The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
Digger of Bricks replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Perhaps lime green and orange like these guys from 3842 Lunar Command. As far as wild color variations, I could see us getting such figures from a hypothetical CS themed Juniors set. This is where I would like to see them go, with a darker upon lighter hued mixture. And additional printing other than the torso logo would be limited, maybe CS logos printed on the upper arms like the S15 Astronaut would be nice. -
Survey: New parts and new colors
Digger of Bricks replied to Bonaparte's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've mentioned this on the 2017 City thread also, but it would be great to have a four wide version of this new part pictured on the left introduced in this year's 60154 Bus Station. I would like to see Sand Purple reintroduced also. It seems like it should be a necessary color in Lego's current color palette. -

LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yes, that's likely. But other than big bang themes, I'd be interested to know if we are getting any new original theme/themes next year. Whether it be a minidoll theme, classic theme (space, castle, pirates, etc.), traditional action theme (Aquazone, Agents, Underground, Adventures, etc.), or something never before seen. I know that @Murdoch17 would love a new Adventures theme. -

I like them to be minimalist, but I wouldn't mind a more detailed take. Now I do like the accenting color idea, perhaps with darker shades for the figures' helmets, air tanks, and hands. Maybe they even could have dual mold legs with darker shaded boots (a.k.a. Earth Blue boots on Bright Blue legs, Dark Red boots on Bright Red, etc.). Its funny you posted this, since I just proposed an idea for the new CS Light Bluish Grey torso that came with S17's Rocket Suit Boy in the S17 Discussion thread which I've quoted here below. -
LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
We've been getting many 2018 set rumors for products all the way into the summer wave for awhile now, starting with the S18 rumors. We even now know thanks to @Delta Customs that we are getting JW2 sets for next year. But really, I would just like to know if there is an new original action or big bang replacement theme coming for next year if we are to believe the rumors of Nexo Knights early end. Does anyone know of one, or is that a particularly top secret detail that would be too early to disclose currently? -

Well I meant for the hypothetical Mighty Micro set, not the presumed Aquaman film set/sets. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 17 Rumors and Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Maybe this has been suggested on this thread or elsewhere before, but has anyone taken Rocket Suit Boy's classic grey torso and made a classic spaceman with the Dark Bluish Grey hands plucked and replaced with Bright Blue ones, then given a Bright Blue racer helmet with Trans-yellow visor and Bright Blue air tanks. Now maybe most classic spacers like uniform colored spacemen, but this combination would match the CS vehicle color scheme nicely I think. The only thing we don't have that would work well with this spaceman design would be dual molded Light Bluish Grey legs with Bright Blue boots.- 1421 replies

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think a Aquaman Mighty Micro is plausible for next year, in light of the DCEU film coming December that year, but I think they will pair Aquaman with Black Manta just to reuse the head and air tank mold again. -
Thomas the Tank Engine and The Lego Group
Digger of Bricks replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Initially before making this post, I researched on the franchise on Wikipedia looking primarily at the separate article on merchandising searching for a section on past and present licensing rights, not finding any mention of anything of the sort. So I guessed this must be something not easily found (stupidly presuming that if it wasn't on Wiki, I wouldn't find it elsewhere ), so I made this post to see if anyone knew. Well now this time, I just simply searched "Thomas the Tank Engine licensing rights" and this was the second link. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/8847097/Thomas-the-Tank-Engine-owner-Hit-Entertainment-sold-to-Mattel-for-680m.html So according to this Telegraph article, back in 2011, Mattel bought HIT Entertainment (owner of the Thomas franchise) for $510 million from former owner Apex to pay off its debt. So this makes Mattel not an exclusive licensing partner, but the sole owner of the franchise. I grew up with the original stories and the TV show, so this was pretty sad to learn, I didn't even know this. Unless someone knows otherwise, this makes the franchise no different than Hasbro's Transformers or GIJoe, so Lego can not even approach it, right?- 75 replies

Another great Batmobile! I see you used the skeleton arm for the split windshield again like your '89 Batmobile, which looks nice, and I like the Nexo shield battering ram front.

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
And I'm glad because of that. I've said before elsewhere, that two years ago I was pretty sure the DCEU would give comic based sets a slim to nothing chance for yearly slot room. Soooo.... -
Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don't doubt that Lego will make sets for the DCEU regardless of the franchise's speed bumps, I mostly was speaking about the wide window of time Lego has for comic/TV show based sets since Aquaman is the only DCEU film scheduled for 2018 in December that year (it probably will get one set for that year anyway like Wonder Woman did). At this point, I don't think WB can possibly relaunch a currently back burnered film now and release it in time for a 2018 date. -
I've been following this thread for a while now, and let me say, the work you've done on all of these are amazing! Someone has said here once before, but yes, Lego REALLY needs to hire you as a designer! In review, perhaps some of my personal favorites are the Series B Paranormal Investigator and Cinephile, and the Series D Masked Hero and Galactic Explorer.

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
What do you guys think about the plausibility that maybe we could see summer 2018 sets based upon the revived season three Young Justice TV show? And if that may seem too soon, perhaps winter 2019? Both these release date seasons seem to be mostly open due to the lack of any large DCEU films. By summer 2019, any TV show or comic based sets may be pushed over or minimized for presumable DCEU sets if WB gets their franchise up and running full power again. -
Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation

Not that familiar with the character, only vaguely, but yes, he would come with a nice helmet, since it has a retro space, Buck Rogers vibe about it I could find useful. -

This is one beautiful set! The jaunty, angled, weathered Sand Green siding and weather beaten roof make this set, along with what looks like a nicely detailed interior! That one figure there at the bottom has nice dual molded legs of Olive Green and either black or dark brown boots. -

Its quite scaled down, compared to what we saw on the back of the sticker album, but its not bad to me at least. But yes, I too anticipate Zane's Tank soon if its a retailer exclusive and can't wait to see what it turns out like. -

That Supergirl/Brainiac one sounds interesting, especially with the Kandor cylinder brick. I hope that Brainiac comes with a stern, not angry, look and that the cartoonish style is mild at best for normal reusage. -

Yes, the printed Batwing canopy. Others probably already have mentioned it, but you are the first person I've seen mention the potential Neo Blacktron usages for this printed canopy. -
Lego themes that we would like to happen
Digger of Bricks replied to YellowCorvette's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Though this is more of a reboot request as opposed to a new theme request, I really think Lego should bring back the Racers theme. Speed Champions is great, but the course it has set is a theme composed of six wide, minifigure scale licensed sports cars. This is something that has not been seen in a theme before, but being such a specific theme limits its evergreeness, something that Racers did not have a problem with, since it had many subthemes to keep the theme fresh if one subtheme maybe didn't fly. Racers had the 4 wide Tiny Turbos subtheme, the outdoor RC subtheme, the air propelled Power Racers subtheme, the Ferrari and Lamborghini subthemes, the RC subtheme, and others which illustrate the broadness of the theme. Now many of the original subthemes I'm not really fond of, but conceptually so much can be done with a revamped Racers theme, such as... 1. A Mario Kart like subtheme composed of $20 great vehicle sets featuring one minifigure and their characterized race vehicle, made up of original characters or licensed and non- licensed characters from current and past themes. This perhaps could be sold with a accompanying TT Games Racers 3 sequel resembling Mario Kart. 2. An annual expert series subtheme of various current model licensed sport cars, since so far, many of the Creator Expert series cars we've seen are based on classic models. 3. A new 4 wide car subtheme as entry level priced sets sitting around the $5-$7 price range. I would hope though that this successor would not feature is many stickers. 4. A new RC subtheme, which perhaps may utilize current PF motors and units, but maybe we could hope introduce new PF RC units. Please add any ideas for other possible subthemes or suggestions regarding the opinions presented here!- 451 replies
