I guess it really depends on what part of Utah you are in. Northern Utah doesn't have anything (afaik) and Southern Utah has a small LUG that's closely aligned with a LEGO train group. I went to one meeting a few years back but the scene wasn't really for me. Clanure

Welcome to Eurobricks! I'm not much of a poster, but a fellow Utahn deserves a warm welcome. Clanure

Well, this is my 3rd trip back from the dark ages and it has been Star Wars every time that has drug me back. Once I'm back though, I can't help but branch out. This time I told myself I was going to strictly stick with Star Wars (at least until I completed the collection), but I've already branched off to Prince of Persia, POTC, Creator, Technic, and Modulars. Who knows what will be next though. Clanure

Wow, I guess that will teach me. I went and bought all 8 sets as soon as they came out, so all of mine are dull. Glad I keep the boxes. I'll be calling TLG on Monday to see what they can do. Clanure

I try to get a solid 3-4 hours a day in some form or another. If I have new sets, I build them. If my newest sets are built, I dismantle and sort them. If everything is sorted, I work on MOCs. I pepper my online time sporadically through the day and try to limit it because it interferes with building. 10PM to Midnight is my prime time because my Wife and kids have gone to bed so I don't feel as guilty about the me time. My first order was for the JSF, but the ARF didn't show up on my order (called this morning to confirm it was included). Second order was for the Imperial Shuttle. ARF was included on the invoice for that one. Clanure

I just placed my order. It said I qualified for the poster/fig and asked if I wanted them. When I hit yes it took me straight to the payment/shipping stuff but didn't add the promo stuff to my cart like they have in the past. Anyone else experiencing this, or should I be concerned? Clanure

When did your collection reach critical mass?
Clanure replied to Arigomi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
According to Brickset I'm around 25,000 pieces, but because I've purchased most of my bricks as sets, I find I don't have enough of a singular style brick (1x2 brick in white, etc.) to build much of anything. Small MOC's maybe, but nothing huge. I think that's just the way of it when buying sets (vs. bulk bricks on bricklink). Clanure -
Version 1.1 is on page 2 Hi, Been lurking for a bit, but finally decided to come out of the shadows now that I have my first post-dark ages MOC. Been snapping up minifigs and sets like crazy but needed something to keep my 'rare' minifigs. Decided the youtube vid might be best. minifig display Comments and criticism more than welcome, but bear in mind I'm a complete noob. future enhancements will be to add a PF motor and lights. Thanks for looking. Clanure http://www.youtube.c...h?v=gZ3jHbl-Zj8

Here's version 1.1 It's really more of a proof of concept. I still need to attach the motor to the base and make a few other modifications I have in mind, but they are going to take a bricklink order so I thought I'd at least post this. It may also need one more reduction in speed. I'm still thinking on that one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bop0g3Kd5dw Here are some still shots: Once again, comments and criticisms are more than welcome. KielDaMan, Any suggestions on how to spice it up? I agree it needs something, but I don't want it to be too much. Thanks! Clanure

Wow, I totally forgot I had one of those from before my dark ages. I've added the .lxf file under my user name: Clanure. Clanure

No problem, but what is the best method? I'm new here and don't want to misstep. Is it better to email, or what? Thanks. Clanure
-
Not at all. I'm sure you can probably improve on my design even. I do have a .lxf file for it as well if anyone is interested. Clanure

Ha ha, it would be sweet to find something like that, but I won't hold my breath. Right now I'll be happy with a CC Boba Fett.

Nothing too much really. I needed another fig to put there and like Mr Man said: "Its a unique fig, it only appears in this book, and it look pretty." Maybe the new giveaway fig that will be coming next month will take his place. We'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Yeah, originally I wanted 360 degrees of trans pieces, but couldn't find any solution on bricklink I was happy with. I figured if I couldn't do that the next best thing was to have the figures rotate 360. I was hoping to pull off a monument/museum type look. Can't tell it from the video too well, but I was hoping the tiled steps would remind people of large granite/marble monuments. As of right now I don't have plans to build one for all my minifigs, but that would be cool. I may build another one for the Cloud City figs when I get them though. I already have a few ideas for improvements, which include a PF motor (may need a worm gear to slow it down), some lighting (not sure on this one, haven't seen the PF lights IRL so I'm not sure how bright they are), possibly tile the roof section or add some other detailing (not too much though, the minifigs are supposed to be the focal point). I'll try to post some pictures at different angles later on. Thanks Again! Clanure
