  1. OK. If I come across any of those on your list and they're in the condition you're looking for I'll pass them on.
  2. Good Morning TechnicSteve I'm not sure if this will be of any help to you or not but I've just found an 8857 for sale on a UK free ads site. The description says it's in perfect condition but obviously that's something you'd need to check for yourself. Here's the link: http://m.friday-ad.co.uk/bristol/for-sale/hobbies-leisure/hobbies/lego-technic-8857-TT214HE14#CTuVgj224l0hRrZr.03 Hope this helps.

    Changing Color of Technic Parts

Sounds interesting although as these methods have potential health risks associated with them and it wouldn't be me doing it, it might be something to consider if all else fails. Thank you

    Changing Color of Technic Parts

Good Evening Bzroom Thank you for the info. Custom parts isn't something I'd thought of but will look into. As for it being an authentic Lego build. I'd certainly prefer it to be but if I can't get the parts accurately recoloured then I may have no alternative as the car has to be Dark Red. Thanks again.

    Changing Color of Technic Parts

Good Morning All I have this very problem. My cousin is building a car which when finished will be identical to this. He's, foolishly, asked me to build a copy in Lego (the problems of which are well documented elsewhere on this forum) but has asked that it be as close as possible to his finished cars colour. The Silver's no trouble and as you can see, Dark Red pieces will be almost a perfect colour match but this part, the wheelarch, is the only part not available in Dark Red. I've thought about taking a Dark Red part to my local DIY centre to see if their colour match service can come up with anything & if they could would the paint be OK to use on a Lego part and would the finish match that of a Lego brick? I'd also thought about asking the vehicle vinyl graphics company that's working on replacement stickers for my Williams F1 if they could reproduce the colour accurately on vinyl and 'wrap' the face of the part. Like TheLegoExpert, I'd be very interested to know if anyone has any experience of changing Lego part colours, the methods used and if were the results satisfactory? I'd welcome any advice/ideas/solutions.
  6. Good Morning Horace Thank you for replying and for your kind words. As for the photo. Yes, that's the boy, surely one of the best looking sports cars ever and it's those good looks that are causing me problems Those beautiful curves at the rear are proving very difficult to replicate in LDD. No doubt I'd find the solution if I were to sit experimenting with a pile of pieces but whilst I can build, disassembly is a whole different ball game. That's why I'm hoping one of the many skilled builders or those far more proficient with LDD or LDraw than I can help. Just an aside to my help request. The car my cousin is building will be Candy Apple Red with Silver stripes when finished so the car he's asked me to build has to be as close as possible to that. The Silver's no trouble and Dark Red pieces are almost a perfect colour match. Great thinks I until I find that the wheelarches, only the wheelarches, aren't available in Dark Red. Don't you just hate it when that happens. Oh well, such is life! Solutions are being looked into...
  7. What a very kind offer, I'm really touched that you'd be willing to take time to come and help me. I'd like to take you up on your offer, it be the ideal solution, but due to the nature of my disability it's very difficult to arrange anything with any degree of certainty. I don't know how I'll be from one day to the next & with you living the distance you do I'd hate you to have a wasted journey. I hope you understand and that you know how very grateful I am for your kindness. I've said it many, many times before and don't mind repeating that Eurobricks really is the friendliest place on the 'net.
  8. Thank you for taking the time to explain this. SNOT building techniques sometimes seem a 'dark art' but when explained in detail it makes them a little easier to understand.
  9. Thank you very much your super quick replies and your kind offer of help. Thank you also for letting me know about the link not working. I've now corrected it but should you have any more problems with it please let me know.
  10. Hello Everyone Some of you may know me as grum64 from the Technic Forum but for those that don't, a brief introduction. I'm disabled & unable to use my hands, but have a passion for Lego Technic. The nature of my disability means I build by mouth which if nothing else, teaches patience. Besides being stubborn, which helps, those who know me say I'm addicted to collecting Technic sets, having accumulated 40+ sets in the 5years since I re-kindled my love of Lego. I buy sets, old and new, faster than I can build, the 8043 & 8110 took over 17 weeks each! Well, that's enough of my ramblings, here's my problem. I'm hoping one of the gifted folk out there can help me with the rear of this amazing Shelby Cobra I've been asked to build for my cousin who's restoring the genuine article. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=422647 For the life of me I can't get my head round the techniques used. I've tried for around 3 months using LDD but with very unsatisfactory results. I've asked the builder if he has a set of instructions but he hasn't and won't be making any but has given me his blessing to try building it. Due to my disability, and the fact that all my spare parts are Technic, physically experimenting with parts is difficult. I can build Lego by mouth but taking it apart the same way ranges from very difficult to nigh on impossible! I've done the mid body, engine and little of the front (with the same problem as I'm having with the rear but am hoping to use lessons learnt from any help received to complete it) but I'm hoping that someone can help me by either building the rear up to 'boot catch' level in LDD/LDraw or sending clear instructions using same of the techniques needed/used. Any and all help would be very, very gratefully received. Thank you. grum64
  11. I've just seen that you've chosen to build a power puller after my suggestion. I'm chuffed and can't wait to see the result.
  12. Be great in a replacement for the 8457 power puller.
  13. Awesome! Love the auto loader and firing mechanism.
  14. Great, if a touch quirky, build but you Sir have way too much time on your hands... ;-)
  15. Excellent. Looks just like the real thing.
  16. Very nice. You've captured its character really well. Personally, I like the colour but it might be more 'acceptable' to you with a few simple additions...

Hello for Lego-Tech startup Model Motivators

Welcome to the Eurobricks community. Something like this would be a great idea for those of us with disabilities etc,. Your idea is very interesting but may I ask if it's anything like this http://coredevelopersteam.com I've completed your survey and encourage others to do so also, it only takes 2 minutes. If you need any product testers I'd be happy to participate. I wish you Good Luck with your venture.
  18. Very nice. Love your choice of colours.
  19. If it's wrong to be in love with a plastic car I don't want to be right!

    Ghostbusters: Stay Puft Marshmallow Man

Lego. If you're reading this... ...PUT THIS AWESOME CREATION INTO PRODUCTION ASAP. OR SOONER!!!
  21. Thank you Lyichir for your input which made very interesting reading. I'm not too worried about possible problems with high part count models as I don't envisage building anything much over the 1600 or so pieces of ones I've build so far. As for LDD2PovRAY, again, I'm not too bothered. It was just something I'd have tried if I had the 'tools' (and time!) to do so. Anyway, thanks again.
