Link to Iron Man 3 concept art: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/MarvelFreshman/news/?a=79425 This really explains the choices in terms of the Mandarin figure's hair, beard, and combat vest. Also, some cool artwork of the suits in the film. -

Just bringing an idea up-DC is swapping out most if not all of their animated lineup which could be a reason why we haven't seen any animated based sets yet. Seeing as there is no movie material for next year's DC sets, there is possibility of Teen Titans Go and Beware the Batman lines. One real seller for me on Beware the Batman is the possibility of an updated Alfred figure-he appears to be integral to the action in that series. -
Official Lego Club - IRON MAN "Tony Stark's Laboratory" In
montgocloud replied to becauseBATMAN's topic in LEGO Licensed
Judging by instruction steps 25-29, it does not appear to actually turn. I could be and would love to be wrong though (even if it would take little effort to mod). -
This set impresses me more than both the Sail Barge and the Gunship... Great... Another must-get flagship set. Expensive year!

Official Lego Club - IRON MAN "Tony Stark's Laboratory" In

When I first heard about this I had hoped it would be an alternate build of some combined Iron Man 3 sets. But it looks like it's necessary to buy multiple Malibu Mansion sets and Bricklink 90% of the parts to build this. It does look fantastic though-a minor gripe is that the center circular platform isn't on a turntable. -
Not to be an annoyance, but could this review be indexed? I would hate for it to be lost from existence (like some of my liscensed reviews).

I would not like that personally. Not all movie theaters would carry the figure and it would be a hassle to research and then, once you get there, it might not be in stock anymore. -
That would be fantastic. Lego's recent Hobbit line proved that they do not have a huge aversions to bars. I doubt they would include a hanger for a non-included set though.

I love the boxes as well. I'd say that everything started to go downhill post 2004, but the 99-01 boxes are by far my favorite. Classic LEGO Star Wars there. You have to remember what time this was made in. Of course these days it looks horrible, but (again comparing it to video games) that's like saying the Legend of Zelda is bad because of its 8 bit graphics. I'll be back soon with a review of the one and only Cloud City!

I commend LEGO for creating the Slave I so soon in their license-it was a huge risk. While highly identifiable by adults, I'm not sure that Boba Fett was widely known by kids in 2000. I'm guessing they released a small set just in case it didn't do too well. Thanks! The only other incarnation of the set I have was the one released in 2011, and that one was broken down for parts unfortunately. I should have done a comparison photo with the minifigures though. Next review, I suppose. I feel the same way. New Boba's helmet is a work of art, and the printing may be much more accurate, but the old Boba still has its rightfully earned place. Also, could a mod please add a poll to the topic? That would be fantastic.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
montgocloud replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I just find that the sets 10-30$ have over-simplified builds and that is my main problem I guess. There are exceptions, but the Man of Steel sets don't appear to be part of them. I could be wrong, I mean I don't have them yet. -
I'm exactly the same way. It had a lot of cool features and a HUGE troop bay. I'm disappointed that I missed out on it.
-
Am I the only one that thinks that the Republic Gunship is lacking in features? The 2002 version had an opening engine and an opening command center, and ball turrets. The 2008 Clone Wars model had a smaller command center (but it was still there), a bacta tank, spy droids, a bigger landing bay, a speeder bike, and storage in the back above the rear turret. 75021 seems to only contain a removable turret section, ball turrets, a slightly bigger landing bay than the 2002 version, a smaller speeder bike, and storage in the back like the 2008 model. A lot of feature space seems to be wasted with the carrying handle. That said, I'll still buy it.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

It appears that way. Overall this is quite a disappointing turn out compared to last year's sets. I'm not sure why the builds are so atrocious this year. Personally, I think the main problem is the lack of flagship sets. Instead of doing the "Black Zero Escape" set, it would have been much cooler to see a 80-100$ Black Zero model! Iron Man 3 would have benefited with a more expensive Malibu Mansion (even though the one that we got is great for the price). I hope this problem is fixed for next year's waves of sets. -

I think this has to do with the kind of license that LEGO has. They aren't allowed to produce "action figure" type products, just construction sets. I could be wrong though. -
REVIEW: 6863 Batwing Battle Over Gotham City
montgocloud replied to montgocloud's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yes GingerWookie, I do know they are part of the DC Universe And just out of curiosity, in the '06 Batman line, one of Batman's weapons was a Batarang with some sort of hole in the middle. Anybody know what that is? I have been confused for five years. -

Oky, the only gear that Batman comes with is one Batarang. Kind of dissapointing. And thanks for front paging this! Is there any way I could add a poll to the topic? -
REVIEW: 6863 Batwing Battle Over Gotham City

The MSRP is actually $34.99. And marcosbessa... You created this set? I may not have shown it really well in the review, but I actually LOVE the Batwing! The fact that it is so compact but yet so full of features amazes me. It is a great set! -
At first I really was disliking these sets. But it seems that every time I look at them now, they keep growing on me! The only one that I am disappointed of is the Batcave. No Alfred, bizarre vehicle for Bane, but it looks like I'll have to get it because of the villains themselves. They are wonderful I'm wondering how the Marvel sets will turn out though... I love Captain America but LEGO's version of him at Comic-Con was... disturbing.

Actully I decided not to include my entry. Thanks. -
Quick Question: I was thinking of buying a large LEGO set for myself tommorrow as I have a little over 100$ lying around. I was wondering if the Podracer set was available yet. If not, I may get the two medium sized Pirates of the Carribean sets since I really loved the Whitecap Bay set.

Cancelled. Read other post. -
Here it is. By demand of Scorpiox, I added a new Bat-Themed vehicle! The establishing shot. Wait! Where is the suit changer? And what is this mysterious support! Why it is the Batwing! It has a fairly simple design, and I built the whole structure in about 2 hours. The cockpit! See it looks like a bat! LEGO's design was too complicated and deteriorated from the Bat image. The Bat-Missle? The Sky-Pod. It detaches so that Batman can get out of sticky situations. The attaching mechanism. This was VERY simple to make. Note: regular supports will not hold the Batwing. The final shot. Questions, comments?
