't erase my original file, but instead turned it into a .backup file (but why does it even do that?). I'm still salty about Stud.io though, because I still have yet to start on the Page Designer, and it's not going to be fun. But I'm curious, is anyone else facing issues with Stud.io or is it just me?
