Ragnarök Now 3: Confirmation and Discussion

Just a reminder: to make things easier for other players, please make sure you put your character's name somewhere in your signature. Thanks! -
Vote Count Brand (Brickelodeon): 9 votes (Penalty x5, Palathadric, Chromeknight, Jackjonespaw, KingoftheZempk) Mist (Mencot): 2 votes (Dragonfire, Lady K) Lambi (TheLazyChicken): 1 vote (Tamamono) 12 votes are required to lynch. 38 hours remain in the day.

You may now vote. With 23 players, 12 votes are required to lynch. 48 hours remain in the day. I have updated the rules to disallow the quoting of PMs from other players. Since this wasn't explicitly stated in the rules, and since no timestamps were used, no one who has quoted PMs prior to this will be penalised.

Ragnarök Now 3: The Heart of Darkness - Sign Ups
MagPiesRUs posted a topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
This game takes place after the events of Ragnarök Now: Redux, in which the world ended. Each of you will play the role of a Norse hero, struggling to survive in a post-apocalyptic Asgard. Game rules and mechanics will be similar to the previous two Ragnarök games. Roles will be mainly based around those used in Ragnarök Now: Redux, though there will be some changes made to reflect the flavour of the game. (None of this is vital, but here's a quick recap of where things left off): Since there have been no recent Mafia School games, and since there has been a general shortage of players lately, I will be allowing new players to sign up, provided they have a good understanding of mafia games. Experienced players will still receive first preference. To sign up, please answer these three simple questions: 1) Have you participated in a mafia game and/or passed a Mafia School game? If not, what steps have you taken to gain an understanding of EB mafia games and mafia games in general? 2) Will you be able to post regularly over the next 4-6 weeks? 3) If you have played a Ragnarök game before, do you wish to reprise your role as your previous character(s)? If you have NOT played a Ragnarök game before, you get to sit this question out! -

Ragnarök Now 3: The Heart of Darkness - Sign Ups
MagPiesRUs replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thanks for the interest everyone! I've been a little busy this week, but I hope to send out roles over the weekend. I'll keep sign ups open for another 24 hours before I finalise all the roles and characters. -
Ragnarök Now 3: The Heart of Darkness - Sign Ups
MagPiesRUs replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
By my count, we've got 17 sign ups so far, which is a little less than I'd planned for. I'll leave the Sign-Ups open for a while longer, but hope to get the game started up in the next week. You've actually played as two characters before. Do you have a preference? Dagrun and Dagstyrr the Fool -
General Discussion and Announcements
MagPiesRUs replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hopefully coming in the next week or two... -
I didn't actually start a town block group PM until Day 4, as no one was really verified until that point. That's why I kept asking you for protection. The watcher/tracker role is pretty valuable too - the information you get can't usually be manipulated (by a godfather/framer, for instance) so in some ways it's a better role than cop. That role was so ridiculous I didn't expect a scum to make it up. Plus, since the punch appeared at the start of each day, it was easy to verify. Even if you were scum, you would have been forced to keep using a useless role every night rather than taking a proper scum action. I think I was the one who first brought that up.

Thanks for another fun game Bob! The game ran very smoothly, and I enjoyed the pictures and humour you added. Great stuff! Good job, town! The scum did well enough too, I think they were just unlucky. After we lynched scum on the first day, it was always going to be hard to come back. I imagine things would have turned out a lot differently if I didn't have a role to claim that first day. This was my first time coordinating the town block, and it was a lot of fun to try things out, but I'll be happy to take on more of a supporting role next game. Too many PMs to read and too much accountability make my brain hurt. It just so happened that my copy of the Detective's Office arrived in the mail today. I'm sure I'll enjoy building Al's barbershop that much more after having played this game. To be fair, if you hadn't claimed cop, I probably would have suspected you too. I'm not sure what exactly it was though. It wasn't until I tracked you that I fully trusted you.

I guess there isn't much to discuss actually. Vote: Ann Foster (StickFig)

I'm guessing it lets Ann see what roles, if any, were directed against any one player each night. For example, she might spy on someone and see that a doctor targeted them, but not who the doctor is. It could kind of be helpful to confirm a few people, but it wouldn't be a huge loss. However, the way Ann has been behaving, combined with the fact that she was blocked on a scumkill-less night, leads me to believe she's most likely a Milano. I won't vote for her yet though, as there's still plenty to discuss and I don't want the day to finish early.

That doesn't gel with the results I've been getting. When I tracked someone who had no night action, I was told that they didn't do anything that night. I would have expected you to be told something similar if you spied on someone and saw they weren't targeted by anyone. It was only on the night I was blocked that I was told I was unsuccessful. Or do you think you were blocked all three nights?

Did all of your results say the same thing then? I would have thought that if you targeted someone who wasn't targeted at night, you would be told that, not that you were unsuccessful.

Can you at least tell us who you targeted each day and what the results were? That might actually help us.

If Eugene is to be believed, we only had one kill on Night Two because he can only kill every second day. However, last night's block is more promising, since Ace was the SK kill so apparently there was no scum kill. I'm guessing the vigilante is long gone. It was probably Katherine. I have been trying to get this cleared up with Ann in private. She has claimed to be the voyeur. However, she was very reluctant to give me this information and apparently hasn't yet got any results from her night action. It's still possible that the scum tried to kill me tonight but I was protected, but I think Ann is a pretty good lead for the moment.

From my record, it seems you hammered Irene. He voted for her after that. Not that hammering Irene is much of a town tell - Irene was pretty much confirmed scum, and someone had to do it. Not voting for her would have been suicide. As for the Russell vote, I think he was going to come up as a lynch candidate yesterday regardless.

It might be worth pointing out that Christopher voted for Brian when he wasn't in danger of being lynched and the bandwagon had clearly formed against me (though I guess maybe he didn't read that far ahead): He never did get around to explaining that vote. The rest of the votes on Brian came after I roleclaimed. Perhaps Russell was the godfather? He certainly asked to be investigated and tracked enough times.

Apparently Eric has been cleared as a townie, but of course that doesn't rule out the possibility that he's the godfather. I can almost buy that three scum would vote for Sarah in a row since Brian would have been a big loss for the scum team, and because no one would normally expect three scum to associate with each other so obviously. Eric and Irene's almost simultaneous votes for Sarah, as well as Eric's reluctance to vote for Russell yesterday, both still bother me too. Personally I think there are better options to pursue today, but what does everyone else think of Eric?

I might not be around for the rest of the day, so good luck getting a lynch! Both options seem ok to me, as long as one of them goes. If anyone hasn't yet claimed anything to me, please PM me now. If you're a vanilla, it doesn't matter, please PM me anyway. If you're not comfortable revealing your role, please PM me and tell me you're not going to claim to me. If you need a haircut, please PM me too and I'll schedule an appointment.
