It's a bit late to say this now, but for anyone in the UK Amazon have been having offers on certain Dimensions products as part of their Amazon Prime Day.

The thing is it's more of a third of the new 'story' as apparently the 3 story packs are a hybrid of retelling movies and continuing the story with Vorton.

Exactly my thoughts. It just seems so odd that they are banking on this new unproven movie for a large portion of content in year 2.

Is it really petty that I'm hoping that the new Ghostbusters is good so that it doesn't 'taint' the game?

There have never been any promises of extensions to year 1 franchises, so any hopes of more Doctor Who packs have been purely assumptions.

I find it unlikely that we'll get more Gremlins packs as we already have arguably the most recognisable characters. Also for Sonic I find more packs unlikely as it has been confirmed Tails won't be playable and surely he would be the first choice for a second Sonic pack.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for the connectables, the guys around here with knowledge on the subject have said that they aren't really anything to get excited about.

I just had a thought, I'm assuming LEGO will keep all Dimensions packs in production for a long time, because if they started discontinuing sets then it could become very expensive in the future to buy the older packs.

Actually yes that is the exception in this case, but there's supposedly sequels for Gremlins, Goonies and Beetlejuice in the works as well as A-Team and Knight Rider reboots. Tomorrow is Sonic's 25th anniversary, I'm 95% sure we'll get a little bit of Sonic gameplay.

The companies that have partnered with LEGO for Dimensions know what they're doing. Each of the older franchises we're getting in year 2 are rumoured to be getting sequels/reboots.

That picture is from the Doctor Who level. There is a part where Strax follows you wherever you go and this person has just happened to go in the Tardis so Strax followed him. The reason he shows on the character wheel is because it is just the way he is programmed in the game at that point, since he becomes a temporary member of your party.

Ahhhhh I see, I am in the same boat with the Ghostbusters pack, however I do like how they've still stuck to the mash-up nature of Dimensions by putting the other franchises into the movie, it's awesome, and I don't even watch Adventure Time but the gameplay I saw of Jake has convinced me to pick up at least the team pack.
