Can you imagine someone starting at post #1 and reading all the way through to catch up?! :oh3:

    Thanks for updating it though.

Haha. I did check out his #1 post (thanks for updating) and now I wonder if the gift shop (counter) is a unique business or part of the Museum business…

  2. “Update (12. October 2023, 09:51 a.m.): In the meantime, further information about the upcoming modular building has appeared. The usually well-informed Instagram channel from maxbautde tells us the first details about the rooms and the furnishings.

    […]

The new details from the rumor mill now confirm that the modular should have a base area of 48 by 32 knobs. It is also confirmed that a total of seven minifigures will be included in the LEGO Modular Building 2024. As a large exhibit, a Brachiosaurus skeleton is said to stand in the atrium. On the first floor there is probably a natural history exhibition, while on the floor above a collection of space and science artifacts can be admired. Some references to the LEGO story are also supposed to be housed here. Under the roof is the current information according to the office of the curator. The museum is also said to have roof windows, i.e. like many classic modulars, a skylight.”

    Yep.

For a company that's famous for making plastic bricks, they sure are very scrimpy when it comes to putting actual decent-sized bricks in the boxes they want more and more money for. Sure, we'll get dozens if not hundreds of 1x1 greebly bits, but compared to the really old modulars, all the last ones were very poor in terms of how many actual, decent-sized bricks were in there. Buildings keep getting thinner and lower.

Very bad direction they've been taking.

For 230€, I'd want something the size of Green Grocer with the level of detail of the Parisian Restaurant. Which easily could be done with 3000 pieces. Instead, I'll propably get a building sized somewhere between the Book Shop and the Downtown Diner with maybe 8-10 studs in depth, whose interior walls (if existent...) won't even reach the ceiling.  :head_back:

    😂

Video games and their DLC structure coming soon to Modulars with floor to ceiling interior wall packs

Kinda what happens already with fine tuned buidlings via rebrickable and then purchase of extra bricks via bricklink

Maybe, the art gallery had been built before the hotel. And a lot of time later the hotel has been built. Now the art gallery forced the angle of the hotel.

It has been there before the Hotel came up and refused to sell the land. The result we see now in the 2022 modular building scene.

The good thing is that it allows for various MOD options

  5. Hi AZ,

Well done. Cool upgrade of the original building. I also plan do that once I have two copies of it.

My plan is to go also “6-wide” and higher but not so deep. Seeing yours I think I will add alleys to both sides.

Not sure if I will keep the letters on top but you defo made it better imho.

Did you use any lighting kit or is it diy?

    Cheers

I also created some building instructions for the train station. You can download them (PDF File, 125 pages, for free, no registration) under the below URL:

Ok, this is now a bit offtopic, but may I ask you however, as a sort of recompensation, to vote for my LEGO Ideas Project Princess June's Castle and share my project idea in social media. You can vote for my project here: https://bit.ly/junescastle. I would really appreciate. :classic:

Happy Building, stay safe and keep healthy. :-)

Thank you - this is really awesome to see!

Would you have a parts list as well for it?

    Cheers

Thanks! Probably more than EUR 500, especially with rare parts. Luckily I already had 70% because I bought discounted sets with suitable bricks over the last 3 years.
Germany, Netherlands and U.S.A. okay to Bricklink, getting parts from other countries will add even more costs. To minimize shippings costs I Bricklinked all eight together.

Bike Shop was second for me when it comes to building pleasure so good choice. Boot Black I enjoyed building the most, so many clever interior details. I however replaced the trouser and sweaters on the glass top floor with an indoor garden, seemed more logical :)

The Orange facade of Havana Cafe is different, well recognized. I replaced the Medium Azure details with white because I dislike Medium Azure if too much is present :)
Same for Olive Green, I changed the left part of Old Town Pub to Sand Green.

Hi, sorry for the late reply, but I have been to “incredible” India for work - definitively no cheap Lego there, but Eastern Europe I found also helpful when bricklinking.

Thats really lucky or rather well planned, I only have 5-10%, so the more complex ones will be painful for the wallet.

I also did a couple modulars from BrickCityDepot/BrickbuildersPro and there I had well over 50% before going on BrickLink.

The only modification I did with the BikeShop was putting an E instead of the L outside.

    Cheers
