Very cute, a nice complementing rocketcraft for the Rocket Suit Boy! You mentioned making a recolored version for the Retro Space Hero with possible cockpit rotation, and I should say, many comic strip rockercraft from the 1930's had more of a teardrop shape with some having a globular front cockpit like this example pictured below. An easy cheat for a rotating cockpit in this globular style could be to use the two piece JW gyrosphere (part no. 20455) assembly mounted upfront.

LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Whatever the fate of the theme may be, I certainly hope more Nexo style parts will continue to be introduced in future sets, since I find there are a few holes that could be filled as far as some parts introduced to the theme go. For instance, part no. 22390 (pictured below) could use an appropriate non-sloped brick to fill the space in between. I also would hope to see plates in a corresponding, pointed Nexo style, perhaps matching the footprints of some already existing parts. -
This sort of cool to see, especially with the lack of coloring and dimmed lighting for observation of the film set construction. By the way, I'm not that familiar with the Gotham TV show, but does anyone know of any easter eggs or references to the show in TLBM? The show apparently has been running since 2014, so I think now it would have been significant enough for referencing in the movie like the many other films and TV shows that were featured.

I forgot about this one, was blown away at the time seeing this when I was still a lurker. I also forgot at the time about that quarter dome piece being made in Trans-yellow, then under the impression that the UCS X-Wing canopy was the largest piece made in that color. I have one of those quarter dome parts in Trans-blue from a Unitron set and have never made use of it.

Saw this on New Elementary, very impressive. I can't help but think of Stark/Avengers Tower when I see this though.

DC Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I wonder if the lighter colored torso and legs were made in mind for reusage in the comic (or JLA) based set with Cheetah rumored for next year, since hypothetically the set may use either a Rebirth or JLA styled Wonder Woman figure, and both look pretty similar to the DCEU design.- 3020 replies

2017 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Town
Brickset has just put up a new inventory of 700+ parts on their site, and this part (part no. 32739) comes in White in two sets and Orange in one set. https://brickset.com/parts/design-32739 Now I'm surprised I have not noticed this before, but windshield part no. 28782 (from TLBM Batmobile) comes in Trans. Light Blue in 60168 Sailboat Rescue for City this year. https://brickset.com/sets/containing-part-6186655 -
That's a very well designed rocket, I like its spindly landing gear!

The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
Digger of Bricks replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
This is something Peter Morris called "Classic Space Evolved", a style that reimagined many CS sets in a contemporary, homage style. I remember some of his work featured in The Lego Adventure Book Vol. 1 and The Art of Lego Design, particularly the box cockpit starfighters. Here is a Flickr album of his "Classic Space Evolved" MOCs. https://www.flickr.com/photos/rival_m/albums/72157624874025445 But yes, a competition like that would be great! I am surprised no one has done this yet, but someone should do a "evolved" Galaxy Explorer using part no. 28782 (pictured below) in Trans-yellow from TLBM Batmobile! The part's dimensions are perfect for it (6 by 6 by 2)! -
Spread the Creator Vibes Around
Digger of Bricks replied to Karalora's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Designers have so much freedom with wacky big bang themes such as Ninjago that sets could be designed with alternate builds in mind, though I'd hope the alternate builds were not as small or inferior to the star build. I know alternate builds perhaps would not be featured in the theme's tie-in TV show, but still, it expands the set's playability lifespan, keeping the kids from resorting to collecting more sets from the theme (though I know that probably is the whole point ). -
LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Many of these sets have been scaled down from the film versions, so presumably same can be said of Cole's mech, which is unfortunate since it probably will not utilize the Technic tractor tire, which was the coolest part about his mech. -
The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
Digger of Bricks replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I have shared this opinion in other threads elsewhere, but this I why I think Lego should return to the multiple model Designer template for Creator seen in sets from 2003 to 2005. The 3 in 1 template is great for Creator, but it suggests to most people limitations (though that surely isn't the case), whereas a 8+ or 15+ in one set suggests infinite possibilities from a single set, communicating to parents that Lego does not need to be a system to be collected to expand the playability lifespan of the initial set. Expanding Creator's subtheme potential to themes such as space and adventure/action fare also attracts those not interested in Creator's usual offerings to the theme, and therefore introducing them to the infinite possibilities the Lego System offers beyond the set. -
Thomas the Tank Engine and The Lego Group
Digger of Bricks replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Train Tech
One of the STUPIDEST Fisher Price products I have ever seen for the Thomas franchise are these DC and Power Rangers themed Minis packs. But seriously, does Mattel have a stranglehold on all toy merchandise for the franchise? There are many model railway companies that make Thomas products, how do merchandise negotiations work with Mattel in that case?- 75 replies

So far, it looks like this part only comes in this color in two of the second wave Elves sets. https://brickset.com/sets/containing-part-6188999 The blog New Elementary has an article about this part also. http://www.newelementary.com/2017/06/32952-new-lego-snot-piece.html -

It would be nice to have part no. 57999 (train motor wheels pictured below) in Dark Brown to pair with part no. 2871(also pictured below) in the same color from the 2016 Ninjago set no. 70589 Rock Roader. -
Lego themes that we would like to happen
Digger of Bricks replied to YellowCorvette's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well, Town did have a Outback theme composed of 5 sets back in 1997, though they weren't at all anything really exciting. https://brickset.com/sets/theme-Town/subtheme-Outback But yes, Outback could be a potential City exploration subtheme in the near future, and along with kangaroos, we could get a nice koala mold also.- 451 replies

Adventurers - 1920's vehicles, buildings, figures, and stuff!
Digger of Bricks replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Adventures is a favorite theme of mine, and you certainly have an interesting cast of characters there, assembling a shared Adventures-verse with Alpha Team, Monster Fighters, and Pharaoh's Quest joining the theme.- 38 replies

Same here, just getting a 404 not found page. When I try it backward going to the Brickshelf home page, I get a white page with only text that reads "It works!". I would love to see these creations, but Brickshelf does not seem to work for me anyway. Perhaps you could post these on MOC Pages or Flickr?

Spread the Creator Vibes Around
Digger of Bricks replied to Karalora's topic in General LEGO Discussion
YES! Lego should apply this concept as much as possible in nearly all original themes and some licensed themes where possible. It would help many kids literally think outside of the box. Also, for both Creator and other themes, I really would like to see a return to the Designer concept seen in Creator sets from 2003 to 2005 also, breaking the 3 in 1 mold. Designer sets were great as a concept because if a kid were to have only one Lego set, a single decent sized Designer set based upon his favorite subtheme would be all he needed. This is a great topic to revive in light of some current discussions on the Creator theme expanding its horizons. -
DC Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
We've seen a lot of Wonder Woman this year for many products, and I expect to see more after the potential success of the DCEU film this weekend (like WW and Cheetah next year). So perhaps we could see a comic styled Ares in some comic or TV show based set in the future.- 3020 replies

The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
Digger of Bricks replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
On the subject of CS in preexisting themes again, with the direction City has taken with exploration subthemes recently, I strongly think we could see a moonbase exploration subtheme soon here, with many of the sets taking their inspiration from CS and futuristic NASA shuttle concepts (like the X33 pictured below). This could be our strongest bet for a conflictless space exploration theme currently, though how much of its style and color scheme would take after CS I don't know. Now on a different note, would it be a stretch for Lego to do CS themed sets for Technic? Perhaps a mostly Light Bluish Grey RC moon rover with suspension would be the way to go. A Lego Space movie would be great, but I don't think Benny is popular enough to warrant a spinoff, though maybe we could see a short film starring him like The Master short attached to a major WB tentpole film. -
[MOC] Disney Collectable Minifigures Series
Digger of Bricks replied to Ashnflash's topic in LEGO Licensed
Lego should have done Snow White for Disney S1 since the film was the first full length animated feature in cinema history, along with the character being Disney's first princess. In retrospect, the choices for S1 were a nice mix but strange, since I think they should have chosen more characters from more significantly pioneering films, such as mentioned above.- 75 replies

LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion

Well, 2018 will be Castle, Space, and the Minifigure's 40th anniversaries, with 2019 being Pirates 30th anniversary, so I'm hoping for something for both occasions.
