[MOC] Star Wars: The X-Wing Story

Okay, thanks! However, I just realized that I have v8 downloaded, and I haven't gotten an email or anything with the newer version. How do I get that? And is the parts list different for v9 than v8?

[MOC] Star Wars: The X-Wing Story

Hello all, I just finished buying all the parts for the factory spec white version, and while I wait for the parts to come in, I just had a few comments and questions. Part 3614a (round 1x1 plate with hole, with towball) seems to be harder to come by than 3614b, which has a hexagonal hole rather than circular. I hope that won't make a big difference, but they were more commonly available. The 1x4 hinge swivel plates come in their separate pieces in the file, but apparently Bricklink does not register these pieces separately. I swapped them out for the one that registers them as together and had no problem. As for questions, which issues discussed in the thread have been fixed as of the final version? I plan, before I build this and after I sort all the pieces, to read the whole thread to prepare for issues. However, it would help to know which issues have been rectified as of v9.
  3. Does anyone have any ideas for a good scale diorama for those? I have been slightly bored recently and started thinking about building a display around it!
  4. To anyone interested in seeing the finished alternate exterior bridge for the Aggressor, here is the link to my Flickr account: https://www.flickr.com/photos/145418778@N05/ Feel free to give me any feedback or tips-Including telling me if I have to start my own thread for it ;)!
  5. This is my pre-prototype of my alternative exterior bridge. I haven't decided on how to make the sensor bar on top yet, or the rear of the bridge, but it is now the correct length and width. I am now wondering if you think the angle is too large. The bridge looks too high in the center to me. Thoughts? And yes, the top panels will fit on there! They will not be connected but slide into a hole because of the distance to the horizontal centerline and the size/shape of the bricks themselves. I do not know, however, how to put it where I want it without it connecting to anything in the studio software! So I had to leave it like this. Rest assured, it will look the same as the bottom panels when correctly positioned.
  6. rotflol hilarious, great job! I loved the sounds!
  7. I just finished the engine section! It looks beautiful! The only issue I encountered was with the bottom panels being too high to get the engine panels behind the brackets, and I discovered that my first mod had something to do with it. I had, in the tractor beam room underneath the internal bridge, put a black plate underneath the holes on either side of the walkway. I extended the hole downwards about a brick height and put a plate with tiles on it to make it look like a black hole without being able to lose any figs to the space between the bottom panels. This somehow affected the bottom panels, and once I removed them the issue went away and I was able to put the plates in with no problem. Hopefully that is the last time I take the bottom panels off, I had them on and off for about a week while I was correcting the size of the hangar bay opening!
  8. Thanks! So the actual size is the same, but you moved the shield generator dome inward?
  9. Mine is close to that, except where the rear half on yours is roughly in line with the center and the front one is a little to the left, mine are both the front half's distance from the centerline. I guess it doesn't make a huge difference though. Any particular reason you attached the dome in halves to the panels instead of attaching a full dome to the bottom of the frame through a hole in the panels?
  10. Hey Raskolnikov, I was wondering if there is supposed to a gap between the halves of the reactor bulge? The plates are on correctly and seem to fit as they should, but there is a gap between the reactor halves that is larger than you usually allow! And also Schneeds, any chance you could re-post some more pictures of your bridge mod? I've been planning a rebuild of the bridge to make it the correct width, I'd love to see what you came up with!
  11. I am planning on doing the same thing for the hangar bay! Are you going to leave a hole to the interior of the ship, or make the hangar bay scale to how it looks from the outside? I was going to make mine scale to the exterior and just make a large floor for micro-scale ships on the interior.
  12. If I'm understanding correctly (And I can't say for the Interdictor), the Aggressor can't be built properly in LDD? There are some connections that are too questionable for LDD's small mind :)
  13. Hey Rasko/Legolntje is there any possibility you guys might release some DLC on the instructions on how to convert it to the Victory-class, maybe design a way so that it's interchangeable?
  14. To be completely honest, I think this set is a huge disappointment. I would rather have had a big shell with the entire bottom, instead we have a medium-ish sized playlet. This doesn't really really count as UCS, as the UCS line is supposed to focus more on size and accuracy than playability. That landing pad looks like something a five- year- old would build when you think of the actual look of the CC landing pads. This would be fine as an expensive normal set, but this shouldn't have been considered UCS.
  15. Just saw your Beyond the Brick video Rasko! Absolutely amazing! I loved seeing the Aggressor completed, and the Tyrant is absolutely mind-blowing! Next comes the Constrictor, then the AT-AT!
  16. Hey, this looks great! Any progress on it? Also, about how much did the parts for it cost?
  17. Hey, I didn't see this either! Thanks for noticing! I just wanted to tell you that unless you are talking about the difficulty of moving the bottom panels, it isn't actually that difficult to install them. I haven't built the interior yet, and that may affect it, but for me it was simply a matter of removing some plates! Hope this helps!
  18. I'm looking at the 10188 sticker sheet and the background color for the directional arrows appears to be light gray, when the sticker is going on a DBG tile. Is the photo of the sticker sheet wrong or am I missing something, because those arrows would be white on a LBG background on a DBG tile. In the book, however, the background on the sticker is DBG like the tile. Any solutions? Could I switch out the tiles to be black and use the 75159 sheet from the new Death Star?
  19. There's a video in the book about how to do it. It's a link to a YouTube video in the bottom panels book.
  20. Which sticker sheets are required for the "Interior" book?
  21. Honestly, I prefer the first one, but overall I prefer SDs in profile anyway, so no real artistic analysis here...
  22. OK thanks, I think I will just use a LBG one. No worth paying 4 dollars for an Ebay one lol
  23. Hey, I'm building the frame, and wondering about the DBG Technic brick 6x8 (Open center). Can I use a LBG one, because apparently no store in Bricklink has a DBG one.
  24. Yes, except for the top of the bracket interferes with the arm clips that are attached to the rail above the bracket. I decided to just force it, and I finished the bridge! It's a work of art!
