"Let's Finish This the Way it Started.... Together"
Mr_Malfoy replied to Infomaniac's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nice MOC ! I was able to go a Monday night press screening, and this scene was dramatic and actually improved the film (the whole movie was EPIC.) I give HP 7.2 a n :sweet: :sweet: -
I was just about to say that the idea of Collectable Minifigures in gumball machines would be really cool, but looks like I was beaten to it!

TLG gets greener (ie. more environment friendly)
Mr_Malfoy replied to Sandy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm glad TLG is going green. As for smaller box sizes, I also saw the Burrow in a smaller box (It was so small, I would feel ripped off spending $60 on a small box, but I got it last year in a large box, so no worries for me). -
Which way up do you put the hands on your minifigs?

Flat Side Up. Is there any other way? -
Awesome MOC!! I love the lighting

The Unexpected Treasure
Mr_Malfoy replied to Stormbringer's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
This is hilarious! I love the way you set up the story. -
Very nice entry! Your version of the fountain is WAAY better than TLG's.
-
Yes, the castle from 2007 did have some nice details (and the woman everybody hates: Umbridge= ), but it felt too open, like as if the walls didn't exist.
-
I arranged it like this: (from left to right) Dumbledore's Office, Great Hall, 4867, Gryffindor Tower, Dobby's Release, Astronomy Tower.
-
Wow ! This is the coolest entry I've seen. What theme and minifigure are Tia Dalma's clothes from? I may have to use those for a custom one myself.
-
Nice vignette You really captured the iconic scene, good luck in the contest!
-
Great entry in the contest! You captured the 3rd movie's depressing opening scene very well, and I think the black walls actually add to the gloom and sadness.

I picked this one up at a REALLY DUMPY Target today, making it the 6th PotC I've purchased (The Mill, Whitecap Bay, Isla De Muerta, Fountain of Youth, Queen Anne's Revenge, and this). It's actually a cute little set to combine with the QAR.
-
I'm pretty sure that any sets of that theme with Sarah Palin( ) in it would sell like hotcakes...
-
At a Target today I saw 7949 Prison Carriage Rescue, 7942 Off-Road Fire Rescue, 7977 Seabed Strider, and one or two other sets I can't remember for $8.00 each. I was mad at the display, though. There were some Halo M@?#BL)*KS mixed up with the sets. I was so ticked!

The famous last words of a British lord who ruled over the EITC and was a madman obsessed with power .
-
PotC for me. The sets and minifigs are very well-designed. Especially compared to the 2009 CP sets. I took one look at them and . They're awful (except for the IFS, which is awe-inspiring).
-
I think this set is rather wonderful. I have to agree with Dreamweb, when we first heard of the Black Pearl, everyone was expecting a set on the scale of the giant Death Star, but it's just a regular set. I definitely think that a larger Flying Dutchman set is further down the line. I'm also hoping for a Port Royal and a Tortuga or Singapore set.
-
Great MOC! I love the way you designed the Kraken . My only little gripe is that Jack didn't have his hat during the battle (and for most of the film), until the Kraken spat it out right before it dragged the Black Pearl to the depths.
-
It's a well-designed outpost. I love the way the dock looks crooked.

[quote name='ceroknight' date='18 June 2011 - 10:23 PM' We ended up agreeing that there should be a sequel. ] Well, I heard that there might be a trilogy, so your wish could come true after all

Since this has been bumped back up, I have: 1. The Geisha (Collectable Minifigures) 2. The Witch (The Wicked one from the West )(Collectable Minifigures) 3. Bellatrix Lestrange (Harry Potter) 4. Narcissa Malfoy (Harry Potter) 5. New Minerva McGonagall (Harry Potter) 6. Pompona Sprout (Harry Potter, Coming soon... when I buy 4867 Hogwarts) 7. Syrena (PotC) 8. Tamara/Mermaid (PotC) 9. Elizabeth Swann (PotC)

Great review, CloneyO ! When I first the toy fair pics of this set, I decided right then and there that I was only going to get this set for Narcissa , but the rest of it is pretty nice too.

So far, only one, the QAR, but it's definitely the best pirate ship I've seen. I'm planning to get the BP when it comes out, and maybe the Imperial Flagship (But if they make a British or EITC ship in the PotC theme, then maybe not.)
