This was meant to be an entry for the Summer Joust but I wasn't able photograh and edit it in time. I don't really have a lot to say about it but please let me know what you think about it!

Ch II: Cat B: Involuntary Dives

After hearing the news from Cedrica, Luca di Carlo got slightly nervous about having to host an event him and his family would have to pay for themselves. Just as he sat and mourned his future expenses his father burst through the chamber door bombastically ranting about how his personal gondola rower managed to capsize the gondola and how he had fired him even before he got out of the water. Thats when Luca knew how they would entertain the people of Ostia. A game where gondola rowers can duel eachother while each standing on a board and holding a paddle to knock their opponent into the water with. The grand prize ofcourse being permanently employed by Nicola di Carlo (Luca's father). Gondola rowers lining up to compete. The location was carefully chosen because of the nearby di Carlo olive seller. Nicola and Elena di Carlo. Great opportunity to feed a gambling addiction! Man, it was dificult to create 40+ figures and i still would have liked to have more but oh well. It was nice to get to try out the cheese-slope arches and I think it turned out well. I'm not quite satisfied with the sand green building but i didn't have time to scrap it and come up with something else. Lots of things to comment on but I don't really have time now either, but please let me know what you think about it! Any critisism is appriciated!

Ch II: Cat B: Involuntary Dives

Thanks, that means a lot! Thank you very much! Not gonna lie, the architecture was the main focus for me, the game part was just an excuse Thanks! Thank you! I varied the colour palette to not get too repetitive, I’m glad you like it! Thanks man! The windows were definitely a pain to build I like the end result aswell. Thanks! I think the greenery will be what characterises Ostia. I see what you mean about the 1x1 studs, I saw that aswell when I photographed it. I guess I never took a step back to look at it. The reason why I didn’t use round tiles was simply that I didn’t have enough of them. That’s an interesting use of the stadium tiles though, I’ve never thought about that. And the white balance as always. I think I need to lower the brightness on my monitor when I edit because I really thought they were bright enough, oh well. Thank you! I’ll work on my photography and editing for my next moc. Thanks mate! The tree is one of those ones that are always on the verge of falling apart. I’ll have to figure out a way to make it survive a car ride. Thank you very much! Those rounded sections are an upsized version of the same thing I did in my first Ostia moc. Thanks! I’ll definitely keep on building varlyrian mocs. Thanks! I’m glad you like the story, I think it’s the first time I’ve actually written any type of story to accompany a build. Thank you very much! Thank you very much! I’m usually not a big fan of the prefabricated arches but they definitely served their purpose here. Thanks! I’m glad I gave you a laugh. Thank you! Hehe, thanks, glad you like it!

[MOC] The watchtower on the hill

This looks great! You should have a look at the first build you posted to EB, you’ve improved a lot to say the least. Have you considered GoH btw, I think you’d like it!
  8. It’s funny how these types of threads always turn into genital measuring contests. Though, I have to admit, it’s very entertaining to read. The rarest thing I own is probably 51163cx1.

    Yeah, that’s what I meant.

CHALLENGE II: Category C: At The Races

Nice scene! The Conzaga stand looks great and appropriately grand. I like the use of the cloth pieces. I have to echo Navarre about the picture, it would be nice to see it at an angle.

Book III Challenge II - Bread, Water and Drums

Neat story and great build! I love that roof, very nice use of colours. The blue in the wall however doesn’t work as well in my opinion. It gives of the DC vibes which I feel the rest of the build doesn’t match. The terrain is great apart from the big patch of brown. It’s just way too brown and no variation in texture. The trees are the best part though, they’re perfect.

Book III - Varlyrio: Guild sign-up and Discussion

I’m working on a cat B entry. It’s quite big so don’t expect it until the end of the month. I have no plans for the other categories though.

    The Ilesole Saga

Man, that was confusing but oh so good! Incredible scenes, I’m looking forward to seeing what these characters will be up to in the future. Officially welcome to GoH then!

Book III - Varlyrio: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Can you guys give me some suggestions on what buildings an eastern varlyrian street might have. I’ve built a wine seller so far but I’m running low on ideas.

Book III - Varlyrio: Guild sign-up and Discussion

I’m going to enter category B, not sure about the other ones though. Apologies for my inactivity! I’m back to building now though.

    Where the Map Leads

After a long and dangerous journey through deep and deceptive forest of the Mystic Isles, the brave explorer has finally found what he came looking for, a gem from an ancient elvish king. Lots more pictures in the Flickr album if you're interested. This build is for the Summer Joust 2018 collaboration category. The team consists of @Henjin_Quilones, @TitusV, @The Maestro and me. Here is Henjins build, the rest will follow in a not so distant future. It was a great pleasure to collab with these guys once again, lots of fun.

    The Busy Streets of Ostia

Wohoo, my first Varlyrio moc! I am completely foreign to this style but I really enjoyed it! Ostia, an east coast city that is an important part of the Varlyrian trading. Streets are busy as usual, things are getting dilivered and the bakers apprentice is sent out to pick up a new delivery of grains. Luca di Carlo on his morning stroll. (Ostian city guard in the background. I pretty much ripped of Ecc's design.) This is heavily inspired by Jonas Kramm's Venice 1486. The blue building is quite mediocre in my eyes, it's just not a lot happening however I am satisfied with how the other buildings came out. Please let me know what you think, I'd love some critisism!

Book III - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

It's the same on mobile however it's extremely hard to copy the BBcode. I've done that once and I would give it a 1/5 on Google reviews, it's not a pleasant experience.

    Varlyrian Olive Farm

Just outside of Ostia, the farmers are preparing the harvest by laying down cloth on the grond to then shake the tree and collect the olives on the cloth. Please let me know what you think of it! I think I should have added another tree behind the shack but other than that i like the outcome.

    Khaor Guard Tower [Varlyrio, HSS]

Very nice looking tower and cool figs! I like that you made it so that you can put all the mocs together. The water is too busy for my liking though, some tiles on that would make it better.

    Varlyrian Olive Farm

Thanks! I looked at pictures of olive trees to capture the look as good as possible. Thanks Grover! I used these to connect the tiles and then just carefully placed them there. It's a very useful technique for covering up small gaps. I used it on the rounded corner in my previous moc too. Thank you! Thanks Gideon! Thank you! I'm looking forward to seeing some varlyrian builds from you! Thank you very much! Thanks! Thanks Isaac! Dark tan and MDF is indeed quite a nice combo, I might try it out on a house.

    The Busy Streets of Ostia

Thanks! I'm glad you like the corner. Thank you! I agree with you, red coats definetly wouldn't look out of place but I think it gets a pass since this is historica Thanks Grover! You are right about the archway to the bakery, they will knock their head

    Avalonian Traffic Jam

This has such a unique look! The cottage has so many nice curves and the roof is seamless. The little pond is a nice touch and the wheelbarrow is genius!

    Old Mage's Tower

The old mage, or more commonly known as the crazy old man, lives in his leaning tower that is held up by the magic spells that he cast upon it, however in reality the credit goes to the treebranch that over the years has started to grow inside the house and even poking out the window. I really like how it came out, the only thing I think needs improvement is the middle roofsection (middle of 3). There are a few more pictures on Flickr. Any critisism is welcome, hope you enjoy it! (Also, how do i post pictures from Flickr without it getting the link on the side?)
