  1. Sorry to bump an old thread, but I've decided due to lack of space and other AT-AT's in my collection I'm not going to proceed with this one. My piece list is at 87%. If anyone is contemplating this MOC I would be willing to give a great deal on what I have acquired so far just to get it out of here. Could also figure out a way to export you my BrickLink list so you can see what pieces are outstanding.

I mean, yes it can, for those of us who have never seen a live one or appreciate this is a stylised toy.

I've never seen a live one either, but I don't understand how they could do such a nice job making that head sculpt (looks fantastic), yet can't be bothered to do a minor modification to the feet. As soon as I saw the first image my eyes were instantly drawn to the feet as the sickle claw stuck out like a sore thumb. :sceptic:

Keep in mind I also collect $500+ Jurassic Park statues so it's become habitual to me to impulsively visually scan images of new things from head to toe to ensure it's spot on or not. I understand this isn't the same caliber so shouldn't be scrutinized as much.

  3. Guys, this is some awesome stuff you've all done!! I took the plunge and ordered the UCS Falcon tonight so I'm looking through this thread with great interest. Modifying the cockpit to look better/hold Han and Chewie will be number one on the hit list, followed by some interior decorating and getting some kind of LED strip for the engine.

Also for those who display it in a coffee table, can you recommend any that you can buy at stores like Ikea or did you all get one custom made?

Or maybe not another sets for Jurassic Park, but maybe The Lost World and JP 3 sets? In my opinion, that would be much better.

Definitely, but I figured since it is JP's 25th this year they would stick with that theme. There could be some great sets from both, espeically TLW. The Mobile RV Lab? Workers Village? Hunters Camp?

  5. I like the JP set we got with the Fallen Kingdom line. I want to get it just for the minifigures. My hope is that they give us at least one or two more set during the 25th anniversary celebration. I think a lot of us would love to get a T-Rex Breakout set with a couple Jungle Explorers, a few fence segments, and even a little washroom shack. That T-Rex Breakout on LEGO Ideas would be ideal.

Another great set would be the Velociraptor Paddock, and Nedry's Dilophosaurus encounter. :classic:

You can sell however you like. If you are just doing a few, stick the remnants on ebay calling them opened but sets without the minifigures. If you are doing a lot of sets, you can sell part by part via bricklink.

Job lots of mixed up parts are not worth much, since nobody knows what is in there and it could just be junk. AT least if you sell sets minus figures, people know what they are getting.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I understand what you're saying about selling sets minus figures. Is this a good forum to sell on? Are there people who buy parted out sets? I want to avoid eBay at all costs. The fees are just to much.

  7. First off my apologies if this is not the right place for this thread.

I have a question about parting out some sets. I was looking at what I had and realized I really only like the minifigures or certain accessories that came with the sets. For example I have the T-Rex Tracker set from Jurassic World 2015, but I only ever see myself displaying the T-Rex figure and Hoskins minifigure.

So, I was thinking I could remove the things I like from some sets and then sell the parted out set. What is the proper way to go about doing this? Do I disassemble the sets and just sell as a lot of bulk LEGO? Do I have to divide the pieces up into proper categories for bulk selling? Or just simply list the list- less certain things? If it matters the sets would be modern Star Wars and Jurassic World 2015.

Any advice on this will be appreciated. :classic:
