LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Darth Shadowthrone replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is really interesting news about there being no identifiable Mandos. I can't help but think that Lego were only shown concept art or footage of certain non-spoilery Mandalorian characters or wanted to save the unique Mandalorians for sets later down the line (which would be very like them considering how they're releasing the Knights of Ren over three separate waves). I don't actually mind as because of the popularity of the series we'll definitely get more sets later on which means more unique Mandalorian figures - seriously any toys based on this series are going to sell like hot cakes. -

It’s hard to tell from these descriptions but do any of the Mandos look like the main character, Heavy or Smith from the show? -

Could it include the speader from that scene? The one with the barrels with the astromech droid in it. Considering every battlepack has to include a build it would be nice to have a vehicle that was actually in the scene. Also I think the minifigures in the battlepack with be the main Mandalorian with his updated armour, the heavy one with the machine gun and then just 2 of the generic ones (tho if it came with the smith that would be really cool) -

I can’t wait to see the Mandaloroan battlepack, that’s the set I’m most excited about! Maybe it’s being hidden because it features Mandos who haven’t appeared in the series yet? Also with how many new moulds the Knights of Ren have used do you guys reckon they’ll be reused in sets eventually? I really hope that once the first TROS wave starts disappearing Lego will do us a solid and release them in a battlepack. -

That's what I hope they do for Gringotts goblins! I had a thought the other day that if they create a generic goblin mould head for the CMF like the Ugnaught one from Star Wars then they can print over it in sets to create unique looks for the different goblins, like the ones in Philosopher's Stone and Deathly Hallows. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion

I think they’d probably make the piece in a different colour to make the brown one exclusive to a set. Maybe it could be used for a mouse person costume in a grey/white colour with pink printing on the ears? -

Yes to all of those! Professor Sprout is probably the least exciting figure on that list but she would still be handy for a Hogwarts greenhouse MOC to go along with Neville. What if instead of Centaurs in a small set there was a small set with thestrals? Lego already have the mould and there's a scene in Order of the Phoenix with Harry finding Luna feeding the Thestrals in the forest! It could come with a baby Thestral as well, similar to the new Frozen II set with Sven and the baby deer. I also really think Lego is going to make at least two more exclusive sets next year similar to this year. This theme is obviously selling really well so although I think they're pacing themselves to keep going while the Fantastic Beasts films are (which is now even longer as the third is delayed to 2021) they can definitely eventually go back through the films filling in the gaps while re-releasing the iconic sets (similar to the 2010 wave). If this does happen then I think six sets should be enough to fit in all the interesting Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince sets they could make. -

The thing is after so many slightly dull minifigures in the first cmf like Dean Thomas, Jacob Kowalski and Credence id rather get more interesting minifigures that actually use the new moulds or detailed printing you can only get with cmfs. Werewolf Lupin, another Hogwarts ghost and a Gringotts goblin are right at the top of my wish list partly because they’d really stick out from the other figures and would appeal to people less familiar with Harry Potter -

Are you going to do a review of them? It'd be great to see all the minifigures together. Also do you have their accessories too? -

It would really suck if the Mandalorian battlepack is yet another Imperial army-builder. I like Stormtroopers as much as the next guy but including some of the aliens from the series would be so much more interesting: just from the trailer they could do that Ugnaught, Trandoshans, a new print for a Rodian or a Quarren! -

These two animal leaks are definitely both very odd. Both are much more expressive than normal with the winking owl and bulldog with angry eyebrows. Just judging by the amount of detail its plausible they could be part of a Harry Potter set, which has had a lot of detailed animals in the last year. Is it possibly they could come in a set that wouldn't normally be shown in a catalogue such as an exclusive set, or a 4+ set or even a Harry Potter movie maker set based around Privet Drive? -

There seems to be a shortage of SW9 sets so far but isn't there a possibility that there's some exclusives for the wave we don't know about yet? I remember in past years there's been a few sets that release at the same time or a month later that don't leak until full boxart is revealed or a minifigure emerges from a factory. Personally I think there definitely could be some sort of playset or important vehicle from 9 that will suddenly emerge around December time ready for a January/March release. -

How does everyone feel about getting minor characters in school robes this series? Personally I'd love it if we got more torsos for Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin robes as the only problem I've had with this years sets is that there was only one set with a proper Hogwarts uniform in it and that was the Advent Calendar! I would love to get Crabbe and Goyle with Slytherin robes similar to the printed Gryffindor robes from the first cmf series, with either enchanted cakes or Malfoy as a ferret for their accessories. Luna in her Ravenclaw robes and lion hat would also be cool, or maybe Justin Finch-Fletchley with a snake from COS. I can't think of many prominent Hufflepuffs from the films who would appear in their uniform though apart from Cedric, who we've already gotten three minifigures for. I feel like as long as we got interesting accessories with school minifigures they wouldn't be a wasted slot but maybe its just because I want to stop my Hogwarts being 90% populated with Gryffindors! -

I think if the sets leak before the cmf series we might have a good idea of what to expect based on minifigures that aren't included in the wave. Personally I think now would be the best time for a Grimmauld Place set in the style of the Doctor Strange Sanctum from the Infinity War sets, which would then make Sirius and Kreacher minifigures in the cmf unlikely. What I think would be really cool would be if there's a Room of Requirement set with the trio and Ron and Hermione's patronuses alongside a Death Eater manikin and Malfoy and then Neville, Ginny and Luna with their patronuses in the minifigure series. Also if we don't finally get Tonks and Kingsley minifigures I'm going to be very surprised. On another note what would be the worst character to be included in the minifigure series? Mine would be Mrs Figg from Order of the Phoenix -

I was just thinking about minifigures that would be a good fit for the Advent Calendars and just had the idea of including some of the Hogwarts Ghosts! They're entirely exclusive to Hogwarts in the movies and even have ties to Christmas with the choir ghosts in the first film. Also probably wouldn't need new molds, just new prints or pieces in new colours which Lego have already done for this Advent Calendar. I remember the original cmf rumours last year where there was a fake list with like five Hogwarts ghosts but after seeing the amazing Nearly Headless Neck minifigure I think it'd be great to get the Fat Friar and Grey Lady to go alongside him (and maybe the Bloody Baron, I can't quite remember but I think he swoops over a table in the first Great Hall scene). -

This is a really good point, I could totally see Lego rereleasing a lot of the most popular and memorable locations and vehicles in a few years time. Over the years they've already made 3 different versions of a Quidditch set, 4 Hogwarts Expresses and 3 flying cars! I could definitely see the car being put in a Privet Drive set to make it more exciting, and Lego could always make a Quidditch set based of Half Blood Prince as well. I know some Star Wars fans particularly get annoyed about rereleases but if they keep the theme going so we can get more sets from the earlier films in the future I'm all for it! I really hope Lego do go back eventually to cover the Chamber of Secrets and the Second Task -

Oh my god these two sets are amazing! Standouts for me are the new variant for Hagrid, the Death Eater Figure and the entire design of the Beauxbaton carriage, its absolutely stunning! I wasn't so impressed with some of the previous sets and already had older versions of Hagrid's Hut and the Horntail but will be definitely be getting Expecto Patronum and these two, they're all fairly inexpensive and the minifigure selections are absolutely amazing! -

My mistake, yes it is. The picture isn't the highest quality and it has been a while since I've seen the series. I also think the new hairpiece for Will could be used for a lot of other characters, maybe as a replacement for the hairpiece that always used for Young Anakin in Phantom Menace. -

Just seen a picture of all the Stranger Things minifigures (out of the box and constructed) and it looks like Will and Lucas both have new hair pieces! Lucas has the goggles and Will has a bowl cut, which are both really accurate. Its good to see that Lego are willing to invest even more new molds into this set. -

I love it how most of the Advent calender so far seems to be interior fittings for Hogwarts / Christmas displays, as this way there's stuff to put in Hogwarts should you try to expand it. Also loving those christmas tree and fireplace builds! The red Dumbledore figure is also my favourite out of the three new Dumbledore figures so far so it'll be good to get him without having to buy the Great Hall. This definitely seems like our last chance to get the OG Flitwick as well, I remember a scene in the first film where he is levitating baubles onto a christmas tree so that'd definitely fit here. I remember reading somewhere on here that Lego cannot reuse prints from minifigure series in normal sets so I really hope its not the Goblet of Fire Flitwick again. -

My theory on how Lego would handle a Chamber of Secrets set is that it would connect to the side of a part of the castle and look like a normal part of Hogwarts from the outside with a tower for moany myrtles bathroom. I’d rather Lego do that as even if the Chamber were placed under the great hall it would still be level with the ground floors of other parts of Hogwarts and this way it might look better than with what Lego did with jabbas palace and the rancor pit. -

I love Lego minifigures and the Harry Potter characters I got last year was amazing but I feel like we should all keep an open mind until we see the actual official images of the sets! So far the only information we've got to go on is a description of the preliminary set builds from a Toy Fair and a few minifigure pieces which were stolen from factories and cobbled together afterwards! Hardly enough to judge a whole wave of 5-7 sets on . Personally I was absolutely blown away by the amazing builds from last year so I will withhold judgement until we see see the official set pictures (hopefully in a few weeks). -

Its weird how Harry Potter is being treated so confidentially considering how old the line is. Though maybe the designers started on the wave later than some of the other themes after the last wave was so successful? I think the Ninjago ice dragon has new molded wings so hopefully the Horntail will get new wings as well! There's also a giant brickbuilt snake that is an awesome design and would be the perfect size for the Basilisk! All it would need on top of the techniques used for the Ninjago snake would be a new unique head -

The short legs are the same height as a brick, the mid legs are one stud taller The usual dress slope that Lego used to have for skirts would then make Hermione two studs taller than Ron or Harry so it'll be interesting to see what Lego does
