Thanks Gunman, glad you like it! Thanks! The arches was actually what I build first and at that point I didn't really know what i was going to build. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks Gideon! I wanted the cave to look dryer than the outside so i decided to go for the olive grass. The tree is heavily inspiered your tree here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/jonas_wide/33796369024/in/photostream/

Hello! Here is my latest moc, a medieval sawmill. Medieval Sawmill by jonatansvenning, on Flickr Waterwheel by jonatansvenning, on Flickr Lift by jonatansvenning, on Flickr More pics on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/143555974@N03/albums/72157683012282584/with/34912871673/ Overall, im not very happy with the outcome because I fell like my building-skills have improved alot since I started it. Before I started building I knew I wanted to build a waterstream with a waterwheel and a tudorstyle house so I decided to build a very large moc, a bit too large for my collection. The water looks absolutely terrible in my opinion. I had never seen anyone build a waterstream like that so I wanted to try it out. The trees turned out ok and it was fun to experiment with the pneumatic hoses for a tree trunk. I am very pleased with the house, especially the roof. The only thing that I would like to change would be to have one more color in the stonework but other than that, I love it. Please tell me what you think, CC is very welcome, both for the build and the photography.

This is the western wall of Lleidr Castle, a ruined fortress of central Avalonia, nestled in the eaves of a forest that has slowly grown over it. A band of outlaws has made it their abode, calling themselves the Merry Men of Lleidr. No one knows the history of the castle, as all records of it have vanished, and the bandits themselves do not care. They have repaired certain parts of the castle just enough to serve as living quarters and storehouses. They did not do an especially good job of repair, though; if they had been capable of an honest day's work at a building trade, after all, they would not have become bandits. Lleidr's western wall by jonatansvenning, on Flickr Side by jonatansvenning, on Flickr More pics on Flickr. This was my contribution to the winning team in the castle collaboration category for this years Summer Joust on Flickr. My teammates are @Henjin_Quilones and @The Maestro. Here is Henjins build and The Maestro's will probably pop up here in the next few days. Thanks for looking! All kinds of criticism is welcome.

Very well done here Maestro! The stonework is excellent the tree is beautiful. The house is the best part though IMO.

The Western Wall of Lleidr

Thanks! The three big parts I used for the tree are this, this and this. The light blue flowers are indeed very nice. I have to agree on the brown edge though my bad lighting makes it look worse than it actually is. Thanks Titus! The bad lighting is partially at fault here too. Can't wait to see the outcome Thank you! Sand green is definetly my favorite colour and it goes very well with light bley. I'm very happy with how the foliage turned out so i'm glad you like them. Again, the bad lighting is partially at fault. -

The South Gate of Lleidr Castle
ZlatanXVIGustaf replied to Henjin_Quilones's topic in Guilds of Historica
Fantastic build Henjin, especially considering the lack of time. I really like the angle on the gate, the build wouldn't be half as good if that was straight. The bend in the roof is also a very nice touch. My two critisisms would be that the reddish brown border is too thick and second, the arch-pieces on the front breaks up the continuity of the texture. I think you could have solved that by adding overlapping tiles and plates. Overall, a fantastic build and at the very least, you gave the other teams an honourable mention ;)- 13 replies

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Thanks Titus! That is a very good shout. Much cheaper than the Leia torso too. -
Thanks! I didn't really think much about the colors I choose but it turned out nice. Thank you! And yes, I agree about the name. I was very tired when I posted it so I just wanted tobe done with it so I couldn't be bothered to come up with a good name. I'm glad you like it. Thanks! And yes, after all the praise it got at Klossfestivalen (swedish LEGO-convention) and getting featured on TBB, I realized it is quite a good moc. Thanks! I will give the water-tecnique another try some other time on a smaller scale. The water-plates were very unstable so I wasn't able to put any trans-clear pieces on top without having the plates moving in all kinds of directions. Thank you! I might be able to put together a tutorial as I haven't yet ripped apart the house though the rest is gone. (Keyword is might)

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
ZlatanXVIGustaf replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks! Great suggestion, I'll try to get my hands on one of those. -
@zoth33 Thanks! The roofs are definetly my favorite part of the build. @Robert8 Thanks! It took me about nine months to finnish but that includes a lot of breaks while waiting for bricklink orders. Anyways, it took way too long and I got very bored in the end. Might be why I don't like it that much.

Hello avalonians! I would like to join your guild. GoH sigfig by jonatansvenning, on Flickr Here is my sigfig Roderick and his two sons. His wife died at childbirth (but if anyone have a suggestion for a female fleshie or non-specific torso that isn't a princessdress, she might get resurrected). He is a generic farmer but he serves in shifts as a soldier at Dorvale castle. He isn't the best swordsman but he knows that you stick them with the pointy end atleast. GoH figs by jonatansvenning, on Flickr Here is Roderick in uniform, the lord of Dorvale and his son. GoH Garrison by jonatansvenning, on Flickr And here is the entire garrison. I have been a lurker for a few years so I think i know the basics of GoH. -
"Castle lines never die" or "what made me change my mind and believe in new exciting castle lines".
ZlatanXVIGustaf replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The elves sets are probably the best sets we can buy at the moment but still, they are nowhere near as good as the middle earth lines for pieces. I have a few elves sets and I think it would be generous to say that I'm using 10% of the parts. In my opinion, your money will always be best spent on bricklink unless there is a castle line. -
