    Super Mario 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

My hunch currently is that Super Mario was originally slated for 2021, but was pushed-up to fill the void left by a possible delaying of the in-house "Monkey Kid" theme perhaps due to the ongoing 2019-nCoV outbreak, hence why @StoneWarsDE is claiming that "Leaf" will end-up being the Super Mario theme instead.

    Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

So, has anyone here taken a stroll over to the Future CMS Rumors topic recently? Apparently @Itaria No Shintaku had this to share... That ain't quite true, as they are getting the licenses, I heard.

    Super Mario 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

I'd applaud this news given that a partnership with Nintendo has better long-term potential compared to other recent licensing deals, but given the way 2020 has been so far, my initial reaction to this announcement was unfortunately one of annoyance similar to @ARC2149Nova's and @Lego David's...

    LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

Going out on somewhat of a limb here, but if @StoneWarsDE's correct on this, could the Super Mario theme have originally been slated for 2021, trading launch dates with "Monkey Kid" in light of the ongoing 2019-nCoV outbreak, thereby pushing-up Super Mario's launch and pushing-back Monkey Kid's?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

Well, if there's gonna be such insistence to have a Marvel CMS, then an MCU-themed one would be a little more worthwhile, as there are many characters and character variants whose in-film contexts might be harder to translate into a sellable playset. Comic-based variants, on the other hand, are just too easy to shoehorn into a contrived playset, hence why the DC Series felt mostly pointless to me.

    Not City Themed People Packs

Well, in that case, I don't think it'd be wise to release multiple People Packs each based upon consecutive decades all in one wave, as they'd instead successively follow-up the themed Pack from the previous year with one themed after the following decade (i.e. the 1920's one year, the 1930's for the next, and so forth)...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

Well, Marvel was a best seller last year, so a Marvel CMF wave wouldn't be surprising I'd really hope not, as the DC Series was pointlessly redundant enough already, but if it's Itaria saying so...

    LEGO Ninjago 2020

Hmmm, I don't know for sure. As far as I know, the "evergreen theme" term wasn't used at the time Bionicle G1 was around. Perhaps Lego may've not used/adopted the term around then, but I would think a classification for such themes would've been been acknowledged at least, maybe identified as "core" themes instead? I'd imagine it'll always exist in name only at the very least, as Ninjago has shown itself to be much more loose and flexible as an in-house "Power Rangers" theme versus Bionicle with a more rigid narrative structure.

Perhaps supplementary People Packs to accompany such Creator sets could be sold under the Xtra line? P.S. I'll take ten of those Three-In-One Pulp Rocketship sets now thank you very much...

    Not City Themed People Packs

Something a little closer to City I'd like to see for People Packs would be some representation for recent decades past. It'd be incredible if City released packs made up of average urban citizens straight outta the 1920's, 1930's, 1940's, 1950's, and so forth, as the Collectable Minifigure theme's focus on occupational archetypes limits it from giving us those everyday folk that aren't necessarily defined by their occupation.

Was Bionicle G1 ever considered an "evergreen" theme at some point before it wound down?

    Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation

Well, the "sequel" that Atlantis got was just a direct-to-home release that was essentially three stitched-together episodes of a cancelled spin-off TV show.

    Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation

Given the choice, yes, I'd take a Steampunk'd Adventurers theme with an Vernian/Industrial Era setting over a Steampunk'd Pirates theme any day... Well, yes, such a theme could go that way stylistically, or it could adopt the stylistic sensibilities of Eighteenth Century associated with the Golden Age of Piracy for the sake of that vibe, all the while staying within more "realistic" confines. Think of it more as a retro-futuristic space theme, if you will...

    Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation

No, not like Treasure Planet please... ...as I've expressed here before, I would absolutely be down for a Steampunk Sky Pirates/Space Pirates theme, but one that has sail ships with thrusters slapped on is just plain lazy, as they've got to be either dirigibles or airtight enclosed space freighters with a Eighteenth Century flare. Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire is one of my favorites among those early 2000's animated movies...
