Awesome! Thanks for doing this, good to get caught up on the lore of GOH! I've been watching the builds, but I am just now getting into the storyline, so this is super helpful! :)

I like that idea, especially 12 x 12, because it fits in with the Summer Joust. :P And as for a prize or title, I say some special role or title or ownership of land in Book 3. Or maybe not a prize at all, just have it to keep up activity.

Yeah, I agree. Any time you are part of any kind of community in Lego, you really start to improve.I have a group of fellow castle builders that I continually share WIPs with, and it has helped me so much. I wish there was a way to tell that to all the newer builders that.

Yeah, I am wondering the same thing. Of course either way you choose, the leadership is gonna make some people happy and make some people mad, as it always does. So, are you guys choosing based on which guild has the more people interested in it or are you guys are going to decide and have the people follow whatever the choice? From an outside point of view, aka an Avalonian a Mitgardian or a Kaliphlin, I assume most would want something new and exciting such as a new governmental power, while others may want to have the original 4 guilds up and running. Do you think putting out a poll for the members of the 3 other guilds to vote on which guild should be open is better? Or have you guys decided to make the guild choice in amongst the leadership? As you guys are in charge, either way you decide, the regular members are listening to you guys and we will follow. Super excited to get building for Book 3! :D

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
TheLordOfBricks replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
@Grover Thanks! As for the pic, I have an unofficial one not in a build, so I'll show that. :) Fig is eh, I have very few castle figs aside from LOTR. I joined GOH mainly for the community and building. :) Quick question, you all can see that right? :) @soccerkid6 Thanks Isaac! Hehe, yeah, Mitgardia was my second choice, and it boiled down to the fact that I don't have enough white slopes and pieces to build any large scene in Mitgardia. I struggled debating between the two. :) @de Gothia Thanks! :) @TitusV Thanks! :) -
Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

I'd like to sign up for Avalonia! I will start in Book III, so I am not sure if I should comment here, but here it is anyways. :) Sigfig Intro: Fingarfelin - A Human who dwells as a Hermit in the Darkwood Forest of Avalonia. Fingarfelin loves nature above all else and although he is a hermit, he is somewhat social, although welcomed by only a few. He is somewhat clumsy and the only weapon he is able to wield is an axe. His parents have sent him away to whatever life he could find and he chose to be a hermit. He lost all contact to his parents until recently. Which bore the news that his mother had since then died, leaving him with only his father and his brother left. Although he is alone for a good portion of his time, he sticks to his few friends that he has. That being said, super excited to start building for this and I can't wait to hang out with one of the largest castle communities. :) -
Alright, I've been wanting to join for a year now, and I have finally decided to jump in on the fun, what better time to start than with a new book. :) I would like to join Avalonia, and I'll have an intro near the time when Book 3 is released. :) I'll go sign up in the Book II Avalonia thread. :) Anything else I need to do until I get my character intro for Book III? Thanks! (Sorry for being unexperienced, I may be asking this in the wrong thread, but once I get started, I won't be so needy. ;) )

Thanks! :) Thank you! :) Thanks! :) Thanks Isaac! Yeah, I am kinda bummed with the trees being having so few leaves, but I didn't have the drive to order more as I had just gotten an order for this build. Thanks again! :) Thanks! Those are actually his beehives that he has on his roof, it does kinda look like chimney's though. :/ Thanks again! Thank you! Unfortunately I didn't have the time or pieces to create an interior. Much appreciated! Thanks! Glad you noticed the small details like those triangular windows, which were quite tricky, and yes, I prefer barrels to brick rounds, because it gives a better texture IMO. Yeah, I still love EB, but I am a little disappointed with all the set reviews and not so many mocs. Thanks again! :) Thanks! :) That's the goal! Glad it came through! :)

Hello! This is my seventh of 19 posts I will be doing, where I will be building my way through the Hobbit story, one chapter per post, I will do this over the course of the year... Here is my build of Beorn's House for my Hobbit Project! It took me 4 months of building (5 months total), is around 7,500 pieces and the maximum base size is 105 x 56. It was a ton of fun to build and I am pleased with the result. :) I was gonna bring this to BFAL, but that was 4 months ago. This is my first build of the year, and the first post that I actually built in time of having a flickr account. With this and one other build, I will be taking a break from my Hobbit Project for 2-3 months to build regular castle for a while. :) Some great inspiration came from builders like Patrick B and Simon NH for all the tools and animals on the ground. For the house itself, I got most of my inspiration from Weta Workshop's model, but I also looked closely at some of the great builds of Beorn's House by Dunedain98, Patrick B, and Caleb W's build for Caleb and Graeme's collab Hobbit Project which you should check out. :) Also, a huge thanks to the guys who helped me with all 20 WIPs I sent throughout the building process! :) I hope you enjoy! To my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be the glory! :D Also, how do you add pictures from a private flickr photo? Thanks!

Looking good! Nice shaping, and nice colors, especially that olive. :) I am not a big fan of the two tan pieces in the landscape, but it is a minor thing. And yeah, a handle would be nice. ;) Keep it up! :)

Yep! Make sure you get to ten posts quick so you can maximize the benefits of using EB, I got my account back in mid 2016, but didn't really use it until early 2017, because of the ten post rule. :)- 10 replies

Adorable! Really love those steps, I,ve always thought that piece would make some good micro steps, just haven't done it yet. Overall awesome job!

Really nice! That arch is beautiful, and the lovely horse to top it off. :) The colors and textures are great too! The boat is simple and great too. :) Keep it up! :)

Hey, I saw you took down your post about the contests, but just so you can get a feel for what the contests are like, I'll put some links here like I said I would. The Tourney, The Summer Joust, Middle Earth Lego Olympics, Colosal Battle Contest, Colosal Castle Contest. *Note, these are past contests, minus The Tourney, which is going on, and they might extend the deadline due to the number of entries. :) -
No problem! I'll get links sometime soon, and share them on here so you can look at them closer. :)
-
Yep! There are contests basically the whole way through the year! :) January-February is the Tourney, April-May is a Middle Earth contest called MELO, June-July is a pretty big contest called The Summer Joust, August is The Colossal Battle Contest, A small break for September and October, as school starts back for a lot of the TFOLs like me. ;) And finally the CCC which is November and December. These are some of the major castle contests throughout the year. :) There are some minor contests you can sometimes find as well. :)

Hello! Here is a scene I built of a small town section of bree! This is my 6th and final CCC entry! It will be in the village life category! So, about the build, it is on a 35 x 35 base with a stud overhang on two sides, so it fits in 36 x 36. :) I estimate it being around 2000 pieces that are used in this. :) I had fun experimenting with a bunch of wacky angles, and I like the sagging feel that I got. It was a lot of fun to build, so I hope you enjoy! :D Pics: Mainly inspired by Legonardo and The Maestro's excellent builds. :) Unfortunately, because I had to finish this tonight, the lighting didn't turn out too great, but thanks to Classical Bricks, the edit still turned out great for the main pic, but the other two are kind of lacking. I am still really pleased with the build though. :) C&C Appreciated! I hope you enjoyed! To God be the glory!

Wow! Very nice work! Those trees look great! The colors all around are great, but my favorite part has to be the stonework, you captured a really nice look with those. :D Excellent first moc! :) -
Thanks you two! :)
