What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?

Bought 75018 Imperial Troop Transport (i don't like their design. Would have taken 5 BPs if they were OT style) 75019 Shadow Troopers some time ago. Today caught 2 x 75081 T-16 Skyhopper on a sale.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

Honestly spoken, i don't think that they would go that path. The SW line of TLG is heavily focused on minifigs. Most sets are being designed around them and not the reverse, i think. I actually don't know if that Echo base rumor is reliable. If just a rumor - why not expecting a new Cloud City?! ESB most likely the most famous episode. While the battle on Hoth is pretty memorable, so is Bespin and the movie scenes on it. I pretty much prefer this over the x-th Echo Base incarnation. By the way, i am surprised that no SW-pics from the toy fairs trickle through. Isn't at least the first supposed to be over already?

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

From the (blurry) pics i have seen so far, i can safely say that i will have to get the Tydirium and the final duel set. They both look awesome and are must-haves for an AFOL, i think. Regarding the design, the Lambda class shuttle might appear to be a little oversized but it is full of details such a shuttle is supposed to have. The final duel reminds me of Palpatine's arrest, which i actually like a lot. I have no problem with TLG's general tendency to make the sets more playable. At least they have found ways to keep them accurate and displayable so far. This mixture makes for success as the ISD and Mos Eisley have shown. The flash speeder looks interesting - also because of the minifigs to populate our shelves. The Naboo fighter insted does not interest me at all. The Gozanti cruiser gets me intrigued. While i don't like the rebels series (it simply is not pointed at my age range), bigger starships remain rare but are an important element of that universe. Since interior matters a lot to me, i wait for better pics. Pricing remains an issue and the price/part ratio not always makes for a good indicator, since pieces have become smaller (several pieces are used instead of one - although one would be available). I am interested in the prospected pricing in Europe. Hopefully they won't slap us here. The last wave was kept within the reasonable - i take this as a good sign.

It might have already have been discussed and been missed by me: Do we already know whether the named sets we do know of yet will be microfighters? I think of the Flash Speeder, TIE Fighter and such... While the now available Shadow Trooper Set shows connection to "The Force Unleashed" - i wonder whether this might also be a hint at upcoming story arcs of EP VII...

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?

At 29.6% off i couldn't resist. I have spent years waiting for a new ISD. 6211 reached astronomous prices here in Germany. I rather buy muliples of sets i like than going for something different i basically don't want to have at all.

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?

Just ordered another 2 x 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer (for a total of four) and 2 x 75052 Mos Eisley Cantina to make Tatooine a more lively place. These are really lovely sets!

Not necessarily and i hope they don't do that. Just have a peek at this great review: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44199 Twelve years before the 2015 waves, they managed to create the excellent result with a mere 700 pieces. With today's pieces selection and building techniques at hand, they might very well achieve a great result without making the set too expensive. 2012's Jabba's Palace is a great set and very well can stand on it's own. I like it very much and own two of it. Counting the pieces it was too expensive, yes, but has a great number and selection of rare minifigs and special pieces in a rare colouring. It's main drawback is the separate Rancor's pit which was terribly overpriced (i speak for Europe of course) and offered too little (only the Rancor himself) for a high retail value. Spreading Cloud City over several sets and maybe even several waves would be the worst decision TLG might make, i think. I hope they will go the more obvious - and in regards of expected sales - more promising way.

Basically you are right. Nevertheless - in this special case - an OT fan could be disappointed without even seeing pis. If this really were a REBELS set, we can expect to get the stormie design of the series. This would disappoint people like me who long for a small set containig regular stormies of the new OT design. Except for the ISD they are hard to get. But OT fans want them and intend to buy multiples of a BP or at least small set. We want the 'original' soldiers and not the comic dudes. With the REBELS series deserving and getting a lot of attention in regards of upcoming sets, there is plenty of chance to throw in a stormie here and there. Meanwhile OT sets become few and far between. Therefore i see enough reason to be disappointed by the mere knowlegde of the ITT being one more REBELS set.

    [REVIEW]: 75058 MTT

After seeing your fine review it was only a matter of seconds and i ordered this one... I don't own any previous version of the MTT but of course i had to look after them for comparison. The piece(minifig)/price ratio of course was better in the past. Nevertheless this new set has it's own merits. I like the clean design and colour scheme. Not to forget the play functions buried within this seemingly small set. I guess that it promises countless hours of playing fun for kids while bolstering the minifig and droid ranks of everyone's Republic/Separatist army. I personally did not own any Padawan Obi-Wan before and i am also glad to finally get a non-CW STAP. I also have a weak spot for the Trade Federation and it's impressive arsenal of military forces. Their performance and cunning weren't shown in a good manner in TPM but still this is a sizeable force impressed me a lot when watching the movie. While size always impacts the display value of a set, the design beauty also is important. With the exception of a few exposed technic beams (at least they are black and don't stand out too much) this is a valuable display set. I'd like to this set and review being indexed.

    [Review] 2014 AT-AT 75054

Thank you for this insightful review! I already own 8129 and initially intended to not buy this one. After reading your review and glancing at the nice pictures, i reconsidered and got one for several reasons. While i am not the greatest of friends to the redesign of the new snowies (although i suppose the white skirts look better on them than anticipated), i think that the new AT-AT itself is a very good reiteration. I like the bigger cockpit for two minifigs and also the durable and poseable construction. It looks a bit more massive than the old one and also does not fall over that easily. Last but not least - it never is a mistake to have more than one AT-AT for any serious imperial strike force. Again - thanks for your effort - and i would love to see this review indexed. Edited: typos

This definitely is a beautiful set! One clear accurate design of one of the most iconic SW starships! I usually am not so much into UCs sets - they lack functions and playability/poseability. Still, this is a real gem. I only wish it had an interior. The minifigure selection is absolutely plausible and Boba's new print also is adorable. The Bespin Guard seriously rises my hopes for a new Cloud City which is long overdue!

    What's your latest acquisition?

I ordered 70403 Dragon Mountain. Basically bought it for the Dragon which is well designed and printed. To get such a rare creature in LEGO terms at this price point is great. The rest of the set is nice, especially because of the (albeit small) interior gadgets and the minifig designs and prints. The general color sceme looks a little much generic but i think that the set overall fits well into any medieval or fantasy setting.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

Well, the rumored setup sounds promising. I would love to have the ITT being OT style and guess that i am going for quite a bunch of them then. As far as i can see - i will get everything PT/OT. However, a faint of doubt overcomes me about the categorisation: While kind of Geonosis troopers might very well appear in the Rebels series (possible hint at a prominent place some action might take place), i actually cannot find any reason why a starfighter of Anakin or a Hailfire Droid will celebrate appearance in the cartoon stuff. Thus i expect the categories to be a guess - and not more. The Geonosis troopers are likely AOTC ones and the Hailfire, too. All this makes me very caoutious before we get any prelim pics. When are we supposed to get any prelim pics, any rule of thumb at hand?

What Star Wars set would you never ever sell?

This question isn't the easiest to answer - at least in my case. I have sorted out quite a few of my sets that i plan to keep for my lifetime. These are (in chronological order): 8038 - Battle of Endor 10198 - Tantive IV 7965 - Millennium Falcon 9493 - X Wing 75052 - Mos Eisley Cantina 75055 - Imperial Star Destroyer Two things are to be noted: - All those sets are OT. In fact i could basically consider to sell anything PT or EU (except for two small misfits i don't own anything CW). - Two of the sets are of the 2014 lineup. This is a good sign hinting at the future as i think that the second wave (unlike the first) is a very good one and TLG still is able to (re)create and improve existing spots of the theme. If i really had to choose one single set - it would have to be 7965 - Millennium Falcon - because that ship is the item where the most and fondest childhood memories of mine circle around. The depiction of this 2011's set is a pretty good one and the minifig assortment is excellent, too.

Sry for doing a quote on this again but you might notice that some of the sets have a trademark sign attached. I assume that those respective sets contain protected original material of the movies while the rest is EU stuff. While i too long for a battlepack of stormtroopers, it seems as if the troop transport isn't part of the canon (i.e. a Rebels set as outlined). And as pointed out before, i don't like the Rebels's stormie helmets. Thus my interest points towards the 'normal scale' sets. Hopefully there will be room for something especially notable like a Cloud City set (marking the 15th anniversary of TESB... ). Regarding the new helmet props - they look intrigueing to me. Curiosity and anticipation for EP VII grow...

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

The cartoon crap really doesn't impress me much, sry. They look just wimpy - even from the outside. My Lego SW collection measures more than 5k EUR (as a collector, more than 90% are MISB still). Only one single time did i commit the mistake of buying something cartoony: It was the two BPs of 2011. By then i did not even know of the cartoon stuff and being mislead by the box illustration, i did not suspect what would come out (picture taken from a review - kudos to the respective poster): As you can imagine, i was ready to pu** all over. This is neither LEGO, nor is it Star Wars. Just rubbish (just to let you know - this is supposed to be a Mandalorian warrior). Still, it is almost as ugly as the skeleton-ghoulish design of the animated series. However, silly cartoon crap can indeed inspire fear. I guess that you can freak the hell out of a kid by showing this creepy stuff to him/her. Maybe the Rebels' Stormies will have printed tears or anything of similar silliness on their heads. It would fit to the helmet design perfectly well. Therefore i will certainly stick to my inclination of not buying anything cartoony. Never! 30 EUR wasted is enough for me. I do not regret any single other buck i did spend on my collection. As a preemptive sidenote: I consider to buy some flesh heads and exchange the ones of the original product. The rest of the content is acceptable. The CW clone trooper BP was a full mistake, anyway. Sry for this short rant. Apart from that, i am very curious for the upcoming sets. Hopefully we will finally see Sand people!
