    Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

Looking at the lovely print for the picture of Harry's parents it's a shame Lily didn't come with a hat-hair combo as that would help make the figure look a lot less plain, even though it would make her a bit less recognisable. As I'm planning to just put all my non-Hogwarts-based Harry Potter civilians in Diagon Alley I reckon I could get away with making James and Lily a part of that display, as long as I don't include any current students which confuse the time frames

I'd say Borgin and Burkes is the most inaccurate, although its not really shown clearly that was the blandest building by far in the original set, especially when it was filled with so many great Dark Magic artefacts in the books and films Also I definitely agree that we need to keep our expectations in check over the size and detail of the buildings, I would definitely expect them to be around the size of that Ollivanders with none bigger than the Privet Drive set (as an example of a building with around 700 pieces). Also the original Diagon Alley already had 2000 pieces! Even if this new set is double that to me I would imagine they would only be able to do 6 shops in detail, even if they did not have full interiors.

An alley build next to Borgin and Burkes with some signs would be more than enough for me! Hopefully Borgin and Burkes will have the floo feature for Chamber of Secrets but also the stairs and roof where the trio eavesdrop on Draco's Death Eater initiation.

I think that's more likely to be Year 6 in line with WWW as it was the summer at the end of Year 5 / start of Year 6 that the Ministry officially acknowledged Voldemort's return Edit: Also I hope we get some more unique Daily Prophet newspaper prints! I've got loads of the "Boy Who Lived!" ones but I miss unique prints like the 2010 newspapers for the Mass Breakout from Azkaban!

Oh oops! I haven't got a Quirrell minifigure since the 2001 version but even then I was mostly referring to Lucius and Rita Skeeter and Lockhart, who I almost completely forgot! It's probably too late over here to keep speculating about this D2C but the stickers have just made me more awake!

Okay wow wow wow Out of all the potential leaks I was not expecting another sticker sheet, the exact same thing happened with Privet Drive! Maybe sticker sheets will be our main source of information now instead of stolen minifigures! So I definitely think there are missing stickers / printed pieces for the Leaky Cauldron / Borgin and Burkes. One of our only two confirmed minifigures comes with floo network from that particular scene after all - if there's not a floo function for Harry built into the set I'll eat a (chocolate) cauldron. Also Leaky Cauldron can include a load of great Diagon Alley minifigures including Tom the Innkeeper, Daedalus Diggle and Quirrell (does anyone else remember the 2010 Harry Potter 1-4 game where Quirrell was always skulking around Diagon Alley?! good times) Also if the long-awaited Quirrell, Lucius and Rita Skeeter minifigures are all included in this £300-400 set I would be both amused and frustrated for all those that can't afford this, which could potentially include me if I run out of money buying all the other sets first TLDR: I think the stickers are just for Florean Fortescue's shop I think Borgin and Burkes will be included I think there will be a fully model of the Leaky Cauldron I'm not sure about Gringotts but would happily buy an individual set with the dragon on top next year My top 3 expected minifigures are Lucius Malfoy, Daedalus Diggle and the old witch that is creepy towards Harry in Knockturn Alley. And Lockhart!

It should be quite easy to MOD a Leaky Cauldron if it is not included but I hope at the very least there's the brick-wall-opening functioning, that definitely has to be included I just realised that if there are 16 figures included in Diagon Alley it would come with the same amount as the minifigure series! That would be funny if it did and might help me justify the price to myself (seeing as how the cost of a full sixteen minifigures is now £56 according to my maths)

If Florean Fortescue, the ice cream minor character whose in a grand total of 3 chapters and 2 seconds of screentime as featured then anything less than 15 minifigures would be very surprising . I feel like this is a set where Lego will throw in all sorts of side characters to justify the size even more for hardcore AFOL Harry Potter fans Also I had a few thoughts regarding potential minifigures: If the Leaky Cauldron is included then I think characters from that scene in the first film are very likely such as the original Tom the Barman (with hair), Daedalus Diggle and even Quirrel (Lego can then reuse his minifigure from the Great Hall) If Flourish and Blotts is included then I think Lockhart, Lucius Malfoy, Draco and Ginny are very likely to recreate that particular scene from Chamber of Secrets. Ginny's cauldron and Tom Riddle's diary could even be included. Also if yet another Ginny comes in this set, this time with miniature legs, would that count as enough Ginny variants for everyone on this forum?

That sounds reasonable and would look really good

How much of a street are you thinking of? Because I think there should be a modular row of shops that all connect to each other. A bit of pavement in front of each would be fine too but no more than the Modular City sets. I'm of the opinion that creating the full street between the shops will probably be really easy to do with a lot of grey plates so I would rather Lego did not devote a huge piece count to the street outside of the shops. That is a fun fact! I remember hearing somewhere that JK Rowling studied Classical Civilisations; maybe that's why? It would be neat if that was the reason why as Classical Civilisations was one of my A-Levels and studying Classical Sparta and the Bronze Age Aegean made up quite a considerable part of my degree too

I'd say half are from recent sets and half are purist customs. I've got about 10 Gryffindor torsos from the 2010 wave and those are distinctive because they have the Gryffindor coat of arms shield on the torso. I've also got one Slytherin jumper and two Gryffindor torsos from all the way back in 2004, when I got a few of the original Prisoner of Azkaban sets. One of those even has time-turner printing on it which is very useful but at the moment I've been using that for Percy instead of a prefect badge! I really like customising my own students especially when over the last 15 years the jumper printing has been fairly consistent. As I said a few pages back I'm waiting for a few copies of the Hogwarts Students Accessory Pack to be delivered and then I should be able to customise most, if not all, of the Hogwarts side characters. Good idea looking at the 3d puzzle! That model actually has the clearest pictures of some of the shops I've seen which is very useful for if there are more individual shops than the original set (which in my mind is very likely) I would be very surprised if this is all that the set includes as I feel like a Lego set would really need Gringotts and the Leaky Cauldron on either end to complete the street.

Don’t forget the Zouwu! That was my favourite beast in Crimes of Grindelwald I’ll have to look up the mc game of thrones dragons, they sound cool

LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I've liked some of the playsets, the Ewok Village was amazing and although it wasn't a UCS Jabba's Palace is now one of the only Star Wars sets I still display along with the 2015 Millenium Falcon.

Yeah I am and I think I'll be using the same hairpieces as they use in that set . However I'm more interested in minifigures in their Hogwarts uniforms than party variants, especially when the Yule Ball female figures don't have legs. It was very helpful seeing the official figures though, and the fact they officially have the same skin tone as Cho Chang makes me feel comfortable with reusing the Cho Chang heads from the Students Accessory packs. That looks great! I love the textured brick door frame piece you've got at the centre of the display and the fact you've got doubles of the Percival Graves and Moody figures to show their alternate identities!

I'm actually not sure yet! I'm going to use the Cho Chang heads from the packs but with different hairpieces so I guess it will depend on whether Padma looks different enough from Cho even if they both have Ravenclaw torsos. If Cho and Padma look too similar I'll probably use a Gryffindor torso for Padma just so she and Parvati look like they did in the films. From what I remember there's a thread on here for Harry Potter customs, I'll put what I make on there once I get the packs I remember thinking it was quite lame for a City Arctic set to just revolve around thawing out a frozen rat . The other two sets were great though, introducing a sabre tooth and a mammoth is lego animals. That being said I much prefer it when moulded or brick-built animals have articulated legs rather than just being one great big block like the Lego Dewback and Mammoth. Hopefully if we ever get a Zouwu it will have proper articulation (which is sadly even less likely than a moulded basilisk)
