    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Considering the 2018 Quidditch Match set is already retired, I would be very surprised if that doesn't get a remake set (or at least an accessory pack) next year. I would prefer a Quidditch remake set to be based on POA so we can get some Hufflepuff players instead of Slytherin for a change. A Quidditch accessory pack could be even better for team building. It seems like the Hogwarts Express isn't set to retire for another year or so, but we are practically guaranteed to get a new one whenever the 2018 set does retire. Maybe they could include Hogsmeade Station instead of King's Cross Station if they want to make a remake more different. A higher pricepoint with motorized functions could also be a possibility. Of course, I do hope the remake sets for next year's summer wave are few in number so we can have room for new sets. If I had to make a top 5 list of Year 3/4 sets I am hoping we'll get, it would probably consist of: 1) Leaky Cauldron (preferably at a $100 pricepoint so it will be comparable in size to other Diagon Alley buildings) 2) Shrieking Shack (of course) 3) Durmstrang Ship 4) Triwizard Lake Task 5) Tie between Triwizard Maze Task or World Cup Death Eater Attack As for potential future accessory packs, while a Quidditch pack would be my top want, a robed student pack would also be useful to have. Both would already have all four house torso prints existing in sets, so either should be simple for LEGO to make.

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

The other day, I managed to get an order through to qualify for the GWP after dealing with some issues getting payment to go through. I am certainly glad I held off on immediately buying any of the summer sets except the Polyjuice Potion Mistake. I ordered the First Flying Lesson, the Wizard's Chess set, and another Student Accessory pack, adding up to $105 to qualify for the GWP. Assuming the summer 2022 sets will be revisiting POA and GOF, (which is at least the case for the January sets), I wonder what LEGO will end up doing.

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Looking back, I realize just how much the movies decreased the screentime of the Quidditch games as they went on. PS/SS: Had a big 8-9 minute Quidditch match scene COS: Had a 5-6 minute Quidditch match scene POA: Had a 2-3 minute Quidditch match scene GOF: No Quidditch match shown (I'm still annoyed they didn't actually show the Quidditch World Cup match despite keeping all the lead up to it) OOTP: Nothing HBP: Roughly 3 minute tryout scene, but actual Quidditch match scene is only about 1 minute DH: Nothing (At least this is accurate to the book) This doesn't give very good odds that we'll get a Quidditch Match set from the later years. Also, almost every game shown in the movies is a Gryffindor vs. Slytherin match, except the one in POA, which is Gryffindor vs. Hufflepuff. Getting a POA Quidditch Match set is probably the best LEGO can do to make a different Quidditch set while still sticking to the movies. I don't think we ever actually see the Ravenclaw Quidditch team on-screen in the movies. At least we have the uniform torso print from Diagon Alley. A Quidditch accessory pack would presumably be the most likely way to make Ravenclaw Quidditch torsos more accessible, considering they seem unlikely to be included in a full Quidditch Match set otherwise, and no new print would be needed.

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Great suggestions! All of these could reasonably appear in sets too. Updated Crookshanks: Could appear in a Leaky Cauldron, Grimmauld Place, or a POA Hogwarts expansion set Updated broom: Could appear in a future Quidditch set, especially since the 2018 Quidditch Match set seems to be retired (Ideally POA themed if they want to set it apart from the previous set, as the stands would have exposed frames and there would be Hufflepuff players instead of Slytherin players) Dual molded Triwizard Cup: Could appear in a Maze Task set, plus we could also get the Maze outfit variants of Fleur and Krum that are still missing Dog Sirius and Werewolf Lupin: Would be obvious inclusions in a Shrieking Shack set Kreacher: Grimmauld Place, obviously Troll: Whenever LEGO feels like making another bathroom set

    If it's a mech, I'm betting it will be a Spider-Gwen Mech.

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

According to Lego_Fulcrum: 10781: Spider-Man Techno Truck (Includes Spider-Man and Green Goblin) $9.99 10783: Spider-Man at Doc Ock's (Includes Spider-Man, Doc Ock, and unknown third minifigure which is likely Miles or Gwen) $29.99 10784: Spider-Man's Webquarters (Includes Rhino, plus presumably others) $49.99

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I'm curious if there's going to be any Spider-Man sets next year other than the 4+ sets and probable MCU sets. If not, I feel like 2023 could become a big year for comic Spider-Man sets.

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Rhino being included means I'm probably going to be buying at least whatever set he's included in. Hopefully he is a bigfig, which should be possible for 4+ sets considering Hulk was in a 4+ set last year. They can just reuse the new Thanos mold and either make a new helmet mold, or just attach a horn directly to the top head stud if they don't want to make a new mold.

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Looking into the Spidey and His Amazing Friends Series that the winter wave seems to be based on, here's a list of characters from it that could potential appear in the sets: Spider-Man (Duh) Miles Morales (all but guaranteed to be included) Spider-Gwen (same here) Doc Ock (confirmed by Fulcrum) Green Goblin (Very probable) Rhino (Hopefully included, but will probably just get skipped over again) Hulk (I feel like there won't be non-Spider heroes included in these sets, but I could be wrong) Black Panther (see above) Ms. Marvel (LEGO will probably hold off to do an MCU version later) Venom (Not actually in the show to my knowledge, but do you think LEGO cares?)

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I could easily see Rhino ending up with a $30-40 oversized mech build, considering that LEGO really likes releasing those, if the Iron Monger, Hydra Stomper, and Sakaarian Iron Man sets we've gotten this year alone are any indication. I'd still accept it if they made a bigfig comic Rhino later on.

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I hope that Electro and Lizard apparently being in the movie will lead to them appearing in comic Spider-Man sets in the future. Mysterio got his movie appearance and matching minifigure in 2019, then got a comic minifigure in 2020. Vulture already had a minifigure of his classic comic design before his 2017 movie appearance, but he got a new minifigure based on his Ultimate design about a year later. By this logic, if Electro and Lizard appear in theoretic 2022 second wave movie sets, I could see them appearing in 2023 comic sets. On the other hand, Shocker, Hydro-Man, and Molten Man all got movie appearances and inclusions in tie-in sets, but have still not appeared in comic sets. If Lizard appears in the movie sets, he should at least need a new tail mold, which I could easily see being reused for a comic Lizard figure, similar to movie Mysterio getting a new helmet mold that was reused for the comic Mysterio minifigure. However, comic Lizard would probably need a unique head mold, as movie Lizard is probably just going to use a regular minifigure head unless he gets a drastic redesign from his Amazing Spider-Man appearance (The glimpse of him in the trailer isn't clear enough to confirm one way or the other)

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I'm really liking the look of the Sam Wilson Cap! I'm glad they went with a new hairpiece that leaves more of the mask showing, as I think the sides would have been too covered by the old hair piece. The old hair piece looks more accurate for Sam Wilson as Falcon, but the new one looks better for his Captain America design. With how detailed the figure looks, I hope the wings look good. Either way, I'll probably still end up getting the whole CMF series eventually.

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

The new sets finally reached my area, so I picked up the Polyjuice Potion Mistake set. Very neat set in my opinion. The minifigures are great, and should make Slytherin robe torsos far easier to come by, considering a whopping three are included. It is nice to finally have a representation of Crabbe and Goyle, and Hermione's new cat head mold is also done very well, though the lack of a cat tail is rather unfortunate, but understandable considering the stall is too small to fit a tailed minifigure. At least the cat tail piece does apparently exist in reddish brown through the Monkie Kid theme. The design of the build does a good job allowing the minifigures to be displayed, and the toilet stall build works well enough. The opening sinks are a notable highlight of the build. I got Flamel and Ollivander's Chocolate Frog cards, so that's two cards down, fourteen to go. I look forward to eventually picking up the rest of the sets from the wave.

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Interesting. I'd be on board if the rest of the house ghosts were included. As a note, considering the 2019 Knight Bus is retiring soon, I'm left wondering how long after that it might take before LEGO tries remaking it. I could see them holding off for maybe a year or two, but I suspect it would have to get remade eventually, considering how iconic it is. The fact that it only appears in one movie rather limits how much they could set a remake apart from the 2019 version. At the very least, including Marge and a new Padfoot mold would probably interest people. Oh, and if they actually include a new Daily Prophet newspaper with Sirius Black on it, instead of the overused 'The Boy Who LIVED!' print we keep getting.

    DC Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

An agreement between those companies would definitely be an ideal situation. After the underperformance of The LEGO Ninjago Movie and The LEGO Movie 2, Warner Bros. probably isn't going to be very interested in reacquiring the LEGO Movie rights, but perhaps a collaboration with Universal at least might be less far-fetched. I believe their home entertainment divisions already have a partnership. Access to the characters owned by Warner Bros. would also likely be appealing to Universal. I would hope that a theoretical TLBM2 made this way would still have McKay, Waldron, and Harmon involved, as well as the original voice cast. It would have been quite interesting to see what kind of sets and minifigures could have potentially come from the movie. Considering it seemed to be keeping up the Super Friends influences, I suspect we probably would have finally gotten Samurai and Gleek, and perhaps a Hall of Justice as a set (maybe a D2C?) The Legion of Doom seem like a likely inclusion as well.

    DC Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Considering that The LEGO Batman Movie is probably my favorite Batman movie and was also what got me back into buying LEGO sets after several years of not buying any, I am quite disappointed that the plans for a sequel were scrapped. The plot outline sounds like it would have been an awesome movie, and it would have resulted in Justice League based sets with the quality of TLBM sets, something that is desperately needed in the LEGO DC line (Going off on a bit of a tangent, I'm also still to this day frustrated that Samurai and Gleek were left out of the TLBM sets/CMF line, leaving the Super Friends lineup incomplete. At least Cyborg's classic variant eventually turned up in the 2020 DC CMF to add to the Justice League party lineup.) After having purchased every TLBM set except for Joker Manor (which I regret passing on in hindsight) I haven't bought any full DC sets from 2019 or later (Though I did buy the full CMF series), simply because the builds and most minifigures were underwhelming compared to what was featured in TLBM. Only a few minifigures appealed to me at that point (specifically Firefly, Ocean Master, Shazam, and Bronze Tiger). I can only hope that TLBM2 gets made someday if Universal's license expires. If someone ever starts some sort of "Save TLBM2" online movement, I'd be all for supporting it, certainly more than I would support the "Snyderverse" movements that have been floating around, even if I did enjoy the Snyder Cut.

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I just got my Daily Bugle earlier today, and have started building it. I'm only four bags in, and already impressed with the amount of detail and clever building techniques I've encountered. Hopefully it won't be long before we get more Marvel sets with this type of quality. The set selling out as quickly as it did is probably a promising sign for the future. The 2018 Iron Spider arms would also probably look good, as the detailing lines up surprisingly well with Captain Marvel's Endgame outfit. Granted, the 2018 Iron Spider minifigure has gone up in price over the past couple years, so they would be an expensive option.

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Whoa, I had no idea how much Kraven's prices from US sellers have gone up! I didn't have much issue getting one for $12.99 just last month, so I'm glad I didn't wait any longer on that. The Bugle's release must have really increased the demand. Yeah, Kraven's head left a lot to be desired. I ended up replacing it with the Thorin Oakenshield head. Hopefully this encourages LEGO to make more Marvel sets of comparable style and quality. I would think that the Bugle selling out this quickly should be enough indication that the demand is there.

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Just ordered my Bugle a little while ago. Luckily, I had $25 worth of VIP points ready to be used. Hopefully enough people buy this set for LEGO to justify further sets to add on it. I guess we'll have to see how long it takes to sell out.

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I'm assuming they had to hold off on the Fantastic Four until they show up in the MCU (which will probably be around 2023-2024). After that happens, hopefully we'll get a D2C Baxter Building to display next to the Bugle.

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I just added a few parts lists to the Purist Superhero Figures thread if you're interested in seeing them, though expect more to be added over time: Those water pieces should be useful. The Juniors Mr. Freeze torso having a striking resemblence to Hydro-Man's costume was the main thing that lead to me trying to design a custom for him. I'll be very pleased if we get some of these villains in sets. I'll be much more likely to buy them if they have something different from the same handful of villains that we've been getting again and again with few additions.

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I'm still amazed that we're getting a set like the Daily Bugle. I had spent the last couple years thinking that random vehicles and mechs would make up the entirety of the comic Spider-Man line's future. I can only hope that the Bugle sells well enough for LEGO to make more sets like it. It's too bad that Marvel has never been able to be involved in LEGO movies the way DC could. I've always wondered what a LEGO Spider-Man movie with the same level of detail and care put into it as The LEGO Batman Movie could be like. At the very least, we could have gotten a far better variety of villains by now, considering TLBM had like 40 DC villains featured. Because the Bugle didn't do much to fix the shortage of new villains, I've been in the process of trying to acquire parts to make them myself. I have purist custom plans for comic Hydro-Man, Hammerhead, Chameleon, Lizard, Mr. Negative, Morbius, Jack O Lantern, Tinkerer, the Enforcers, and several others. That should even the odds against all the new heroes we're getting.

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Here's Mark Stafford's response on how far in advance sets are being planned out: "We're finishing up some/a lot of 2022 at the moment. With our team some of it happens quite late as we have to wait for movies and TV shows to get to the point they can share some concept art. LEGO City and other projects who aren't partnered with outside licenses are probably finishing up 2022 completely and starting to experiment with ideas for 2023 already. But due to COVID-19 I'm not sure! For the Superheroes team our 2023 planning consists of seeing what movies have been announced and holding our breath for cool concepts to start arriving and thinking about (and sketch building) things like the Bugle or Infinity Saga sets that we can complement them with."
