Review: 6857 - The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape
Mr_Malfoy replied to AlexScammer's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nice review! I bought the set with 6862 on the Thursday after Christmas. It's a really nice set. But my Wonder Woman minifigure's front torso is faded and smudged. There really seems to be a problem with the minifigure quality in this theme so far. I'm planning to buy Catwoman Catcycle City Chase next (Try saying that 5 times fast! ). -

What will you remember from 2011 with Lego?
Mr_Malfoy replied to eliminator's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm going to remember a lot of things about LEGO in 2011: * The announcements of Super Heroes, Lord of the Rings, and Dino * The AWESOME Pirates of the Caribbean sets, the Pirates of the Caribbean video game * More LEGO Harry Potter sets, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 * How difficult it was for me to get a Diagon Alley * Joining Eurobricks after lurking for a while * Christmas 2011 (8 brand-new sets!) As for 2012, I'm focusing on Super Heroes, Dino, Minifigures, and if rumors are true, the Potc Flying Dutchman and more HP. I'm also going to try organizing my collection -
7327 Scorpion Pyramid for 30% percent off at Target. I called the store late last night to see if they had any left. The person they had only two left, and they couldn't reserve clearence items. I ran there early in the morning today, only to find they must've had at least a dozen.

Even though I'm not a fan of LOTR, I might buy the "Shelob Attacks" set, for 3 reasons: 1, if Frodo really has a ring, I'll use it to complete the three Deathly Hallows, and 2: Shelob would make a much better Aragog than the one in 4738 Hagrid's Hut, and 3: if Gollum looks right, he make pass for a Inferi.
-
I guess I want a mixture of both.

I'm not sure where this should go... I decided to dump my plans for a brickfilm of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and decided on a much older, yet grander story: the story of the Exodus. I already have most of the film planned out, but I need a little help on some matters. For the grand, sweeping shots of the the desert, Goshen, and Egypt, should I build minifigure-scale or micro-build it? I also want to make statues of gods and goddesses to decorate places like Pharaoh's Palace. I want to showcase the following deities: The gods and goddesses are (from left to right): Horus ( God of the king, the sky and vengeance), Set (God of storms, the desert, and chaos), Thoth (God of wisdom and the moon), Khnum (God of creation and the waters), Hathor (Sky-goddess of love, beauty, motherhood, foreign lands, mining, and music), Sobek (God of Nile products and Fertility, Patron of the Army and Military), Ra (God of the Sun), Amun (King of the Gods), Ptah (God of creation, the arts and fertility), Anubis (Protector of the dead and embalming), Osiris (God of the afterlife), and Isis (Goddess of motherhood, magic and fertility). I also want feature to Sekhmet (my favorite Egyptian deity ) (Goddess of warfare, pestilence, the desert and destruction). As I can't find a picture of her that is postable, she's basically a woman dressed in Ancient Egyptian queen's clothes with a lioness's head, and wears the sun disk on her head. Remember, don't anger The Eye (and Wrath) of Ra!

Awesome MOC! The scale is perfect!

5882 Ambush Attack from the LEGO store at South Shore Plaza. It's a really good battle pack set, so I plan on getting another.

Review: 5885 Triceratops Trapper
Mr_Malfoy replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice review! That Triceratops is the best new dinosaur. When they become available on Bricklink, I might buy a few to make a herd of them. -
Review: 5887 Dino Defense HQ
Mr_Malfoy replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Um, LEGO already made a Stegosaurus. I guess that you could do the legs, head, and tail (with "thagomizers" attached), seperate from the body (with plates attached). I probably wouldn't be more exspensive than the other dinosaurs. As for Therizinosaurus, eh... not likely. Have you thought of making a MOC of one? -
Pictorial Review: 5882 Ambush Attack
Mr_Malfoy replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I just got it today at a LEGO store, and it was $12. It's a nice set, though. I guess that it's $12 and not $10 because of the cost of molding the Coelophysis. -
If this rumor is true, then... there goes my money! I hope that if it's real, that some new minifigs will be in it.

Review: 5887 Dino Defense HQ
Mr_Malfoy replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
(Wow,I haven't posted on here for a long time.) Great review! I love the pic of the T-Rex eating the guy. If that minifig's a lawyer, everybody's lucky. I'm not sure if I like the coloration of the Coelophysis, but I'll still get this set anyway. As for the "Raptor": it's too small to be Velociraptor mongoliesis or Dromaeosaurus albertensis, so it's most likely Utahraptor ostrommaysorum. However, I'm kind-of dissapointed that the only herbivore species in this theme is Triceratops horridus (meaning "horrid three-horned face"). I hope that if the rumored summer wave is real, more herbivores will appear. If the herbivores have to be able to fight, the most likely are: Stegosaurus stenops, Ankylosaurus magniventris, and Pachycephalosaurus wyomingensis. -
Hmm, some of these, probably not. If the theme actually turns out to be a JP theme , the line-up will probably be more like: Tyrannosaurus Rex (JP 1, 2, 3) Velociraptor (JP 1, 2, 3) Triceratops (JP 1, 2, 3) Stegosaurus (JP 2) Brachiosaurus (JP 1 & 3) Parasaurolophus (JP (1, 2, 3) Dilophosaurus (JP 1) Gallimimus (JP 1 & 2) Pteranodon (JP 3) Spinosaurus (JP 3) Pachycephalosaurus (JP 2) Compsognathus (JP 2 & 3) Ankylosaurus (JP 3) EDIT: I also hope that the dinosaurs are in the proper porpotions, and not "one size fits all".

I think that if LEGO wants to give this theme a proper send off, they should make 1 or 2 sets for each movie. Price: $14.99 4844 The Forbidden Corridor Minifigs: Harry Potter (uniform), Ron Weasley (uniform), Hermione Granger (uniform), Quirinus Quirrell (PoP hood, reversible head with Voldemort on the back). Creatures: Fluffy (new, more detailed mold), 2 bats. Main Build: Corridor building of Hogwarts with 3 levels: first level with cobwebs, torches, harp, and trapdoor, second level with 2 rooms: one with lots of Devil's Snare and second room with arches, winged keys (5 with white wings, 1 with blue wings) and a broomstick. Third level with 2 rooms: first room with small chessboard with several chess pieces (black and white), and second room with Mirror of Erised, Sorcerer's Stone and lots of fire. General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Mr_Malfoy replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Nice. How did you light up the cabin? -
The snake-person looks nice on the poster. However, I like the sound of Cole's Tread Assault the best. After all, he share my first name!
-
Hmm... I absolutely LOVE dinosaurs... if they're not crazy looking, I might to look at this theme!
-
Thanks. I cut it down to 13. Maybe a little much, but I think I'll start making ideas for location sets soon. Hmm...Geonosis arena... To Be Continued...
