LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
TheGeneralMoe replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Has anyone thought about how with the new stormtrooper helmet having a 90 degree hangover, not only will this prevent the head from moving but also interfere with the current pauldron design? Lego may have to re-design that bit too, or it may not fit well with their new helmet. -

Some images of stormtrooper helmets support the sort of sharp downward turn...but the lego one has taken it to a sharp 90 degrees. -

The face flipping feature was always around. I believe you can even see it in a scene in ROTJ. An issue on set was the actors taking their helmets on and off between takes, which would wast time trying to adjust them when they put them back on. So George and the costume designers wanted it to have a flip up feature to let acts breath between takes. -

The figure could be some kind of generic trooper, considering there are 4 figures in the set, they have that one to fill in the gap. -

I don't think any of the Guards will have a skirt piece, it is likely to be reserved to the throne room set. A note on the juniors X-Wing, it very much reminds me of the 1999 model, but i expect the cockpit to be very open and simple. -

Looks like an open topped cloud car, with stud shooters on the side. A simple set for the target audience of the book. -

I dunno about everyone else, but the new stormtrooper helmet is starting to grow on me. it has a sort of OT look to in, slightly imperfect and such. The new moulding and printing is superb, and who knows how it will look physically. -

As an animator i am quite pleased with the movable legs. Makes them the mobile and fluid troops they are. Both options are fine, considering how lego does Jedi robes as well. -

New Stormtrooper helmet... great just when i though the designs would be consistent for army building. The printing is great and all, but the look. The deign might grow on my, it has this slightly goofy look that reminds me of the imperfections of early stormtrooper figures. -
It has arrived: My UCS Moc of the Devastator. This is my largest and most accurate model to date, started off as a rebuild of my older model which was disproportional and poorly built in some places. The Model confines al the main features including a battery of 8 turbo lasers, 2 hangers with docking arms, underside tractor beam and swappable tractor beam targeting arrays that can change the ship between a Imperial I class destroyer to a Imperial II class destroyer. The model comes on a removable start and has no interior features, apart from storage for extra parts such as plugs to fill in the stand gaps in the hanger and the secondary Tractor beam array. The bridge and superstructure come in 2 removable parts to ease the weight of his heavy model. The two destroyer variants: Glory to the Empire! This is the topic for the build process, to see how it was done: Full album with additional photos here:

Well, i was proud of it at the time, but i feel now that my ISD isn't sufficient enough. Numerous add ons and additions have made the model a bit unstable and the inaccuracies need to be addressed. The main issue however is the disproportional build! The bridge is too large and wide compared to the rest of the body, and it lacks the correct amount of hangers and indents in the panels. This is all a result of me following along the structure of set 6211, which focused on an interior, messing up the proportions. I talk about it in the original post: Now however i start from scratch, and you guys get to follow on and give out suggestions! It starts now with the gathering of extra parts and deconstructing the original destroyer. The plan is to make it bigger, more sturdy and more accurate. Got to gather up all available reference material for this beast... Last photo of it intact. Major sections now removed. I plan to keep the bridge the same, perhaps with some slight corrections. However the rest needs to be broken up and sorted... Now people can see the frame of the build, and the messy interior...

MOC/WIP Imperial Star Destroyer rebuild

Last update. The hanger has been built, now the Destroyer is finished. I will be posting pics of the completed model soon, on a separate topic. Thanks to those who offered help and support! -

Working on the final detailing, hangers and engines. Some tricky builds to pull off, but nearing completion. Bridge has interchangeable tractor beam arrays, with the spare one being stored inside the main hull, which can be seen in the top picture, near the rear. -
Looks real good. You should put the higher ranking pieces on higher platforms to make them more important. I would like to see this done with the light and dark shades of tan as the chess squares, to make it more beach like.

If people want to know what figures to use the arms with insignia on them, it's generally the ones with the crew jumpsuits and not the Guards and pilots in dress uniform. People can get references on this site, mainly from the officer detachment: http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLbydetachment

ISD Aggressor (Star Destroyer MOC w interior and instructions)
TheGeneralMoe replied to Raskolnikov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
What is the best method for holding the bottom panels in place? I assume this model doesn't use magnets like the UCS IDS does and from what i can tell the bottom panels would be much heavier! -
Do people know what sets the Pointed Mouth variant of the FO stormtrooper comes in? Like, when did they start adding them into sets? Apparently the print was changed to reflect TLJ version of Stormtroopers, which could be seen on the executioner mini figure.

We are about to reach critical mass. Heh, it's all coming together now, but still plenty of work to do. The superstructure and bridge will be complete soon, then the engine and hangers will be attended to, as well as the remaining details. -
[REVIEW] 75207 - Imperial Patrol Battle Pack
TheGeneralMoe replied to makoy's topic in LEGO Star Wars
They could have included a Patrol Trooper with the Han Solo speaker instead of the hound. Then this battle pack could have something else, like mud troopers. -

Superstructure and bridge are going well! Added the turbo lasers to the hull as well. Balancing the bridge on the structure just to give an idea of scale.
