Well, here's what I came up with for faces/hair for Inferno Squadron. Though obviously we dont know what Seyn's face should look like. Used the surfer arms, because I already had them Inferno Squad by Magmafrost13, on Flickr EDIT: fixed the link

1000 pieces does seem very high for a system-scale Slave I. The last one wasn't even 600. And I know piece counts have been going up across the board with smaller parts being used, but that still seems like a huge jump. Not even gonna comment on the price because like... what do we even expect at this point?

For what its worth my opinion of the new mold went down once I had it in my hands. The side profile is even worse than I realised, and the face is really flat and long, it just doesnt look anywhere near as good IMO. Though its also worth noting that Ive spend a hell of a lot more time looking at Lego stormtrooper helmets than real ones

Im absolutely speechless at this madness. How is this a thing that happened!? I've never been more glad to not be much into minifigs.

Do we have any idea whats going on with the dragon boat race? They're (allegedly) available on Ebay, and (allegedly) people have bought them, but there aren't even any HD images of the set, either official or from people who apparently bought it off Ebay, that one low quality image of the box seems to be the only image of the set that exists

It seems to me that in their novel appearance they have several parallel stripes across each arm, so the surfer arms thick stripes are an alright representation of that, better than one thin stripe anyway. Personally Im going for the novel look anyway since I plan on having the fourth fig as Seyn. Maybe Im just desperate to try and justify buying them though lol. Anyone found any good heads or hair for them yet, by the way? The cheekbones on what I assume is meant to be Hask arent right, but the head might be alright if they were removed. Not sure I want to mess with that yet though since I have no experience with removing printing and for all I know a better head might already exist. And we dont even know what Seyn's face is meant to look like, but based on the cover image on the Inferno Squad book, I think wig no.6 or maybe 88 in black is a good bet for her hair, or maybe dark brown. Its hard to tell from the image and I dont remember whether there's any description of her appearance in the novel

The droid gunship is less of a remake then it first appears, pretty much the only thing it has in common with the previous one is that it used the large quarter circle pieces

You ever dig up a mold thats been retired for 12 years just to flex on resellers? In all seriousness though Lego introduce new molds for Star Wars figs and only use them once all the time, so I dont see why not.

One thing Im not seeing people talking about with the anniversary figs is what level of detail they might have. Modern Star Wars minifigs dont really have the same aesthetic as 1999 ones, they have a much higher level of detail, the difference isn't only the color of the head/hands. I suppose we dont know one way or the other just yet, but I think its a pretty important factor.

So this is a pretty minor thing but are those dark blue ice cream cones on the Droid Gunship? Because thats kinda neat.

Death Star Escape is a bit bigger than I was expecting. I like that it folds out like that. Dewback is still fantastic. Interesting that they included the 4th member of Inferno Squad since all she did is die in a prequel novel, but what else were they going to do I guess. Hopefully it actually includes 4 helmets though... X-Wing is a joke and obviously not for us, but if there's one thing that always bothered the crap out of me as a kid it was open cockpits on spaceships. That printed nose is fantastic, or at least it would be if only it were grey... (if it were a sticker we could put it on a grey piece instead. Just a thought)

Well it wouldn't really be a retcon, Luke says in ANH "I cant see anything" while wearing a stormtrooper helmet. They were meant to be awful from day one, and this has been reinforced by several other characters over the years.

The UCS wasn't discontinued that long ago, I wouldn't be surprised if a few stores still have some floating around, so potentially up to four Slave I's available a the same time (although maybe not in any given store)

It gets considerably more difficult when people insist on only posing them on sites that require you to have an account to browse properly. At least they're not on bloody pinterest though... Lego keeps yelling at the Reddit admins for leaks though, sadly. so those arent coming back. I assume the same happened with discord.

Can we just post pictures somewhere other than facebook/instagram? Somewhere maybe that doesn't require you to have an account to browse properly, or somewhere that isn't notorious for misusing personal information? Its getting real frustrating that I cant see these leaks half the time because I dont want facebook selling my personal details...

Man I wish I had the money to actually build this, it'd put the cost of a UCS Falcon to shame here in Australia though. Its an absolutely beautiful piece.

Wow I was not expecting to see this officially revealed out of nowhere. What a nice surprise to see something revealed as intended for a change. Too bad the set itself suck, but I dont like the death star either, so there was no way this set was ever going to appeal to me. The minifigs look great, which i'd love if I gave even the slightest crap about minifigs. For some reason the Slave I is funny to me, not sure why, its actually pretty decent considering the context, but I laughed when I saw it. And speaking of slave I and minifigs, I wonder what that leaked boba from ages ago was about, now that we know its not this... The box art reminds me of those fan-made fakes that infest google images, so err... good job Lego's graphic design team... Not your best work.

Nah all the stores that sell it for RRP (ie like 20% higher than what its worth) still have stock, lol. nah 20% off at Big W is pretty much the lowest anything ever gets, since Big W's prices are already a good bit lower than RRP. Sometimes buy-1-get-1-50%-off sales that Myer (and formerly TRU, not that that matters now) offers can bring sets lower, but it depends on how close to RRP Big W charges for it. There are a few special exceptions, like Target's put the 60s Batcave and Assault on Hoth at 50% off a few times, and Dimensions sets being on perpetual clearance, but most sets never see that sort of discount. I recommend following the blog Bricking Around, which keeps track of all Lego sales in Australia.

The landing craft was meant to be a TRU exclusive. But since as of like a week ago we no longer have those (apparently Lego somehow didn't see that coming!?), according to Bricking Around most of the would-be TRU-exclusives are currently being renegotiated (with the Hogwarts Express being the only one currently finalised, it'll be available everywhere), so I dont expect we'll see them on shelves for a few months. Assuming we get them at all, at this point I wouldn't put is past TLG to just not give them to us at all, they've done that for worse reasons...
