Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

The Secret Six have no idea who Mockingbird is, but every time they gather it's at a pizza party and their first assignment is to take out a (rival) pizza restaurant. The twist is that none of them know about Luigi's Pizza so in frustration he sends them on increasingly dangerous missions. Every now and then one of the Six asks the others if they think they've upset Mockingbird somehow. Luigi is also increasingly frustrated because his customers are always talking about how they are connected to prominent characters in the city, but the prominent characters never come in.

I'm sure it means something hilarious to many of you, but I remain blissfully ignorant about it. This has about as much appeal to me as fanfic, I'm afraid. Yes indeed, it's been scenery at best. I think there's building trophies and it's one of them, but it doesn't feature any more than that. In keeping with the spirit of the thing, it would be Falcone's dry cleaner rather than Falcone himself. And if our green fried is as you suggest, he's doing a very good job of ignoring it being mentioned. Or he doesn't get it. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you come at me with this crap I will call you stupid.

@legoturtlelore? Any particular favourite moments in Gotham's history that involves Luigi's Pizza? Aside from a Lego set and a collectable in Gotham Knights, that is.

Don't jinx it, we'll get a full wave of Luigi's empire sets and no relevant DC characters. "Look, we've finally got Arnold Wesker's dog walker's aunt and the guy who decorated Kite Man's apartment before he moved in."

Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I don't know what this is, but no. No one in Gotham has powers, huh? Not what I've said at all. I've not said that it's a rare opinion, or an insane one, and nor have I joined in with the banal asylum crap. My initial point that Superman is more human than Batman was skewed to reduce him to his alien powers. That's not a good faith argument.

Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Are you trying to prove that Batman is more human than Superman using the number of Lego sets produced for each character? You're picking on an ability that Superman has as a result of his birth, which is about a sentence away from saying that the reason you don't like him is because he's born different. I can see why you aren't excited about the incoming X-Men mansion set.

The guy who helps fix your car, let's the recently bereaved know that they aren't alone or those with wayward kids that they aren't bad parents, the guy who plays basketball without using his powers, and talks people down from suicide attempts in the most humble way possible. Yes, that guy. The best of us, the big blue boy scout. Your response has just shown everyone that you need to read a Superman comic before voicing your opinion on him.

It's not just the idea of a poll, which would not work anyway, it's your naivety. A lot of your previous questions have been answered many times by several people, and it's proving frustrating. Your expectations differ greatly from reality, and we all enjoy wishlisting but you are expressing ideas that are wildly unachievable. With regards to Batman being great because he doesn't have powers, you have the Seven Soldiers of Victory, half if not more of the Justice Society of America, and countless others. Batman may not have powers as such but he's performing at such a level that he doesn't need them, and there are people who don't like him because they feel he's too good at what he does. As a person Superman is more relatable and human than Batman, and that is the greatest juxtaposition in DC lore. If the only happy memory you have from your childhood is a TV show then that's quite sad, and I feel for you. If you want to get a better idea of how and why Lego does what it does, I recommend finding the book Brick by Brick, by David Robertson. It might seem like a strange choice when you see what it is about, but it will give you some background as to how and why they make certain decisions. Don't be put off from having ideas for sets, but look into the background of what has been before, and look into what has sold well or was popular when brainstorming.

I loved his whole GL saga, and I loved The Lost Children, but the bit in the middle was a bit meh. Everyone finds it hard to believe that you are being the real you or a very dedicated troll. For what it’s worth I’m not going to add to that. However I will say that by refusing to like anything DC that isn’t Batman, you are missing out on a wonderful treasury of great characters and stories.

Zdarsky is trying too hard to emulate Morrison but with added paranoia, so everything appears to be canon with him. May I add ? Did the DCEU understand anything?

Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Apologies. I'm fine at dishing out sarcasm but can't always spot it. It was published under Black Label so was straddling the canonicity line, writer Geoff Johns said it was canon, artist Jason Fabok said it wasn't. Hopefully that clears things up.

If you are referring to the stickers: Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Two Face, Calendar Girl, Condiment King Renee Montoya, Harvey Bullock, Jim Gordon, Scarecrow, Ra's al Ghul, Catwoman Ventriloquist and Scarface, Baby Doll, Mad Hatter, Man-Bat, Lock-up, Mr Freeze Killer Croc, Bane, Robin, Batgirl, Alfred, Penguin Clock King, Riddler, Clayface I've purposefully not used the stupid names people insist upon. Sorry, not sorry.

I think I spotted a theme with these. I will say that you are being quite optimistic with your prices though.

Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Yes, and Lego ploughed a lot of money into the sets based on the films, far more than they would normally for existing themes - and particularly DC. We got a huge array of everything with TLBM and we're incredibly unlikely to see the likes of it again. The likes of me lapped those sets up. There's only two sets I didn't get from the whole line and it bugs me still. The partnership with the film company is over, the DVDs are done, and the latest partnership with Universal is highly unlikely to do anything with DC characters when they are owned by Warner. While DC is not as popular as Marvel right now then it is unreasonable to expect pretty much anything that doesn't feature Batman, and certainly not rated R. We certainly aren't going to see cute little side builds with random characters for a good while. The best thing to do is hope that enough time has passed by the time Superman comes out, and that the licensing agreement is strong enough to yield sets for it. And then you've got to hope that they sell well.

I'm all for Rayner or pretty much any more Lanterns, of any colour. They would be such an easy in for Lego designers. Lots of vibrant colours, solid and transparent. Lots of scope for builds. For most characters the costume remains the same. I guess that they didn't have a lot of faith in it. Oh lordy.

Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

@CloneCommando99nothing wrong with that. As much as I like The Authority I agree, a character like Midnighter is unlikely to be realised in Lego form, ditto for Peacemaker. BatB depends on what they bring to the table, but if we do get Bat family members I would appreciate ones we don't already have. Seeing as Guy is leading the charge of DCU GLs, I would put him in the mix somewhere. I would rather focus on Supergirl than more Wonder Woman for now, personally. The Titans have been terribly under represented so far, and I don't know that I can foresee a Tower. It would be awesome, don't get me wrong. We're going quite far into the unknown here, so I don't know what is in store for Booster but seeing sets that feature the Blue and Gold would be great. I would love to see Swamp Thing, HoS 92 was my first case of seller's remorse with comics, even if it did line my pocket. I can imagine Waller sets just out hard headedness from Lego. Creature Commandos would be a dream team in Lego. Are you stupid? Always best not to ask me that, I only give one answer.

The Marvel thread is nowhere near the banality of this one. I honestly avoid the Star Wars forum as much as I can as not only am I not that much of a fan of it but the fandom is too much for me. With regards to wishlisting you're right, it does go on a bit, but I think my jaded backside has probably seen the same ideas coming around again. Maybe the joke saga and the are double teaming me.

Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I miss the days when in between waves we would just talk about wishlists and MOCs, or actual sets, like there was something that united the users of the thread. There seems to be more enthusiasm for overly used stupid jokes from another platform than actual Lego. Not to mention it's driving me nuts, but it's only this topic that gets the megablock treatment.

I think we are now far removed from large minifigure scale sets for DC/Batman. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I'll reserve judgement until it's released.

Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Apologies for the misunderstanding. However I think a certain amount of responsibility has to be taken by the consumers believing what some no name on the internet tells them, simply because it's on YouTube. There's nothing wrong with wishlisting, but no one is making people cling desperately onto a baseless rumour. Yes, Idiot 1 is perpetuating these rumours, but Idiot 2 is picking them up and running with them without asking Idiot 1 where the rumours came from.

Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

That's what an Easter Egg is. They don't have to lead to anything. I think you are getting bogged down in your dislike of certain YouTubers and missing the point of an Easter Egg. They are a fun little reference to other aspects of the source material, letting fans know that the people creating the adaptation are fans too, and that ostensibly that the thing being made is in good hands. There's no hard and fast rule that says an Easter Egg has to lead somewhere. The fact that the characters are hidden in the set further cements the idea by having us hunt for them.

Lego sets for adults tend to be more difficult or bigger than regular sets, rather than being adult themed. Lego does not produce sets for every DC film or TV show, and it really won't produce sets for the ones that have an adult rating. I don't have a frame to check but looking at the various dimensions I would say that he won't fit, not even side on. He's a big boy.
