Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
Really? As if they haven‘t tortured us enough already Well, since 77014 is officially dead now, there’s no real point to the reveal any more anyway. We already have good pictures of the three sets. And a hint towards DoD is not exactly likely -

The good news is that 77012, -13, and -15 have been added to the instruction portal, so the reveal will be today!! The bad news: well, guess which number is missing. Fudge. -

Yes. It's not the first time he had to call off a video and publish it at a later date. Maybe he needed to verify the information again -

Maybe he had to delay it. Didn‘t he delete his IG story a while ago? -
Thank you! Personally, I‘m a purist, so removing parts is a no-no for me Maybe you can adjust your shelf a bit? For me, it‘s a matter of space I wouldn‘t display Rivendell so close to Jokerland if I had unlimited space

Ahhh, the good ol‘ minimal effort fake leaks. How I have missed them. NOT. Are people bored or something? Same with those ridiculous Red Hood and Garfield Spiderman „leaks“ -

True, but why else would he call it a „super“ leak? Has to be SH-related. I expect more info on the unknown sets -

Correlation is not causation Something tells me they didn‘t make a minifig with an expensive new part just because a random Youtuber asked for it. And yeah, that „leaked“ minifig looks absolutely fake. Try harder. NEXT -

The $80 info was from Target, right? Maybe they simply mixed up the prices for 77013 and 77014 Looks like it At least this means the worst-case scenario can be ruled out (that being them secretly dumping the sets on s@h). The second-worst scenario is still possible, mind. That would be them revealing the three sets, but providing no hints towards DoD sets (like „more to come later“). The second-best option would be a hint towards DoD, and the best would be an explanation as to what happened to the ToD set -

That's a D2C set and not an entire theme. It's not uncommon for them to only get revealed shortly before release. Avatar was announced as a theme last March. One of the sets was then revealed during LEGO Con in June, and four more ahead of SDCC. So, everything was revealed looooooooooong before the eventual release in October -

Same. I dig its creepy design. Also, it’s another noteworthy example of existing in the SW universe -

Another reason I don‘t miss leaked prelim or otherwise low-quality pictures (aside from teasing sets that may never see the light of day): they consistently make sets look worse than they actually are. I’d much rather have leaked descriptions and minifig factory leaks, and nothing else -
Finished mine yesterday! Amazing building experience, and I love how it looks on display. Definitely among my top 5 sets of all time, if not top 3 even

Weird strategy. Why is a set based on one of the first two episodes scheduled for August, while a set based on a later one gets released in May? Anyway, looking forward to the reveal, even though the potential for new characters is pretty limited. Looks like we have to wait until 2024 for the more juicy, spoilery stuff -

Scalpers gonna scalp, but that’d be extreme even for them The sets will surely have a normal shelf life of about 18 months. At least there’s nothing to suggest otherwise -

Good thing I don’t have a car They metaphorically keyed my perfect Indy revival already, that’s enough damage Yeah, I sometimes feel the same way. Then I remember how excellent the three sets are And then I remember that we can’t hope for more sets in 2024 if this all the output we’re getting this year. In essence, I’ve never felt so ambivalent about a theme before. It’s just weird. -

Good question! They leaked during Nuremberg Toy Fair, but I thought that was just a coincidence. If they were taken at the fair, wouldn’t it have made more sense to take pictures of the sets on display rather than the boxart? -

The survey leak included D2C sets with blank backgrounds and huge watermarks, while the Indy sets had finished boxart and no watermarks. They leaked in quick succession, but had no relation -

What survey? That was leaked boxart, and it was in the same stage of development as the other three sets. They look identical to the finalised versions! Still doesn’t explain why TLG is missing from the list of licensees. -

It’s simple: nothing. I guess they will just unceremonously be dumped on s@h without any other kind of acknowledgement Points in favour of the DoD wave still getting released: The set numbers existing at one point, which honestly doesn’t mean much The extremely small chance they were delayed, which is absurd as they had an entire additional year to work on them thanks to the movie’s delay. Points speaking against a release: No part counts or prices TLG not being mentioned among the official licensing partners for DoD Retailers not being able to order them The release date of the other three sets. Why June, if another wave is coming? Wouldn’t a widespread April release have made much more sense in that case? -

https://www.promobricks.de/lego-indiana-jones-2023-neuheiten/159229/ Again, it’s not conclusive evidence, but even sets releasing in October are listed. If those four sets were still coming, why can’t retailers order them and why wasn’t TLG announced as one of the licensees? Call me a pessimist, but I’m convinced TLG really did cancel the whole wave for whatever unfathomable reason and now release the three remaining sets with as little care, effort, and fanfare as possible, simply to fulfill the contract with Lucasfilm, and that’s it. -

I told y’all that just because there is apparently no fourth starter set nor a new character series you couldn’t conclude that minifig sets are coming I like the look of this! Dry Browser, Dry Piranha Plant and the Blarrg (?) all look great! -
Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, even Promobricks are now saying that a release of the DoD sets is looking more and more unlikely since retailers cannot order them Combined with TLG’s omission in the DoD merch press release, I think we have to come to terms with the reality that these three sets are all there is to this pathetic half-baked failure of a revival. This whole thing is starting to frustrate me to the point I’m not even looking forward to the movie anymore. What an absolute sh*tshow -

It’s not the same. In the Smyths teaser, the whip is curled up, while it’s fully extended in the artwork on the box. Still, it has the Lucasfilm trademark on the side and everything. I highly doubt Smyths did that without explicit permission from TLG
