Does anyone use decals instead of stickers?
Roadmonkeytj replied to SteamSewnEmpire's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I know a guy who uses O scale water slide ... They work great ... If you don't handle them too often or model doesn't ever come apart. Based on his experience I wouldn't recommend using them if you pack them around for shows ... He tried a clear sealer and even clear packing tape ... They look ok but the vinyl decals are far superior in durability and handling ... If careful enough you can even "repair" a torn decal. As far as paper based stickers ... I hate them they leave adhesive and generally degrade easily -
Brilliant render and even better story ... Look forward to the next chapter!

[SR-MCRA] Pirates have gone too far
Roadmonkeytj replied to Roadmonkeytj's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you ... I do plan to licence it ... The office began while working on another project ... The stairs is the same trick I've used before copy paste rotate repeat lol step by step until you reach the desired height ... Then rotate into place. It is ... If I recall is just over 2w x 6l 32x32 baseplates but all custom plate so sections can be removed for better angles. The shrouds were a last minute change ... Lol the picture of the historic rope walk I was working off just had the twisting machines across the yard and had an elevated office at the back . Thank you sir! I hope to continue the story with the hunt of the npc pirate the Dragon ... But the powers that be say he is one of the hardest to hunt so should make for good stories! -
Gustaf read the KPA to see how his ships cargo traded when they reached Fatu Hiva. However it had not been good news. Gustaf was furious but his status as Governor allowed him certain liberties. Wanted posters were drawn up and a bounty for the return of Rahabs Gambit along with a second poster drawn up for the Capture and delivery of the Pirate known as "The Dragon". Good news had come later that day though … Odin's Scorn had been stranded in Jameston on the far side of the Island a month ago and had been repairing its damaged rigging. He immediately departed for Jameston. Upon his arrival Gustaf went straight away to the ropeworks as where else would you obtain new rigging for a ship the size of Odin's Scorn. Gustaf asked around and was happy to find the owner knew him well and was not sympathetic to Pirates. The owner explained that he would have never sold them anything had he known they were pirates - however he said they were not dressed as any Pirate he had never seen - they acted like regular sailors and had a certain air of military training behind them. He remembered the day well as it was the last time the shepherds had brought the goats through town to trade their goods. He knew exactly what they had purchased as he read the log to Gustaf - it was enough rigging for the foremast and also enough rope to re-hoist a lanteen sail. Gustaf knew from his time at sea the ship had only sailed a mere two days ago based on a repair of that size. He asked if he recalled the captains appearance - to which the owner obliged a description - an older captain with patch over his eye but dressed as a gentleman would not that of a normal pirate. Gustaf knew immediately who it was … Wardel Gustaf knew right where to find his ship . . . and a few days later he was returning with Captain Mason Wardel in chains to be tried for Piracy and he now had his war ship back so the hunt for the Dragon could begin. __________________________________ OoC This is the start of the story for the hunt for the Pirate known as The Dragon. @ESL, @COR The former pirate captain Mason Wardel is ready to be tried for his crimes at sea this is his mini fig head.

Don't fret mate I have a whole box of nothing but ship hulls like these lol. The ship works ... Might I suggest swapping the hull sections ... The black/grey can be swapped with the grey/brown to net you a black/brown and a grey/grey hull! Forgive me I'm not finding the link to this currently -

Sweet intro -
Firstly I want to say this is a ship style that many shy away from just due to the complicated angles. You've done quite the job with it as it's instantly identified through a spy glass ... Ok my fist ... I can pretend. Secondly please build this in brick when your able as I would love to see how your design translates! And finally congrats you've been blogged! Check it out!

I think your ideas are purely speculation at this point (from what I understand from your explanation at least). You may find those to be quite ambitious. I think the idea is possibly solid but you will find it may not gain any traction (pun intended) until you get physical parts in people's hands to get real input back. I know there are a couple of companies already out there that do just that at the big train shows. I do hope you try (and are successful) but you will be hard pressed for people to line up throwing money at you until they can SEE and/or FEEL the product you promise.- 43 replies

I am intrigued by this ... Well done indeed -
I might of missed it but you can create alot if under structure with duplo ... A quick Google search will show you how to connect them to system bricks. This can save you alot of weight and brick under the mountain ... If your like me and buy friends sets for the parts there is alot of pink and purple to be used under a mountain.
