LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
BrickBob Studpants replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
@wesker: it's definitely rubbery ;) Interestingly, Leia's hairpiece and Rebo's head were inside the "china bags", whereas Ree-Yees' head (which is also made of rubber) was laying around openly in one of the numbered bags... P.S: I've finally managed to upload all pictures I took of the new sets: http://www.flickr.com/photos/darthguy/ I can wholeheartedly recommend all of them, the redesigns are all superior to previous versions (even the Sailbarge, whose front looks way better in person) and the entirely new sets are great too. And I'm glad they finally resized the boxes, otherwise I'd have run out of storage space quite soon ^^ -

Press Release 10237 - Tower of Orthanc
BrickBob Studpants replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
As with the Hobbit sets, TLG provides us with atmospheric shots of the set (via theonering.net): http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2013/04/26/71149-lego-unveils-the-tower-of-orthanc/# A few inaccuracies here and there (e.g. Grima being there at the time Gandalf arrives), but the pictures do look great. I really can't wait for this set -

Custom Detective Conan/ Case Closed minifigs
BrickBob Studpants posted a topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Title says it all, I present you my custom Detectiv Conan (also known as Case Closed) minifigures: Conan Edogawa: Ran Mori alias Rachel Moore: Kogoro Mori alias Richard Moore: If you wonder about the different names, here's the explanation: In Europe and Japan, the anime/ manga series is known as "Detective Conan". All names of all characters are Japanese of course. But it's also known as "Case Closed" in the USA. In that version, they also changed the characters' names. ;-) Comparation pic: http://www.detectiveconanweb.com/detective...iversario10.jpg -
Special VIP Minifig Keychain?

I didn't get one either... Maybe they were distributed randomly, as I had spent quite a fortune on LEGO sets during the last year- 94 replies

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I find it somewhat doubtful that a new set is going to be revealed at LEGO world because it has already started and there hasn't been a report of a scheduled reveal. As far as I know, TLG usually made an announcement before the start of the respective event... And the source of this rumor states that the next exclusive set is going to be revealed outside of the US, but it didn't mention which event was meant Hopefully I'm wrong though...- 7500 replies

Or you could put one of these neck brackets (http://img.bricklink.com/P/6/42446.gif) on a non-bearded minifig and attach the eagle's claws to it. Of course it would look mighty silly, but it's better than nothing- 7500 replies

Check out brickset's flickr-stream for a couple of pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/92090133@N04/ Highlights include that new bug spaceship with printed domes and that cute mini-scorpion alien

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Sorry to those who couldn't solve the riddle, I probably should've added the solution in spoiler tags @TheDoctor & Faefrost: Of course it's preliminary, but it wouldn't make much sense to have those pieces in yellow in the prelim picture and then replace them by the usual clear ones for the final product. And it's definitely yellow at least in this pic, just look at the rim of the crystal balls: if it was just a yellow piece in a regular crystal ball it wouldn't look like that (compare it with the crystal ball on the table, the rim isn't orange even though there's a orange part inside) I know it's just a minor thing, but I'm always looking forward to old parts in new colours- 7500 replies

Check out http://www.lordofthebrick.com/ for another riddle that leads to a new prelim pic, this time showing a close-up of all four sets It seems we're getting trans-yellow crystal balls and a special staff for Saruman in 79005- 7500 replies

Which is kinda ironic, seeing that he was the first corsair to die in the film (if it is indeed the one PJ portrayed) I might be in a minority here, but I really wish the palantir to be translucent, as I'm a sucker for transparent pieces- 7500 replies

BrickBob Studpants replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That doesn't make a whole lot of sense, unless they somehow threw the Black Gate and Barad-dûr into a blender or they did a forced perspective sort of thing with a mini tower- 7500 replies

So they'll use a minifig head as the palantir? That could make for some creepy minifigs when combined with different headgear pieces (like the Cyclops head from CMF series 9)- 7500 replies

Fellow AFOLs at http://www.lordofthebrick.com/ have discovered a better (though still preliminary) picture of 79007 "Battle at the Black Gate" on a Canadian website. This definitely confirms the presence of both the eagle and the Mouth of Sauron- 7500 replies

Thanks a lot for running the raffle again, it's a great pleasure each year! And here's my entry: Gollum seems to be quite a fair-minded Santa, everyone get what they deserve (That is until he notices that he's accidentally given away something that's quite precious to him )

According to this site, Disney is trying to purchase Hasbro as well: http://wegotthiscovered.com/movies/disney-purchase-hasbro/?_r=true This seems quite dubious to me, I mean if this turns out to be true, Disney owns both Lucasfilm and Hasbro, so maybe they're going to keep the SW license for themselves and have TLG contract out of the agreement (if that's even legally possible, I don't know). Though I'm probably just painting too black a picture...

I'm convinced, the person who takes those awesome scenic pictures for the hobbit page has to be Avanaut himself (or at least be heavily inspired by him). I mean, compare the Yazneg vs Thorin picture with this one and tell me I'm wrong:

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned those great atmospheric shots that are featured on the official website (you know, the ones that appear when you select the sets on the map). They really look impressive I have to say and I hope they'll do something in that vein for other themes too I do wonder if Avanaut was involved, the resemblance in style is striking...

New pictures can be found here: http://www.wog.ch/index.cfm/browse/category/Lego-Legends-of-Chima And the people who guessed that the new wings found in the Arkham Asylum set are also going to be featured in this theme were right after all
