Weelond 2nd Battalion ready for duty

    Popcorn get your popcorn !
  2. So much green frustration! It really has a great effect I will use your cat tail method sometime. The water didn't render very well but other that that great build
  3. In an undisclosed location, an eerie sight is to be seen. The Driftwood Heart is anchored without a sheet of duck on any yard. Seems the crews are busy ashore mending the sails. They must be preparing for a fair bit of ..... Well that's another story. Comments and Criticism welcomed

    [SR-FB] Driftwood Heart

Again great tips! Thank you. I usually add cannons to all decks even if not shown. Admittedly I did not add them to the lowest on this as you could not see them as none of the hatches are open so to save brick count I left them out. Also I rarely include any cabin interior other than the floor. I find the scale is really too far or supports are in the way. Although I've built cabin scenes to look like the ships cabin where I can massage the scale a little. But yes 'simple string rigging" that would take 5 min in real brick takes an hour or more in LDD frustrating. Especially since I usually rig last and by that time I have enough angles that my graphics driver hates me and the align tool simply crashes LDD so I do it all by myself trial and error. Well for now we will leave "the story" a mystery just like her location. Depending on the MCRA outcome you may get some back story to her. Thanks for your comments!

[COR - Raising troops] Vernon's Company

I had a history teacher back in school that I will never forget... We are discussing the revolutionary war (US vs Britain) specifically the fighting styles and how the US began using "gorilla tactics" as the Red coats out numbered US. He drew a regiment formation on the board then explained it was common practice for both sides to parade out in front of each other and line up. Just like they are going to play a game of red rover. Then both sides ready, aim. He interjected you were taught not to Actually aim at the person across the field from you as that would be murder but just point in the location of the bodies. He then said a general or comander would then give the order to fire and red rover red rover send your bullets on over. Since the reload time was quite long your front line would take a knee while the back shot. The best part was when the guy in front of you got shot you simply stepped forward for your turn to be shot. To this day this odd ball teachers words stay with me lol

    MRCA Deadline January 8

Gasp... You broke the tmcra! I know I'm guilty of Mis-spelling from time to time as my phone loves auto correcting words that don't need corrected.
  7. Can't wait to see rigging and sails on this bad boy!

Well this is an interesting one indeed. Firstly I like all the corn? In the background. The story was interesting as well. My only wish is that instead of the single picture back and forth you would have used the scene more. You have a lot of detail in it but you barely see any of it. I would have liked to seen you pose the figures repeatedly down the length of the build so it looked as if they were walking and talking. You miss the cow being led the man sleeping and the guy hiding in a barrel otherwise.

Stopping a train at an exact spot

I think this will be the closest to "exact spot" programmed decel and stop and wait after sensor trigger. Just have to play with sensor location and decel amount/time

Thank you... All good notes! For some reason I find the stern easier to work on than the bow lol. As far as masts should I be adding another offset to the mast creating 4 with the 4th just being for flags? I really like the curved hull it even has interior but I need to attach the weather deck to the lower instead of the walls lol The last four ships I build used custom rigging either by flex tubes or the studded string I like the look of the prefab but I agree on the lengths lol I didn't go the string method this time because I was on a time crunch and setting all the angles is very time consuming.... Don't restart just set it aside and build another... I have three hulls right now like that lol

This is a very elegant ship all the rigging really draws the eye too!

[SR-KPA Reaction] For whom the Bell Tolls

I'm sure there are more than one "body collector" you should still do it! Haha I remember reading in one of their rail builds that they only eat the horse after they work it to death lol! Firstly thank you for the detailed feedback. I did struggle a little as my understanding of the Landing is very sparse and desert like. I was also trying to keep the building very simple yet while adding structural detail like the crown detailing. The cracks in the side of the building did not translate well at this angle. The two angled slats were supposed to be wall chunks missing. Again didn't translate from the angle (you can see I've wedged a tile in the one (like you said not easy in LDD). Over all I had fun building this and again I will take all your suggestions in mind on other builds!
  15. I just realized your trying to get Intel on a certain Captain Nordau's where abouts lol
  16. Well the building falling to pieces was designed to look like one of your city's many buildings...

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes

I find the rubber hair of friends dolls work well on standard minifigs... I too buy them for the cool parts... Although I'm getting a bin full of pinks and purples.... Eventually I will have to find a use... On a separate note a fellow lug member recommended using an filler sports and under elevation suports where it won't be seen.

    Monastery Brewery

This is very well done the monk cowering behind the rack is my favorite. The barrels are fantastic... I think I understand how they are done from your description... Just stack the modified bricks and rotate to the next angle correct? The floor is well done the "cracks" really make it feel old... The green in the floor isn't bad but the tan in the floor my mind doesn't process and puts it out of place (I think because the Walls are tan) You mentioned the archway is fragile... Does it hold up to transit or is it a redo every move?

    MOC - Mill Raid

My two favorite parts are the horse reared up and the way you did the fire on the roof Overall so much going on so much to look at... You display the action well.

    [MOC] Black Falcon supply point

I like how you "filled the wall with dirt" the snot on the wall is good too ... Personally I don't think it's too much. The cart is great but the way it hitches to the horse however bothers me... I much would rather see two headlight bricks back to back in the "saddle hole" with the bar running through instead. You can then put a flat tile on the bricks and the horses back is clean. A bit of flex tube held by "hands" around the front lower neck looks much like the harness. Great build over all the scene is well thought out and we'll displayed
  22. Congrats to @Bart for front page news! (yes I realize that he posted it the 30th of Dec and it is now the 9th of Jan but hey better late then never!)
  23. I was going to ask about the connection but you answered it for me lol I like the way you have set it up... Will this be at BrickWorld this year?
  24. Bru-Haha helps cure headaches you know we could arrange a distributor to be set up in your settlement.... Love this build really the onlookers the building but my favorite part is the soldier breaking formation for the photo lol

I actually love the background you chose is that a monitor or a picture? Nice little ship you got there!
