  1. sorry, i not tryed your method... and ot understand why... when Lego provides itself a method to download all instructions... https://www.lego.com/en-us/service/buildinginstructions
  2. hi all, i need your opinion to understand what makes a MOC interesting like a set to want to buy... this question is not relative to Technic sets or various UCS sets... so... i understand a very bg moc is interesting... but is not the point.... i want now how create a small or middle sized MOC that is a good product to been selled for example.. thanks for all opinion that you want give me

    What makes a MOC interesting?

I try everytime to desgn first things i like, because they inspire more my creativity the strange thing (lol) is that in this forum is very hard to gain a feedback... in the most cases users view the creations and not give any opinion luckily LDD has not too recent parts
  4. i totally agree! Stud.io is a good sowtfare, but too complicated to be enjoyable like LDD... designing with LDD is a super easy thing like in real life
  5. if this new software will replace LDD... for me is ok... just letting us to import the lxf made with LDD... this new softare has a name?
  6. wait... all the 4.3.12 problems are only for the MAC version? the PC version works and got all the eventually new parts?

    [MOC] Caronte spaceship

This is my entry for the Lego Ideas "Moon to Mars" contest https://ideas.lego.com/challenges/a289cd61-c960-4364-a1a8-42da645a4fe6/application/ff3e793f-c099-4c20-aef0-4612f4e53ab8 Caronte, a spaceship assembled in orbit around Moon to transport a crew to Mars and provides all necessary to create the first ground base on the red planet.. Caronte by Rusty B. I used a "capsule" design, with a pair of dome on each living module to have a good light source.. in the middle of the ship there is a working rotating system usefull to create the artificial gravity on the floor of the living modules. During the journey, the crew can live inside them easly.. Caronte by Rusty B. The spaceship is mdular, because when arrives near Mars, the modules will be undocked from the ship main structure and will be send on the planet landing on the surface using parachutes... Caronte by Rusty B. The crew lands on surface inside the Command pod / Rover and assembles the landed modules to create the ground base.. there are also two containers with inside solar panels, connection wires, a accumulation battery, a parabolic dish antenna and the rover wheels, that will be mounted on the Command pod to trasform it in a rover.. Caronte by Rusty B. The command pod / Rover has a command seat to drive the spaceship/rover, a second seat with computer and a back space to transport things.. Caronte by Rusty B. The base itself is playable with the opening roofs, to let play inside with the crew minifigures.. list of modules: - Airlock: Caronte by Rusty B. The Airlock helps the crew to enter and exit the base, balancing the internal atmosphere and contains the spacesuits for the external surface walk.. - Crew living module: Caronte by Rusty B. The main living module, with beds for crew, lamps on them, a recreation computer and space to keep personal objects.. - Science module: Caronte by Rusty B. In this living module the crew works, making experiments with Mars rocks, analyzing the scansions made with rover... there are a main desk with a laptop and microscope, rotating seat, a space with lab instrumentations, a drill to analyze rocks, and the infirmary, with all need to heal the crew.. - Greenhouse module: Caronte by Rusty B. This living module provides the food for the sustenance of the crew, during the space travel and on the ground... with a mix of traditional and idroponic colture, the plants grow and produces vegetables and fruits.. - Cargo bay: Caronte by Rusty B. In this container there are all the equipments to make the ground base operative.. directional solar panels, a accumulation battery, wires to connect the panels to the battery to the base itself, and a parabolic dish antenna for the communication between the base and the control base on the Moon or the Earth.. - Wheels bay: Caronte by Rusty B. To transform the Command pod in a rover, this container has inside four deassembled wheels... for more pics, visit my Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/152734688@N06/ because in the renders the trasparent domes are too dark, i've removed them in some pics to let see easly the internal... I used only existing parts in existing color... but probably i've made some mistakes... i will re-check all the colors, and if i will find some errors, they can be resolved easly without changing any shape particular or details... What do you think? As always, comments, opinions, suggestions and costructive critics are really welcome!

    [MOC] Caronte spaceship

i can, but.. how important is? grabbing attention with a cool background is like, in my opinion, a picture of a car with a beautyfull woman on it... i thinked here people look more the Lego stuff

    [MOC] Caronte spaceship

i've posted it in town section, but noone interested to take a look because is a spaceship... in town section the users are more interested into minifig than mocs... all the modules land on planet surface using parachutes... a modern technique, not sci-fi, to save weigh... once landed, the crew use the rover to assemble the module together for have the base... maybe i can add to the rover a robotic arm... but it is mothern and realistic thing too.. for the comments... you say my build is not attention grabbing... ok, in your opinion why?
  10. i'm agree with you... they go slowly because is a free program... i not understand why some people regularly say "ldd is abandoned"... they continue to give us update, incredible slowly, right, but Lego have not abandoned the software... for the 4.3.12 version... icontinue to use the 4.3.11 and wait a fix for the latest... i got the installing version i use if someone is interested

    [MOC] Caronte spaceship

personally, comment like "very cool" is not important for me... anyway if you look in a ton of other discussion, is plently of "one word comments" but, "it can't be all bad" is that the thing! i want know what is bad in my creations, to be able to improve myself, and if noone comment i can't see the bad things in it... for example you mentioned the fact that Caronte is a "modern day" thing... not considering that a modern day ship can be cool too, i take your opinion and next time maybe i can try to do something more "cool" (translated = more sci-fi), and for this i thank you... really! Edit: i'm not "begging" for anything... i want help to make my design skills better, and here there are a lot of good designers that can help with their experience i think

    [MOC] Caronte spaceship

another 100 views and nooe commented it... is possible noone hase one opinion? you like the creation? i'm glad to know it... you dislike the creation? i'm super happy to know what you not liked, really! you got any suggestion to improve the moc? thanks for helping me into my personal designer growing... or, if you know, explain me why all users that look this moc ignore it... it's because of the moc? is because of me?

    [MOC] Rebels hunting

i liked the first version too... was only my opinion, the truck design is good, but with or without wheels it is a truck... i think, in a star wars universe, is better a speeder style, mantaining the pickup structure for carry on the stormtrooper, but with a sci-fi/star wars taste... if it was my design, probably i would not use the old style cockpit design for a star wars credible set... but remember, is only my opinion
  14. Rustinidiel

    [MOC] Rebels hunting

ofcourse as hilarous star wars pic... is awesome! like a ton of pics in the discussion "star wars photography" i not want be arrogant... my opinion was only as a MOC this is not star wars
  15. Rustinidiel

    [MOC] Rebels hunting

nice pickup... but it is not star wars style in my opinion... is a pickup... better with other minifigures in a "town" context...

    [MOC] Caronte spaceship

the contest is finished.. i've not won, but i enjoyed a lot creating this spaceship! anyway, only one user commented it... is incredible to think over 200 viewers not had a opinion... i think a feedback is very important, primarily if it is a critic or a suggestion to improve the model.. i'm not an expert designer and i know my creations are not perfect.. i post them to have a comparsion with you all... i see someone dislike digital creations... but not all have the money needed to create the mocs in real life... and not understand why dislike them... i see a lot of comment on creations of famous designers... ok, but why ignore the others? a positive comment is a great thing, but critics and suggestions are more important in my opinion... and i see rarely someone give them to a not famous designer, to me or others... help eachother with feedbacks help a designer to grow in his ability for his future creations and make this community helpfull... otherwise, why continuing posting?

    [MOC] Caronte spaceship

you are right, Charon/Caronte maybe is a dark figure... but in real he is neutral, he is not a bad guy... and... because the first journey to the red planet will have a lot of unknowns, i thinked the name was appropriate... second thing... i have a macabre humor and yes, it is not inspirational... but maybe can exorcise the fear to reacing an inhospitable place..

    [MOC] U8-3R

Hi all, this is my creation for the Landspeeder contest.. His name is U8-3R () and is not only a speeder driven by a droid.. the speeder itself is the droid and the robotic torso is mounted and connected by a wire... is a hybrid fusion by a machine with... another machine.... this speeder was created to have an automatic transport system during the Empire era and can be used by officers and troops for reach various location and base... but it can allow the "touristic" function and the public transport... U8-3R by Rusty B. U8-3R by Rusty B. The shape is like a sidecar, with a main speederbike driven by the mechanical droid torso, and the passenger cockpit with an openable glass dome.. there are two laser cannon for protect the passengers and an headlight.. an antenna on the back for data transmission and the green light for show the speeder's aviability U8-3R by Rusty B. the glass dome can be opened and inside there are two confortable seats for passengers U8-3R by Rusty B. the space inside the dome is enough to fit two minifig with hat or helmet and the glass easly slide from open to close to open U8-3R by Rusty B. next to the pilot droid there is an holographic control screen and inside the passenger cockpit there is an holographic Emperor avatar as interactive tourist guide U8-3R by Rusty B. the dome can be closed with inside the two minifig and the Emperor hologram activated U8-3R by Rusty B. behind the laser cannons there are the computers and they are the brain of the entire speeder... the droid torso is only an avatar to allow the use of mechanical function of the speeder because the speeder was created for a human use and adapted with a droid brain afterward U8-3R by Rusty B. the holographic control screen show a map or data about passengers U8-3R by Rusty B. behind the seats there are space for the passengers baggage, like a suitcase or blaster rifle U8-3R by Rusty B. U8-3R by Rusty B. the holographic Emperor avatar let the passengers to have communication with the imperial bases or can be used as a virtual assistant or touristic guide U8-3R by Rusty B. U8-3R by Rusty B. U8-3R by Rusty B. the passenger seats can be reclined to access to the baggage space the render of LDD is not perfect with colors... the main body is in metallic silver and the exhaust of the speeder is in flat silver and the flexible hose is in light gray.. I've used only existing parts in existing colors I hope you like this creation, and as always comments, suggests, criticism are very welcome Edit: without change any part and mantaining the clean look, theese are the possible combinations of color: U8-3R by Rusty B.

i've managed the model and here you can see the normal one and the other U8-3R by Rusty B.

    [MOC] U8-3R

i designed it in that position because i everytime saw sidecars in that configuration... but ofcourse, is possible, building the model mirrored

    [MOC] U8-3R

english is not my language... so be patient are you meaning a movable dome around the "bike" or are you meaning simply a opposite position of "bike" and dome?

    [MOC] U8-3R

thanks a lot for your appreciation! despite the originality, the details, the contextualization and the approach with playability in a very little speeder... in the contest i obtained really a few votes... anyway i'm glad you like it! my plan is to build it in real bricks in future... i've not enaugh money to buy bricks for my creation, my collection of real models is very poor... for that i submit my creation in contests, trying to win something and use it to gain bricks... as Deraven said, the set containing the glass dome is "Contruct-A-Buzz" 7592 and for what i know is the only set with those parts... thanks for your comment! guys, you got some suggestion or critics to improve the creation?

    Dark Knight Tumbler MOC

what a bad suggest! DeCommander96, continue to enjoy Lego... learn and experiment your creativity and in future your creations will be better!

    Dark Knight Tumbler MOC

i dont know how old are you and if you are limited by a restricted amount of lego parts... anyway, i suggest you to loo some other MOC, take insporation (inspiration, non the entire project) try first with something more easy (example, without the batpod) and than upgrade your model... if you are young, the best thing is experimenting, search on internet one book of lego techniques, experimenting, learn, experimenting... and the most important thing: dont stop to enjoy Lego P.S. for the forum community: IF YOU NOT LIKE A DESIGN, COMMENT IT!!! SUGGESTION AND CRITICISM ARE THE BEST THING FOR A LEGO DESIGNER TO GROW HIMSELF... SILENCE SERVES NO PURPOSE!!!
