Hi Brickmamba, here in switzerland I see the set all over the place in toy stores (where normally there's no modular building...) and it's on sale It's a great build and even if there are some similarities with the upcoming Town Hall, the building experience will for sure be different. I would get it if I were you, the interior is very detailed and the brick colors are just great. Kind regards, SwissBrick

THANK YOU BrickBox!!! As for your comments, you are definitely right, a pitched roof would look much better, maybe with the windows "poping" out of the roof like in the blue building of the Pet Shop. Thank you Redhead1982! Yes, it was 99.9% made out of FB, besides the white pieces for the balcony. So I still have plenty of pieces remaining to make the interior... Unfortunately I cannot figure out how to upload larger pictures (total size allowed for all pictures is 100KB... I might do something wrong though...) Cheers from Switzerland

Green Grocer, definitely!!! Then Café Corner, ahh the first one alwways has a special place (but not the first place though, Green Grocer improved all the small "defaults" like the lack of interior...) The Pet Shop (I didn't liked it much until I built it and I now believe it really suits the with CC & GG) Fire Brigade And finally Grand Emporium eventhough it still remains a fantastic set! But I think I mostly dislike the colors.

As said before "uhhhh you sold it???" Dear JJG, you must be an artist of some kind, doing lots of creative things of all sorts or am I wrong? As I am starting my first moc and seeing the gap with your "work..." my brain is telling me, "uh he probably does even more impressive things with other stuff, that's why he needs room on his table..." Otherwise, if you don't, have you ever thought of applying at some of the job opportunities at jobs@Lego, like head of modular buildings series...:-) Thanks for sharing, I never had the hole story! Who would believe that TLG would send a few 10224 sets to Romanian Lego shops and have a release date in March as we are mid-Jan??? I think the Town-Hall will be available on Feb 1st.

OUPS I NEEDED A FLASH PLAYER UPDATE Any pictures of the back of the box are probably very awaited... Was someone able to photoshop and zoom in the front box to see the height of the building?

Reminds me of the Back to the Future Town Hall but my memory might be "corrupted" as I am definitely fond of this set, can't wait to see the interiors... I had been disappointed at first with the Pet Shop but as soon as I had it in hands, I found it marvelous, I am sure I will get even more pleasure with 10224 (as I had with CC and GG). Thank you Andy D! Actually I took a picture every at every step but I guess a good movie would need a picture every brick... anyway, off topic... but I might try for the Pet Shop though... I must say this is a real pleasure to build, the outside lamp on the terrace, the mosaic window on top floor, spiral stairs, toilet, flowers, the paint on the second floor wall, a lot of nice and creative details, some nice building techniques as well, a definitely must have!!! I repeat it again but two 16 wide stud houses really add value to the set...!!!! Thanks Jamie and TLG!

Received it today... Tried to make a small stop motion video. Since it's my first one and have no experience with video, please be kind to my poor skills. I'll try to do better for the next parts of this set... Will try to post pics on flickr and a better video soon. PS: I was quite disappointed when the first images came out, but now that I see it in real, I think that TLG has gone another step further with 10218! I hope they will produce more 16 studs wide modular buildings... I mean all modular fans will get them and the ones that the price had frightened may buy these smaller sets... and we might get more modulars/year...!

No Lego Shop in switzerland... not that I know at least, will have to wait until my order at S@H arrives... First time ever that I chose the express delivery.... 229.- CHF on S@H 149.- USD on S@H 149 USD = 131 CHF, where is the error...? But can't wait anyway... PS: I know it's not the place to ask this but does anyone of you have a link on pictures of a town that had included the Tower Bridge, or that had included MOCs (not necessarily a bridge) of the tower bridge into a town layout??? THANKS

David you're absolutely right...! At first I was quite disappointed, but now with the hi res pics & both videos, I am much more satisfied with the overall set!I still have something to say about the Pet sign and the overall townhouse, but as you mentioned: These are not meant to be spectacular buildings!!! They are meant to fit in the modular street and represent usual building/houses. Had a closer look today at some architectural details in a town in europe, and yes they would match usual yet nice buildings we see around. And as someone else said as I was complaining about the pet sign, that's how a real pet store would do, have a simple and not fancy sign on the front... Thanks Jamie and TLG, especially I believe Jamie's videos add a lot to the commercial process/marketing strategy. Again, I must say: well done! Of course some of us complain a bit, but that's usual and TLG has always heard these and did something about it in next modular buildings...

Eventhough I will definitely buy this set, I must admit that I am a bit disappointed... I love some of the interiors, there are certainly a lot of new and special building techniques, some feature are really nice (i.e. trap door to basement).... But pleeeaaase, what a simple and let me say "ugly" PETS sign... Sure I am influenced by all the great MOCs we see around... but particulars don't have the "power" and resources that TLG has and yet, they do better:... But my most criticism goes to the overall look/design.... Just take the following Colonial House it looks much better than the residential house from this set... OK I am a bit nasty here but oh well after all the great modular buildings produced up to here I couldn't imagine being disappointed at that point a day...

Thank you Follows Closely! Again some interesting details that helps us wait for pics! I guess everyone of us has its own idea on how the building looks like... Would be curious to "see" these ideas... From what I heard/read, I know I'll love 10218, but I am sure I'd like as well the ones some of us have imagined it would look like!
