    Scaling of LEGO trains

Don't use the train baseplate and make an appropriately long one out of plates. Also note that the Maersk train should have C-C trucks (three axles) not B-B (two axle) trucks. Nor should it (or the other cars in set) have buffers.

    Coupling two PF powered locomotives

What exactly is wrong with this? If you build the dummy locomotive light enough and powered locomotive strong enough it would work well. You could easily have a six axle locomotive and not worry about designing powered trucks.

What carriages do you use with BNSF & SFSC?

As far as I know, all ATSF f-units with the color scheme of the 10020 set were only used on passenger trains, so there are no train carriages that are cross compatible with set 10133 since, because BNSF was created after the formation of AMTRAK, BNSF has no passenger operations. Here is what most of ATSF's freight designated f-units looked like: http://rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=287828

    Rock/metal discussion thread.

Do post-rock and post-metal count in this thread?

What goes in the middle ?

Here are pictures of a real BNSF B-Unit and one that someone built out of Lego a few years ago.

What goes in the middle ?

Why are you bent on recreating the set? It is a good design, but there are many things that one could improve. As for the portholes, just use boat studs as I did here. A plain 6x2x2 windscreen looks fine as well.
  7. When the pictures of the first wave of collectable minifigs came out, I was excited. I was not excited for the minifigs, mind you, but for their stands. After amassing nearly three dozen, I had enough to make this gondola. I kept it relatively simple as to minimize weight and left the gondola empty because my other two gondolas already have loads. Only the trucks are studs up.

LDD MOC: AUS C636 in progress

This looks absolutely fantastic. I can't wait for the real life version.
  9. Hi, y'all. I am a new member. I used to lurk here all the time, but finally decided to register because I missed out on the container raffle and do not want to miss out on other cool events that y'all have on this website. I am mostly active on flickr and I write for the popular blag "tweeaffect". I like to build North American trains, but I do not care for steam locomotives. Outside of Lego, I enjoy cycling (my bicycle is my primary form of transportation) and learning about German, specifically its grammar and how it has changed over time. I am from Ohio, which is a state in everyone's favorite country, the United States of America. That is all, I suppose.

Hello, I am a new member

Hahaha, thanks. I am glad that someone else has subscribed to my dogma.

Hello, I am a new member

No, we cannot. I would be (more of) an attention whore to cross post them here, three weeks after uploading the pictures to flickr.

    MOC: German Freight Train

I seems like you are going for a studless aesthetic. If so, why did you leave visible studs on the top of the fuel tank? They look very out of place when compared to how smooth the rest of the locomotive is.

Hello, I am a new member

Yes, I probably should have mentioned that I am an active (albeit not due-paying) member of COLTC. In real life people call me "Matt" or "Matthew".
