Looks like the new Keaton Batman (with new cowl) is now on IG under the usual hashtag.

If we continue getting more waves, I wonder if LEGO would continue sticking to remakes of scenes we got sets of in 2008-2009, or if they'll throw in some stuff we haven't gotten before. I'd like to see KOTCS get something if this revival of the theme lasts more than two waves. An updated version of Temple of the Crystal Skull or the Jungle Cutter would be neat to see.
-
The Idol Temple looks like pretty much the definitive set to get from this wave, but the other two look like a good value as well. Given that the Temple of Doom looked like it had the most room for improvement in terms of design and structure compared to the other sets, it being delayed to be revamped makes the most sense based on what we know. I feel like LEGO wouldn't let the set be acknowledged at all if it was definitively canceled entirely.

A half hour of refreshing both Instagram and YouTube later, and still nothing.

I'm hoping whatever news is coming in the next 25 minutes won't disappoint, because I am far too eager to hear something new.
-
I wonder if the arms for Baymax in the upcoming Disney series would work for a minifigure Clayface if they were recolored.
-
I wonder if any minifigures included in the Batcave would have been intended to be featured in LEGO Batman 4 (at least before it was put on hold in favor of Harry Potter). I'm not sure what the exact timeline for overlap would have been, but I'm assuming the Batcave, as a large D2C, would have started development around 2020.
If they bring back the 2021 bigfig design, Bane makes the most sense to use it for. I feel like people have been asking for a bigfig comic Bane for at least most of a decade now, and he wouldn't need any new molded parts (Killer Croc could technically be done without new molds too, but would be missing the molded back ridges of the 2016 bigfig, I feel like more people would prefer a minifigure of Clayface, who could be done well with the Vidiyo slime head, Solomon Grundy would need a new big hairpiece, and King Shark would need a new head.) I've speculated that the studs on the back of the 2021 bigfig mold likely could have specifically been added with Bane in mind, especially if the Batcave was already in early development by then.

I would certainly hope we get something on the Batcave. Wasn't it around March two years ago that we started gradually getting hints on who was going to be included in the Daily Bugle?
-
I still think it'd be really weird if they don't bring back the 2021 bigfig design after using it a grand total of one time for Thanos. It even has studs on the back, which would be perfect for Bane, who wouldn't need any new molded parts.

Assuming the Batcave gets officially revealed in May, it will feel like a very slow couple months to wait if we don't get any details on the set between now and then. I don't even know where to set my expectations.
-
I'm hoping they actually incorporate Quidditch into the gameplay this time.
-
I feel like if LEGO ever did a Stegosaurus, they would reuse the lower body piece they introduced for the Ankylosaurus, plus use the Anylosaurus/Triceratops legs. Pachycephalosaurus would probably just be Stygimoloch with a new head. Compsognathus might just be the baby dinosaur mold recolored.
-
Hopefully The Lost World can eventually get a wave of sets like this. That movie had plenty of vehicles and locations that could easily translate into sets.
-
So I guess it's another Ellie Sattler included alongside Muldoon in the Velociraptor set, meaning she's in 4/5 sets of the wave.
-
I guess the Brachiosaurus won't be able to stand on it's hind legs if I'm interpreting Promobrick's newest story correctly?
-
If we don't get any DoD sets, I might start wondering if LEGO has something against Mads Mikkelsen...
-
I'm definitely hoping the CMF series has 18 minifigures too. There will be more content to cover than the first series did, and 18 would still be evenly distributed in a box of 36, with the Disney 100th series demonstrating that they are still willing to do an 18 minifigure series.
-
Considering the Flash set essentially must have Keaton Batman and the Flash at minimum, if we get a third figure (which would break the pattern set by four different Batmobile sets with two minifigures included that were released since 2019), I'd be very surprised if it wasn't Supergirl. If it's Zod, he'd probably be a downgrade from the 2013 version, as I doubt he'd get leg printing this time, and they probably wouldn't bring back the specialized armor pieces after last getting them an entire decade ago.
The Batcave has way more unknown variables in play for the minifigure selection, which is why I'm so eager to start getting information on it
-
The minifigure selection will determine a decent portion of my interest, which makes me hope that the number of new figure prints is closer to Rivendell's than the Daily Bugle's. Hopefully within the next month we'll start getting more information on the set.

I went through out of curiosity to see how many villains and Bat-Family members from the 2008 LEGO Batman: The Videogame we haven't gotten as minifigures as of currently. That list would consist of:
- Mad Hatter
- Hush
- Azrael (can be built in character creator)
- Spoiler (can be built in character creator)
- Black Mask (can be built in character creator)
If we include those who are DS exclusive, there would also be:
- Mr. Zsasz
- Ventriloquist
I'd be pleased if the Batcave can include at least a few of those characters.
-
It'd be cool if the Batcave had a reference to the Gray Ghost somewhere in it.
-
Well, I wasn't expecting to see so many riddles here.
Now all we need is for someone with actual knowledge of the set to contribute.
I have little confidence that will actually happen, but it'd be neat.

Well, that would be fitting. Maybe not quite as much if it turns out the Riddler isn't included, but still. It'd be nice to have something to go off of for trying to figure out who gets included, and it doesn't exactly help that we don't even have confirmation which version of the Batcave this is going to be (though at a $450 price, it doesn't make much sense for it to be anything other than a comics version, or maybe a BTAS version)
-
I wonder if we'll be able to get the gradual line of clues and confirmations of minifigures in the Batcave prior to the official reveal, similar to what was done with the Daily Bugle (that started around when? March?), or if those sort of specific details are being kept under tighter wraps from insiders. I did think that made things a bit more fun in the lead up to actually seeing the set.

with the skyline thing releasing later reusing some of the figs.
maybe phantasm will be exclusive to that skyline set
an animated batmobile and a slew of animated style minifigs would make the price tag more appealing
That could actually work well, considering I'm pretty sure that Batcave retained a lot of the iconic stuff like the giant penny, T-Rex, and giant Joker card in its trophy room. Plus there would still be potential for getting Mad Hatter, Ventriloquist, black and white suit Two-Face, and minifigure Clayface in such a set. The main weakness would be that a BTAS Batcave wouldn't really be able to include any new Bat-Family members we haven't gotten any version of in the past, as well as ruling out a handful of villains that never appeared in the show, such as Hush or Black Mask.
That said, if the new prints for skyline minifigures would be using this set's budget, it would essentially require a Rivendell-sized budget to get more than just a couple other minifigures beyond 4-5 of the skyline minifigures.

Now I'm wondering again if the Batcave could be from TAS.
