I'm surprised that in a world where schools use whiteboards because blackboards were considered racist and Lego's Boba Fett spaceship had a name change because the original name had awkward racial connotations.. They're still officially calling their evil space criminal faction Blacktron. I would have expected it to be renamed "enemy ship" or "Shadowtron" or something -

They'd work well in an apartment building together, I've already seen people like emmasaurus comparing the room sets to a TikTok house with the screens, phones, ring lights, characters having an online presence as influencers etc. I wonder if Friends will ever go full meta and have one of the characters being a LAN member? It'd get more sales for Lego if kids realise that career path exists! I imagine we'll see rooms for all the new characters within the first couple years of the reboot, assuming the initial 4 sell well. I just hope the current Paisley's House set isn't setting a precedent for what the boy's houses will be like. I'll still get Paisley's House eventually to support the reboot and because it has the widowed husband minidoll, Jonathan. I'm a bit surprised that Nova's parents are allowing their teenage daughter to be alone in her room with a boy. I wonder if our implied LGBTQIA+ representation in the reboot will end up being Zac or Nova? Though it looks like Charli may be covering some of that with the gender neutral name and look? Also, I want to know what Zobo is doing now? It'd be a fun Easter egg if he turns up on a sticker sheet hosting his own talk show on a TV screen or something . I might add him into The Community Kitchen set from the summer wave as a food mixer or a homeless robot seeking oil and shelter. -

That's a great idea. You need to post pics when you do. I hope Lego are properly committed to their gender equality and we get all 8 friend's houses as sets like Autumn's House. They did it eventually with the G1 Friends, though leaving the darkest skinned girl's house until last and shoehorning in a Caucasian girl who wasn't even a member of the black family so the set still had white representation didn't sit super well with me for diversity reasons. I mean, I still bought it at a discount, it's a great build; but it did scream "Lego don't think black minidolls sell" Hope I don't have to wait 8 years for all 8 houses lol -

all minidoll hair/hats fit minifigures. Sometimes hair that goes over the shoulders doesn't look ideal, but they all fit. The top of minidoll heads are the same design/dimensions as minifigure ones. Ordered Leo's Room since it might retire early if children don't buy it because of a lack of female characters. Also because I want boy focused Lego Friends sets to do well. Besides, someone somewhere will complain that the darker skinned character is working in the kitchen with a whip behind him while the light skinned character is directing him. Because people love reading unintended motives into innocent things. Yeah, just want to make sure I have the "Look no girls, Lego Friends is totally for both genders" set in case it retires early -
Harumi the vindictive murderer who was totally on board for turning citizens into zombies only turned against The Crystal King because she blamed him for the death of her biological parents (total hypocrisy when she was fine with killing her adoptive parents). That was not a redemption, she hasn't demonstrated any desire to do the right thing for the right reasons yet. I doubt she'll be back as the main villain anyway as her character is too problematic. The fact Lloyd consistently wanted to bone someone who only abused and psychologically manipulated him felt like when an abused girlfriend keeps going back to the abusive boyfriend no matter how many times he puts her in hospital because she thinks she can change him. If Harumi joins the good side and all is forgiven, Lego are basically saying abuse and gaslighting etc is ok. If she stays evil, all the Twilight girls who wanted to see the nice character marry the abuser will complain because her one moment of revenge means she's "good now" . I think the series is best sticking with Tommy Andreason's statement about letting the viewers decide and not featuring Harumi much ever again, if at all. Why she didn't just ascend to the throne after arranging her parent's death and pass new laws putting evil characters in charge still feels like a plot hole. But this is Ninjago lol

And Cyrus Borg, though one of the minifigs in set 60388 has his face, so we do now have all the parts available to make our own. Just been thinking about the Empress mech (if the set names are real) After assassinating her parents, if royal succession works in Ninjago like it does here, Harumi is Empress now.

Anyone who's MOC'd a Gayle Gossip minifig for Dareth to lust over.. Lego Friends is giving us a Mobile News Unit in the summer wave. Set 41749 - 446 pieces. Could have potential to be repurposed for Ninjago City News?

Does anyone have the Heartlake Stories episodes uploaded to YT or a google drive or anything? They'd be cool to see. Can't seem to find them on the British YT. There's a new character called Gertrude in set 41742. I assumed she was Olly's cat (she's the grey cat in that set according to NewElementary) but maybe she's Autumn's? Though it's not unusual to have random letter magnets on a fridge so it might not refer to anyone? Unless Autumn's dad's name begins with G? Maybe he'll be in the stable set in the Summer wave? I'm excited to see how the Heartlake City Community Kitchen, Heartlake City Community Center, and the Mobile News Unit turn out. I wonder if the kitchen will be like a soup kitchen for the homeless? -
Hehe. I think it was a certain LAN member who said that once the initial planned run of the current style of Super Mario was complete, there's a chance of the theme switching to minifigures.

I mean, unless there have been deaths or major arguments, I assume Mia would still be in contact with the other 4? Stephanie's on the wall in Autum's house, she could even be Autumn's other parent if Lego were feeling super progressive? Imagine a cute story where the OG 5 get together to dig up a time capsule they buried when they were young and share their memories with the G2 Friends? I can imagine the OG five becoming influential humanitarian role models who get invited into The International School to inspire the next generation. Or a cross-generational sub theme (that will never happen) of 5 sets with Emma making art with Liann, Stephanie cooking with Leo, Mia rescuing cats with Olly, Andrea singing with Paisley and Olivia doing intelligent person stuff with Aliya. I was just thinking, it'd be so cool if Emily or Sophie from Lego Elves were a parent or teacher to one of the new main characters as a cute Easter egg to the other great minidoll theme. One of them could be the author of Aliya's fantasy book/movie. We've already seen Noctura in the Theatre school set. I doubt it would ever happen, but it'd be so fun. -

And people say Olly isn't being coded as gay (joking, my money's on Leo; if anyone) Weirdly, the new issue of the Lego Friends magazine that just hit the shelves in the UK suggests that we'll still be seeing the 5 OG friends in the next issue due at the end of January 2023. It'd be cool if it features all 13 characters as a sort of 'Handover' from one generation to the next -
I don't hate him, he seems sweet mostly. The way he calls everything Lego produces Awesome, and barely ever criticises their products can feel like he's pandering to The Lego Group rather than being fully honest, but I watch his videos to make my own decision on the sets anyway. I've noticed he can sometimes reply to comments on his videos quite sarcastically with an attitude he doesn't show in his videos, but people are usually the worst version of themselves through the anonymity of the internet; just look at the Licenced Theme chat on here, or any thread where anyone dares to have an unpopular opinion lol I've seen videos on YT from his Lego discussing/reviewing enemies accusing him of reporting other LAN members to Lego for leaking pictures/info but they tend to angrily rant a lot (one of them calls him "AshNRat"), so I just block them. I don't need negativity in my Lego experience. The way Ash comes across in his review of Zane's Ice Dragon Creature didn't sit well with me. He refused to build/review the alternate build which felt like he was just in it for notoriety and free Lego rather than putting in the effort to give the fans a proper overview of the product. That's the only real gripe I've ever had with his content. He did seem a bit burnt out and unenthusiastic in a lot of his December content, so maybe he's been a bit depressed. That's understandable. On the whole he seems like a decent, well mannered guy to me.

The Azure Lion and The Golden Winged Eagle are both partially covered in/made of ink. The Yellow Tusked Elephant doesn't have any ink and he has the biggest villain set in the wave so far. I think the Elephant may be in charge and has summoned all the other demons from the scroll maybe? Though his vehicle has scales and snake imagery, which gives a measure of credence to the fanwank theory that the big reveal could be that The Python Demon from the book could be behind everything maybe? He has shadow powers and a red motif in the novel, so he could even be connected to The 6 Eared Macaque's faction. I still hope the brown chicken is the big bad though

I'll laugh so hard if the brown Chicken from the polybag and Hideout sets is the main villain. Lego have a history of evil chickens with Wu's chicken nemesis in Ninjago....

The more I think about it being 4+, the more I expect it to be a franchise that doesn't interest me. But worst case scenario, maybe it'll be like Star Wars, Harry Potter and Marvel where I have no interest in the theme; but still buy lots of the sets for useful parts or to adapt the builds for my own MOC themes etc.

Just been re-watching Lego Friends: Girls on a Mission and remembered how I wished they'd put recurring characters like Jeremy Dore, Dr Alvah, Ricky, Joey, Carter Greene, Hazel, Lucas, Laura, Barney etc. in sets. Especially the villains, it limited the adventure scenarios that kids could act out with the toys. I hope the new 2023 show uses more characters appearing in sets in significant roles so the play experience for kids feels more complete. -

I bought 2 of the calf/piglet set, the first one from Lego when it was released and the second one a few months later when it was reduced in price at Smyth's. It was exclusive to Smyth's Toys in this country, so lack of distribution probably hurt sales? Or maybe kids only like conflict in a box, such as the Police subtheme, nowadays? -
It'd be so awesome if it was Bluey! Especially if it was minifig based. Though Bluey would finally convince me to grudgingly experiment with Duplo. Winnie The Pooh would be awesome too! There's so many characters and locations we still need. I remember when Disney admitted that Winnie The Pooh was more popular than Mickey and Friends a few years ago, so I'm sure it would sell well.
