LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
BrickBob Studpants replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The Swiss (game) store wog.ch brings us the first (small) pics of next years sets: http://www.wog.ch/index.cfm/browse/category/Lego-Star-Wars -
The character descriptions for Nori, Dori, Ori and the Goblin King were updated yesterday, but now I can't reach the product page anymore... Every time I enter thehobbit.lego.com, I find myself on the LOTR page instead Has this happened to someone else too?

To those who dislike Ori's hairpiece: Remember, that piece exists in different colours too (dk orange, light orange and reddish brown to be precise ) or you could simply use a gray hood for him. I mean, he does wear one on the first promotional pictures... (like this one: http://www.moviegod.de/images/galleries/images/00012/1149/1149_40126_l.jpg )

According to fbtb, an exclusive minifig is going to be given away at NYCC... I really hope it's nothing special as these figs are nearly impossible to acquire LEGO The Hobbit™ Following the first set reveal of the LEGO The Hobbit™ collection at San Diego Comic-Con, LEGO Systems will debut more LEGO stops on the “unexpected journey”, showing fans two additional LEGO The Hobbit sets on Friday, October 12th in advance of the entire collection launching this December. An exclusive minifigure giveaway will take place Friday and Saturday at 4 p.m. Life-sized models of actors Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and Sir Ian McKellen as Gandalf the Grey provide memorable photo ops, along with a contest and chance to sample the game play of LEGO Games: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey™, the new board game that launched on October 1. A Facebook contest surrounding the new game launched October 8. Well, I don't think they'll ditch those two sets nor will they replace them. The latter is simply impossible due to the time it takes to design, produce and distribute sets and the former is unlikely too as we wouldn't get all 13 dwarves in the first wave (imagine how consumers including us would have reacted if we didn't get the whole fellowship in the LOTR sets; and the reaction would probably pretty much the same here). And don't forget, the "Escape in barells" set is said to be a retailer exclusive, I'm sure retailers wouldn't be happy if TLG cancelled (or rather postponed) their exclusive set @Legonardo: Now I really wish we'll get that Saruman minifig

Speaking of D2C sets, we haven't heard anything about next years D2C set, have we? If you take a look at the D2C sets we've had in recent years, a LOTR one seems very likely (the last ones being based on Kingdoms, Harry Potter, Pirates and Castle). Besides, what other theme could it be from? Monster Fighters has already got a big exclusive set, Friends seems incredibly unlikely, Ninjago is already rumoured to get a decent send-off with 6 new sets, Superheroes would be next to impossible as TLG is apparently trying to even out the amount of Marvel and DC based sets (thus we'd need two D2C sets to settle the score) and the remaining themes don't appear to be fitting for such a set. If I recall correctly, the D2C sets are usually revealed around October, so it shouldn't take to long now...
-
Um, that's his beard I absolutely love the new dwarves, my favourite has to be Bombur. I really didn't expect TLG to produce this amount of new moulds Now I can't wait to see the rest of them
-
The sets are also available in some Swiss toy stores, so it shouldn't take long for the rest of Europe to get them BTW, the set exclusivity seems to be different around here, by this I mean that the Weathertop set is the exclusive one instead of the Orc Forge (the latter is available at every place that sells the LOTR sets and is featured in the catalog, Weathertop on the other hand is currently only available on s@h and absent from the catalog). Quite a weird choice as you can't complete the Fellowship without owning 9472, so that one should be more essential than the Forge and therefore easier to be acquired

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
BrickBob Studpants replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
The Flying Dutchman vs. The Kraken ?? What movie are they refering to, some sort of Asylum knock-off? Or maybe it's depicting the (offscreen) scene of Jones having to kill his beloved pet Anyway, as CM4S pointed out, the set number is already in use, so the list is either fake or outdated -
I'm glad most of the minifigs have dual sided heads Though I'm not sure whether Gimli and Gandalf have alternate expressions as well, you can't really tell because of their beards And is it just me or does Theoden's alternate head really sport a huge grin (look in the left corner of the box of Helm's Deep)

I know, but it requires a GC controller and a memory card (which are both not that easy to find I think). I just hope they're going to rerelease it on the Wii U some day The only 3D Zelda game besides WW I still have to get is MM... I'm not sure whether I should buy the Virtual Console one or wait for the 3DS remake that is rumored to be produced after the release of the first 3DS exclusive Zelda game (which is said to be set in a 2D world btw).

I consider myself a huge Nintendo fan and it puts me to shame to confess that the first time I've ever played a Zelda game (besides SSBB of course) was last year As there weren't any Mario games around when I bought my 3DS in September, I decided to purchase OoT 3D, which turned out to be one of my best decisions ever. Now I know what I've been missing out on all those years and it saddens me that I'm not able to play a lot of these games (WW e.g., as I don't own a Gamecube). Recently I've bought both TP and Skyward Sword, but I want to complete TP before starting Skyward Sword TP is a fantastic game IMO and I even prefer it to Oot, so I'm really curious to see what Skyward Sword is going to be like in comparison

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
BrickBob Studpants replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Somehow I've seen that coming, but still sad news I'd really like to see the design TLG has come up with for this ship, but I don't think they're ever going to reveal it (unless someone finds that prelim pic a few people had seen). -
I've only seen the movies as well, and the Jackson trilogy is one of my favourite film franchises I have to say (besides Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Nolan's Batman trilogy and so on ) I've never read the books but I got information on most of the differences between the movies and the films, but quite frankly I don't get the outrage those caused among the diehard fans of the books The inclusion of the elves in the battle of helm's deep e.g. that most fans seem to detest was a nice idea IMO (and without it, we probably wouldn't get a Haldir minifig ). @palathadric: To be honest, I'm glad they've changed that since the placement of that chapter seems really awkward, I mean it happens after Sauron gets defeated Imagine if in ROTJ there was still a major antagonist left to be defeated after Palpatine's death, it would feel somewhat anti-climatic... But that's just my two cents P.S.: Please don't burn me as a heretic
-
I really like Gollum's design I have to say, the stud on the back doesn't bother me at all (even though I still can't figure out its purpose ). And I think we'll see another facial expression of his, remember he's going to appear in the Hobbit as well

They're definitely going to have different face prints Gandalf: Magneto: Edit: Too late -
Don't worry, the picture I've posted is preliminary, the final minifigs will look like the physical ones we've seen at the toy fair
-
I wonder about that too, it's really strange to see final pictures and bios of the characters this early Compare it too POTC or HP, both themes were given character bios on lego.com, but that didn't happen until 1-2 months before their respective release... I guess it's a cunning strategy to boost the hype

I've just found this picture on theonering.net that confirms that the newly-"born" Uruk-hai in the Orc Forge is Lurtz, so this will be our first non-generic villain http://www-images.theonering.org/torwp/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/The-Orc-Forge-Target-Exclusive-2.jpg BTW, that black thing inside the Weathertop really looks like a Palantir pedestal, so I hope we'll get a Palantir in the final version of the set, preferably with Sauron's Eye printed on it (even though it doesn't make sense in that scene) I guess we won't get Sauron in his "human" form (seeing that he only appeared in the prologue that way) and the Tower of Barad-dûr seems a little unlikely to me (except maybe as an UCS set), so this would be a nice way to get something Sauron-related
-
Here are my ideas: - Dark tan jacket (from DH2) - Wedding suit (DH1) - Albert Runcorn disguise (DH1) - Pyjama

I've just found a picture of the minifig book on brickipedia: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/LEGO_Harry_Potter:_Characters_of_the_Magical_World Too bad the exclusive minifig is going to be another version of Harry
