[TSotEP] 5 - A Dash for the Docks
Roadmonkeytj replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The two details that stand out to me are the water and the windows... I would love to see the behind the scene on the window treatment. The statue also stands out as well ... The new style horses lend well in this application. And the umbrella made me laugh. The cab is well done as well the posing really adds movement to it. Although I would have loved to see a ship at the end of the gangway I feel it would have detracted from the detail in the rest of the build. I think it was a good choice letting your imagination put it there.- 8 replies

Roadmonkeytj replied to Roadmonkeytj's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks ... I was aiming for very first light ... I as well am curious to ... Will have to wait for the next KPA to see lol. Eventually my plan is the shipworks be full scale with all the aspects of ship building - but still maintaining the mom and pop style facilities.- 9 replies

[COR - Era II - Callenge 1 - Cat. B 2] The Nightlight Spider
Roadmonkeytj replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Drunknok @Bregir I want to address both of you on what I just read. This is not a personal attack on either of you just merely outside observations. While i do not completely know/understand either of your motivations for constant bickering i can tell you in the short time ive been here its apparent. Drunknok - Your text can come of as harsh sometimes in reading ... Not that you intend it that way just that it can be read that way because there is no audible tone Bregir - I know you get called out in public on matter (no going into any of the actual issues) but As a player it puts a bad taste in my mouth to see "leadership" openly bicker. Not implying you don't do a good job or you should step down ... More so implying as leadership you have to force yourself to use even more tact than the average player (which admittedly you are very good at doing) What I can say to both of you is this kind of back and forth is bad for a forum ... Ive not participated in other forums because of horrible bickering between the users ... I urge you both to come to some agreement to work things out in PM or to hold the bickering in a private venue. It does effect other players as we read the back and forth. I respect both of you greatly but was ashamed to read this ... -
"To whom it may concern: I am writing today to inquire about a loan. My shipworks has been taken over by an unwelcomed visitor and I need to be able to maintain payments during these trying times to keep good men on my labor force. Once the pest has been removed I can resume production and begin repayment of the loan. Signed: A former Corrlander Gustaf VonBricktin Salty Shipworks Charlanan Bay OOC: In reality I fear I am short the DBs to do what I would like to do ... I was thinking 200DB loan @50DB a month repayment?

Regulations for the dress uniforms and insignia of rank of Royal Navy officers
Roadmonkeytj replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
We have a perfect uniform standard why would you change that? A sea rat captain can wear what he desires and a captains hat is just a formality. White and blue and a posh accent gotta be OL lol Perhaps lavenwood could be awarded new uniforms as such the execs just enacted such stringent uniform regulations ... As far as they go it would be good for COR to settle on a uniform and add it to the quickstart guide -

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Roadmonkeytj replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
That is correct all yards and spars were hung from full masts ... The guns were all fitted ... Minifigs posed lol the only sail fitted was a temp out on the bow spirit. I actually have a picture of shrounds on her (can upload if needed)but i pulled them off after two days to rig it with dead eyes. And never git any further then getting the dead eyes threaded on the ship Edit: this was before the deadeyes- 2007 replies

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Roadmonkeytj replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
So I have a question for leadership ... I built a class 5/6 vessel but never finished the rigging and sails .... Now due to unforseen circumstances in my personal life the ships progress is hindered indefinately ... I've maintained a build log of the ship with intent to licence once finished. Am I able to licence this vessel with its current build progress? As it may be over a year before I can get it back in shape (it and all of my BoBs builds are half busted up into one big tote) (Don't get married/divorced) The last photos don't do it justice and I had added a few things after these were taken but never photographed- 2007 replies

This was my understanding of brigs rigged with oars ... That they were either river faring or lake boats and would therefore need to be rowed due to lack of inland wind @Anders TThe model is simply amazing ... Glad to see its getting museum time. Its odd that Ive also stumbled upon your ontario in my searches ... I like this version ... While on the subject of oars ... I think if displayed with them they would look better slanted forward or back as if being rowed as opposed to sticking straight out ...

Sand floor nice touch! -
Over all i think this is a swell build from you ... Nice concept and does give some busy work outside. My only wishes is that you went through the process some ...and that you push your roof slopes tight lol
