LED Light kit for set 42082
marvinblue posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi all. I'm usually a City fan, but the technic set 42082 has really caught my attention and I plan on getting it real soon. Something this big deserves an LED light kit, but I don't know which one to get. There are plenty of offerings on the market (most of the sets on fishpond seem to come from one supplier), so I don't know which supplier is more reputable. Also, which one would be the easiest to install? Anything else I should know when installing lights on this set? TIA! -
Looks fantastic! Well done!

Hi there. My son just picked up 21140 and I couldn't work out what's on the transparent 1 x 1. So, the pattern definitely represents a handful of seeds?

Awesome! Looks great. Thanks for making it simple to replicate this.

I tried the six long fence, but ended up with the same result; in the end, you couldn't match a stud at the other end while keeping the profile of the curve. So, the best solution seemed to be a 1 x 1 round stud with the hole in top, as I could attach it to one of the pegs under neath the fence piece, with a tile at the other end. The ability to either use a peg or gap between the pegs under the fence gives flexibility to pick up a stud on the baseplate, while the tile allows to keep the profile of the curve. Now i have to order more bits! Once I get everything I need and finish off the project I'll share pics of the end result. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and help with this problem!!

Hi all. I'd like to follow the contours of my train line with a fence, to keep my citizens safe, as the train line passes next to my city's green space. Trouble is, I can't seem to figure out how to get the fence to follow the curved track. I've mounted a fence piece on some round 1 x 1 plates, but the stud on the baseplate is just out of reach. I've also experimented with jumpers, but they don't quite line up either, as well as the hinge piece. Is there any way of overcoming this?

Thanks everyone for your replies. The stud with the hole; I hadn't thought of that. I had tried jumpers at either end, but not the tile at one end. The alternate fence piece and the "gate" piece with a pole I hadn't thought of either. I'll have a crack at these ideas and see what works. Thanks again!

Hi there. I'd love to see these pictures. Any chance you can re-load them? Or would you be able to email them to me? Thanks! -
Hi there! Just saw this thread. Any chance you could re-load these photos? I'm looking to do the same to my 75102. Thanks!

I got her and Robin in the Catwoman chase set (where she's stealing a diamond and gettung away in her motorbike). Not bad value considering there's 3 minifigs in the set. -

No worries, thanks for that! -
Hi there! Is there anyone in this thread that has managed to download this lxf? If so, would you be able to post your copy here? I can't seem to download it. Maybe one of the moderators could help?

Love this topic and all the little details that you've produced! Where did you get the stickers to do your stop sign and the pedestrian crossings from? They look pretty cool! -
Well done on a very impressive and well thought out pair of buildings. They both look great and compliment each other rather nicely!

Hi there! I'm the same. Would it be possible to get a copy of this LDD file? TIA!

Great idea! Well done!

That price in pounds also makes it expensive for us Aussies, around the $70 mark! Hopefully the RRP was a typo... It is a really nice set though and I'll also be getting at least one, maybe have to wait for a toy sale though!

Hi Ryan, thanks for sharing! I really like the concept and design of this model. I've done this before on a crude scale to incorporate a crane and all the construction sets that I own. This is one set I would definitely buy if it were to become a production kit. Well done and keep the ideas flowing!

I plan to build mine as a "reversed" model, so it fits better into my layout. Can't wait to get it! I've got a bit of a wait though; I get a modular for my birthday, but mine isn't until November. I love seeing all these builds and reading all the comments though.

What was your first major City/Town building?

My Dad told me a while ago that this was my first set: http://i68.servimg.c.../73/361-210.jpg The set that I remember most fondly as 6382: http://i68.servimg.c...73/6382-110.jpg As a side note, I really like the modified design of 6385: http://i68.servimg.c...8/73/638510.jpg -
Hi there toorayay. Love this building and the details that you've crammed into it. Do you have any plans on LDD for it? Would love to build it for my City. Thanks and keep on with the awesome MOC's!

Hi all! For those that have a copy of this kit, how many bags come in the box? I bought one from eBay and picked it up the other day, but the factory seals were loose on one end. The seller assures me that everything is there, just want to double-check, that's all! I'm not allowed to build it until my birthday which is another six weeks away, so I can't find out that way until then. There certainly was a lot of stuff in the box, just covering all bases. Can't wait to build it! TIA!

I checked my set when I got home last night. Everything is there, as I thought it would be. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for that! Looks like it would be painful to intergrate into the Infra Red setup. Good work on making it work in your City though!
