Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I must rewatch the movies at some point because I really thought the only ghosts we see are the four house ghosts and Myrtle Whoopsie. Still, I refuse to believe they’d include a random ghost and some unnamed extra over actual named characters -
LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Exactly, there isn’t any wiggle room! Either the new rumour is wrong, or either Young Leia or R2-KT aren‘t part of the anniversary roster after all. If Leia isn‘t an anniversary fig, her set would have to be LO-LA, which is kinda too late However, R2-KT not being counted as one of the six would make some sense, since she‘s technically not a minifig and the only character not to be included in a regular set. -

The current rumour is 10, so there’s no reason to expect more, unless you want to be disappointed -

Both dwarves have mid-legs (i.e., the cleric in the set and the barbarian in the CMF), whereas the halfling druid in the CMF and the gnome fighter in the set both have short legs. It’s all consistent- 401 replies

Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I have to admit, I‘m curious how they‘ll handle it, since they seemingly confirmed that Gardner will have his signature bowl cut Based on that alone, I assume his role will be rather comical. It‘s exciting to think that TLG may be working on the sets as we speak, since I‘d assume them to launch next May. I really hope they‘ll have somewhat of a budget for the subtheme, given they have to share it with Marvel who undoubtedly is gonna use quite a big chunk of it for the F4 sets alone -
Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

@legoturtle: 4 points: That trailer is fake/fan-made. It even has the old title Gunn confirmed that Batman is not set to appear in this movie. Batman being involved or not has no bearing on the sets we might get. Superman should be able to sell merch on his own Even if Batsy was in the movie, he’d not have a big enough role to warrant a set. The movie gets released next summer, so why would there be sets this year already? -
Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
There are some unnamed teachers seen in the GH scenes, but definitely no generic ghosts, since there are only 5 ghosts at Hogwarts And why would they do an unnamed background teacher if they could include Vector? Granted, that used to be an unnamed extra too, but thanks to the LEGO games we now know it's her, same with Sinistra -

I fully expect them to recycle one of the three Jonkler minifigs from last year Batgirl hasn’t shown up since 2021, so the chances for a new design for her aren’t too bad I think -

Good question I hope grey, since it’s the only colour we have more than one ghost in (blue: Myrtle, GITD: Nick, grey: Myrtle, Nick, & Grey Lady) If it was a GITD Bloody Baron, we’d also need a Grey Lady in that colour to match them -

Middle of May sounds about right for a reveal Can’t wait for that! It’s gonna be so surreal to finally see an armoured Sauron minifig after more than 10 years -

Very curious about that as well. The fact that the 2021 GH set is still on shelves gives me hope that they wouldn’t include Nick and Sinistra again, as it’d be kinda silly to have two GH sets on shelves with highly specific overlap like that Also, having an obsure background character like Sinistra in two sets would be pretty ridiculous. My personal best case scenario would be Prof Vector and the Bloody Baron. The Fat Friar wouldn’t need any special pieces and could easily be featured in the AC, whereas the Baron would certainly benefit from a new hairpiece, which the AC couldn’t provide. -

Since the reveal could happen any day now and leaks are pretty unlikely, what are you looking forward to the most in this wave? For me, it’s: The troll. A new version has been overdue, and it being moulded sounds great! Karkaroff. Also overdue, and a pretty important gap to fill. Barty Crouch Sr. If it’s actually him in the first place, but it kinda has to be! The unknown professor, house ghost, and students. A lot of potential here, hopefully they deliver here! The Durmstrang ship. Hope it looks accurate at this scale The new Great Hall, especially if it’s as detailed as promised. Potions classroom. The description mentioned new flask pieces, right? Mme Malkin and the flower witch. Not exactly much to write home about, but still! The new Aragog. No idea if they can outdo the 2018 one, but maybe they actually will! Other potential new accessories or animals. No idea what, but they’ve always delivered here so far! -

Is it foolish to still hope for the 4+ set to also be based on BTAS? Or has it been confirmed to be a generic set and I missed it among all the aslume jokes and insane wishlists? (The notion of a 8-10 set wave solely based on The Batman turned me into the Jonkler for a good 10 seconds) -

There’s a shot of the upcoming book showing the concept drawing of a light flesh Zam Wesell minifig Seems like there may have been a cancelled AotC set at some point? Or maybe it was just for the Skywalker Saga game Edit: It‘s from a cancelled 2020 set Darn you!! -

Finished the Skyline set yesterday, and I have to say it‘s one of my favourite DC sets so far! Very enjoyable building experience with some fun and clever techniques, and the easter eggs are well done too Looks absolutely stunning on display! Great minifigs on top of that, even though the omission of Phantasm still hurts a bit R-rated movies don‘t get sets, simple as that. Also, why would anyone want toys based on those movies? -
Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I dunno, at this point I still feel a third series has become superfluous Of course we‘re still missing characters, but almost all of the ones people initially wanted for a third series have been realised in the meantime (like Pomfrey, Skeeter, a more detailed McGonagall, Tonks, Kreacher, etc.) and we‘re getting CMF-quality minifigs in regular sets like the latest McGonagall or last year‘s Hogwarts architect. And the budget for new parts is still very high. I wouldn‘t say no to a third series, but other licenses need additional series wayyyyy more than HP does now -
Despicable Me 2024 - Rumours & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in LEGO Licensed
The sets are pretty neat in my opinion and the number of different minions is impressive, but it still feels weird to see so few of the human characters overall Granted, it‘s awesome to have the entire family in one set, but it still feels more like Minions 3 rather than Despicable Me 4 Then again, the minions are what drive toy sales, so it‘s not really much of a surprise… -
Codename „orange“ turned out to be Despicable Me 4! The theme will launch in May at Smyths and June elsewhere. The following 5 sets are part of the theme: 30678, 48 pcs, €3.99, 6+ 75580, 136 pcs, €24.99, 6+ 75581, 379 pcs, €39.99, 7+ 75582, 839 pcs, €54.99, 9+ 75583, 868 pcs, €99.99, 8+ The price difference between the last two is striking, given the similar piece count!! Combined with the higher age recommendation, I guess 75582 could be a buildable figure?

Actually, I’m glad about that! While the dreadlock hairpiece would’ve been more accurate, it already came in black with that football set last year, while the hobbit hair in black would not exist otherwise They can still fix it in a future set, so win-win! -

The gorillas look even better in those new pictures! With all the animal pieces that exist now, they could finally do a zoo subtheme for City! Wonder why they still haven’t properly tackled that, it’d be a gold mine! Ethical concerns maybe?- 3878 replies

Pictures of the final set, the party bus, are also floating around! The mega minion in that one is Pinhead Larry! Interesting that the vilains are nowhere to be seen, but I already expected that based on the set names…
