Me and you are thinking along the same lines, what i would really like to do is to replicate one of the juke-box-bows (stretched oval thingy) on the backside of the model (instead of not utilizing an entire bow juke-box-bow structure), that would improve the lighting inside the set by quite a lot, but will have to see the 360 degree image of the set to verify the feasibility for this design. Still it looks like an amazing set with quite a lot of scope for modifications. p.s. : if possible someone kindly let me know if there is some word for the semi-stretched-oval design, its quite difficult to come up with new and short words to name that structure... many people have been saying the Diner draws inspiration from the painting below, but your image carries a more complete Diner reference. It always feels good to discover Lego likeness in real world structures. -

Well for what it's worth, the wait was kind of worth it, It looks so different and so nice. Kudos to the designer for this amazing design but am I the only one who feels that I am gonna have to get two of these to replicate the right hand side design on the left side of the stretched oval thingy as well, to make it look so much more awesome and beautiful. The more i look at the deign the more I am liking it. -

Finally someone said whats been on my mind since forever. Its Lego, it doesn't need to be American, European etc or cater to specific tastes, it has to be unique, original, creative and above all it should be fun to build and display. There are so many people world-over with varying tastes and preferences but for Lego its impossible to design their products based on individual tastes, if that was the case, the Modulars as a series would never have been able to even begin. Instead of trying to find faults with what could and could not have been, I myself prefer being grateful to Lego and its designers for coming up with such a wonderful series, which brought me out of my Dark years and has become one of my most passionate hobbies. The world would be a lot darker (atleast for me) without new Modulars to look forward to every year (irrespective of what, where and whichever period of time the Modular is loosely based upon). end of rant. So many people have been saying the same thing, so i guess this really might turn out to be the 2018 modular, although its one more restaurant but who cares it looks amazing and so unique compared to all the earlier Modulars, I am sure my city would readily accommodate it. -

I have no issues with any of the modulars, each one is unique and special in their own right, say for example according to me what makes CC such a great set is its lack of interiors because it signifies the beginning of modulars, how the modular series began and how it has evolved over the years, some of us AFOL's might find the laundromat in the BB to be a useless addition but to others (myself included), that small tiny shop in the corner of the bank with its money laundering activities is an integral part of BB, and completes the entire Storyline effect that the designer of BB had intended to convey. Each modular has its own story, some contain an integrated storyline (DO,BB etc), others contain their own unique design character (revolving door in GE, Fire Truck in FB, elevator in TH etc.) -

The point of modulars is there being certain co-relation and links between them, All modulars link up perfectly together, from the front-end atleast, there sidewalks combine together, all have a white street lamp, whereas Ninjago City seems from an entirely different city design, it doesn't link perfectly together with any of the other modulars, The size seems entirely out of proportion, moreover the river design is completely out of whack, the sidewalk cannot just abruptly turn into a waterway. I own Ninjago City it just doesn't work out with any of the other modulars, Even Town Hall is terribly dwarfed, I Displayed Ninjago city individually for some time got tired of it taking too much space, just dismantled it and packed it again, whereas I am more than satisfied with all my modulars being displayed together. No issues with Ninjago City though its a beautiful set, just love the detailing it has but for me its character is just a little too individualistic, It became too isolated after some time. Its definitely not the 2018 modular, which I am eagerly awaiting for as well, hoping for a mid-November release since Detective's Office was released around that time. -

Lego has made the 2018 modular into such a top secret existence, like the design blueprint for it will be used by Elon Musk in his Mars colony plans, its just too lame. Even if Lego doesn't have any plans of releasing it soon, a little teaser image here, a little leaked info there, never hurt anyone. They might be maintaining the secrecy levels because of the threat of Chinese knockoff brands but Lego has to release it someday, wont make much of a difference then. -

So this is what the quote button is for, thanks a bunch, now life would be so much easier... I myself got hooked to Modulars in 2016, I was quite lucky to be from India because of the Lego sets being too expensive here compared to anywhere else in the world (retail price of assembly square is 435 USD (approx) here), i easily found several old and discontinued Modulars at heavily discounted prices and started a hobby that is almost bordering on obsession now. Regarding the effect of Lego on my wallet, I couldn't agree with you more, Once upon a time my wallet used to be so healthy and happy now its on a free fall towards malnourishment. But the heart wants what the heart wants... -

Its really not a bad design, but alas have to wait till Lego's official announcement of the 2018 modular, by the process of elimination of all 2018 Modular guesses from lurking on various forums, the majority is suggesting a Police Station (totally my instinctual guess, no links to anywhere available), well I am personally fine with whatever the Modular turns out to be, but the wait is so darn annoying.... -

Well I for one have no issues with the re-release of Taj Mahal, really regretted it bad not getting this set (came out of my dark phase much later), I am from India and i am really glad to be given the opportunity by Lego to own this iconic masterpiece once more. Now just waiting for a re-release of Eiffel Tower. Read the Taj Mahal article on "brothers-bricks" and really surprised that by the end of November, 11 biggest Lego sets of all time will be on sale simultaneously by Lego. Well fake or not, I really do want it, have been waiting for a fuel station for far too long. In 2008 Town Plan set (10184) there was a Movie Theater, Town hall & a Octan Gas station, we have already received modulars for Town hall and Movie Theater (Palace Cinema), about time the Gas station showed up. That 10 year anniversary stamp might be there because based on the earlier leak of 10256 being confidential set to be released in 2016, Lego might have wanted to release it as the 10th Anniversary Modular but due to whatever circumstances Lego changed there mind and replaced it with Assembly Square, I know i am grasping at straws but i really want a new modular, the wait is killing me.
