My bad, I didn't realise that this is indeed based on an actual ship! I stand corrected. Thank you for pointing that out, Admiral

Welcome to Eurobricks, Christian! I never knew that 6391 even existed but it sure seems like an awesome set Viel Spaß hier, man sieht sich!

Welcome to Eurobricks, Leo! I'm sure you will like it here. The Star Wars folks around here will make sure to show you the bricked side of the force

Very clean and a great brick-built hull! I also love the tumblehome and the MOC-cannons. As for nitpicking: I would reduce the number of cannons by 1 or 2 on each broadside, the hull might be a bit fragile for a ship of that size (although it is certainly possible to carry that amount of guns on a brig of that size, especially considering the calibre) - I would also move the the mizzen mast a bit more to the stern and keep it a main mast (keeping it taller than the fore mast) but otherwise it's an adorable MOC!

I think you lost a a part of your post on the way I'd love to see the whole post!

And he delivers again! As usual with superb quality (no pun intended ) I'd really love to see some detailed shots of those vessels, especially the bomb ketch. Your attention to detail never ceases to amaze me.

Sach, Du bist us Kölle? Das ist mein Heimatstadt! Grüß für mich mal den Rhein :-)

I did not believe this at first when I read it doday. According to newsservices a millionaire has been arrested for stealing LEGO sets by manipulating the bar codes of the sets so that they would register as being much, much cheaper. I cannot help myself but find that idea to be devilishly innovative and bold. On the other hand I thought about how much I spend on LEGO every year and what I need to economise in order to do so. To read about a millionaire that steals LEGO just makes me wonder of how people sometimes loose their sense of commensurability... Do you sometimes get carried away be the idea of wanting more and more LEGO? I sometimes find myself dreaming about having all the bricks that I want - what leads me to dreaming about having enough room to store it and display it...

How come? It's an original idea (I like that very much!), a set size that is not seen too often around here, good photography and a very good level of detail for a MOC that small. I'd say it fits all the criteria

This is indeed a great find! I am not too sure about the choice of colours for the roofs, though - I think I would have used a darker tone. But then again - I would not be able to make good microscale to safe my life.

That's true. They actually most often served the purpose to serve as a platform for the marksmen of the ship's contingent of marines. When two ships would exchange a broadside, the best place to be relatively safe would be the galleries as the majority of the enemy's broadside would aim for the gundeck or the masts. marksmencould then relatively easy take an aim for the enemy's weather deck, trying to shoot the officers and the non-commissioned officers. They also could get back into the ship if they would be shot at. On topic: I do love the overall curving and form of the stern section! I am really looking forward to see this decorated.

I did, thanks I'm not so satisfied with the roof of the tavern and I might add some more exterior, but otherwise I like it, too...

Almost there! I've finished the houses I will be able to build without exceeding my bugdet for this project. The only things that need to be done now are finishing the ground, doing some polishing on the details and add some more people. I've already done some tired testshots of the arrangement with minifigs. I really hope you enjoy this - and I'd love some feedback! The tavern with a room for all those lonely sailors.... A very happy birthday (with loads of bricks!), Admiral Cam!

East-Indiaman was a general term for ships that used to carry goods for the East-India Companies of the European Countries. They were a common sight in the 18th century. That hull really is a beauty, Sebeus! You have done it again

Thank you both! The furniture was actually done in collaboration with my girlfriend who is getting slowly into MOCing as well Just a small update today: The carpenter and the blacksmith finally got their houses. There are still things missing, of course. The coast will be made much more elaborate and the red-yellow basis of the black smith will vanish behind lower layers of street. Both are also missing a bunch of tools that I will have to build. Welcome to Eurobricks! I hope you will like it here. MOC is an abbreviation for "My Own Creation" and that stands for all things that you build from your imagination as opposed to the sets from TLG (the LEGO Company) or as opposed to MODs (A modification of an existing set)

Thanks for digging that up. I missed it while I was gone. The coconut is a neat little detail. And the gore is well done considering how difficult it is to do it properly in LEGO.

Welcome to Eurobricks! 50 off is a very good deal, I'd say. But I'm afraid you forgot to link the pictures? EB itself has not enough storage for your pictures. I'd suggest you get yourself a free brickshelf (or even easier:) flickr account to do that if you don't already have one of them

I don't find the colour of the steam to be too grey - just pretend that the car has a damaged steam engine I really like that. It's carefully designed, sturdy and yet still a bit fragile - exactly what makes steampunk MOCs so adorable!
-
Actually, I'd like to give feedback very much! But my computer on work just blocked the pictures as they seem to be too large

Yes, it's a pain in the swivel gun, so to speak! But it has one bright side: I am finally learning to properly use Bricklink Thanks! Actually, I am a bit saddened by the fact that I mostly have to use the old grey for the ground and the masonry - but I simply missed the time when the new greys came out and now I have buy my stock of these colours brick by brick.... Some more little updates: I've been adding some new structures and have begun to construct the backs of the houses you can enter. Additionally, I've been tinkering with some furniture for the governor's residence... A very warm welcome to you! Have fun exploring the threads!

wow, looks very accurate so far! What kind of brick did you use for the fundament? I don't recognise the type...
