It sounds like a good idea until you have to buy that many parts. The logistics and time involved is just immense, not forgetting that there are some rare parts in the new falcon that cost an arm and a leg. Gathering that many parts from multiple sources soon becomes just as expensive. -
The boots look great. Are they ghostbusters legs or is there a cheaper option to use now? I still have 4 to do for my Empire army

I believe many take the rumours far too seriously and as such nobody has information that will change the Lego world. We should take the recent cancelled Vader pod as the prime example of rumours getting out of hand. I'm certain that rumour started with someone writing a blog with a theory that it will never see light of day because of contract disputes between Lego and Hasbro. Within days all the usual suspects were shouting from the roof that this was 100% cancelled because they had heard it from a mystery source. Its all a bit too much plumage shaking and strutting around here at times. Just sit back and enjoy the nonsense. -

I'd bypass the need to design everything in LDD and just play around with different ideas you have with the bricks you have at hand. They don't need to be the correct coloured bricks at this stage, they can be bought later once the design is finished. LDD can be great for presenting a final design but I find you often get very restricted creatively using it. Just playing around with bricks to experiment with different ideas can take you in directions you would never have considered as it's a more organic process. -
All sounds good and a well rounded set but expect to pay Death Star money for that many figures and rooms. If the rumour is true though, we should be getting some much needed updates to minifigs. Throw in an official Willrow Hood figure that will never be released again and it will increase the sets desirability even more.

I'm 100% certain that this set is being stockpiled by investors, most of which will be the johnny come lately types who read all the headlines about Lego being a better investment than gold. Even though I believe that gravy boat has long sailed. it's just really bad timing for real fans that want this set as we are seeing a new influx of investors plus the rise and ease in scalping on the internet. Those two factors have then contributed to fans buying up the scraps from Lego as they believe they will never be in stock, which then encourages scalpers to turn over more units as demand is there. The result being the lack of falcons being on the shelves. -

A hogwarts express you say. Be still my beating heart. i spend most my time in the Star Wars area but thought I'd pop in here following this great announcement. I can't believe people think this is unwhelming. If this was a star war set with TEN excellent minifigs along with a fantastic build of this size for £90 our brains would explode. -

Great build and great use of parts. The spanner piece is an excellent way to represent the cockpit tunnel. Sure, it would be better in LBG but this it's not an eye sore in dark grey. Maybe add a dark grey piece or two around the spanner so it blends in more. Are the exhaust ports on the Solo falcon grey? As those pieces come in black and may stand out more like they do on the later falcons. Love this build and will be reverse engineering my own version. Do I go white or grey though? -

Please do not steal from lego. Lying to them by saying a piece is missing is just hurting genuine customers who take advantage of the excellent customer service on offer. Abuse the system and it could easily be taken away. Cavegod should know better than telling people to do that. -

I really don't think sir Von Lego is trying to be mysterious or evasive. It can't be easy to see all those Lego sets, Star Wars and all and then try to recollect every detail from memory for very, very specific questions. Then having to do that in what I assume Is his second language can't help either. If he then decides to be a bit playful with his replies, then so be it. -

I'm pretty sure the brickshow recycle rumours/info that has gained traction over time. I never really got on with their channel as something just feels a bit off about them. The type of guys that would receive sets from Lego then put them onto eBay. I've only started checking rebelscum out the last month or so but they seem to post reliable info and dodge the more wish list type stuff. -

There has been talk of Lego extending the availability of the card into 2018 from people who have spoken to retail managers, however, there has been nothing official from Lego. To those who have ordered in the new year, it wouldn't harm calling customer service and asking nicely if it's extended given all the shortages. Just give them a friendly prod and remind them they dropped the ball on this one -

I think we can stop worrying about availability of the set now as restocking of both stores and online are becoming more frequent. I would suggest Lego could keep up with demand if the silly scalpers stop trying to rip off fans. Nobody should be buying from them as it just prolongs the official shortage. -

Did you generate the instructions like i described? The parts list is included. If you want the cost of the model, that part list in the instructions can be used by other sites like bricklink to extract the cost. May i suggest you head over to the LDD forum on this site and you use the search function to help you understand what the programme can do. Trust me, any questions you have will have been asked many times before and answered by folk a lot more skilled than me. Failing that you could just sit down for an evening and play around with LDD. That's how I learnt to use it as its fairly easy to get to grips with. -

Been a while since using LDD but try this. LDD comes with the instructions. Upper right corner of Building Guide Mode (F7), then upper left corner Generate HTML building guide. Open it via web browser with javascript on. From there, you can print it to PDF via Adobe Acrobat. -

Great detail for such a small scale and the way you incorporated the sweeping wings deserves a special mention. This is easily Christmas calendar worthy.

Bricklink is also useful for part identification. Select the bar element you would like to buy then simply select the drop down tab for other available colours. I'm never 100% each site is totally accurate or up to date so I use a combination of bricklink, brickset, brickowl and LDD to do a search but I may be a bit OCD. -

Not receiving a black VIP card that can't be used until next year is hardly the end of the world anyway. Like you say, Lego really need to get on top of this mess they created and start releasing sets to people who actually want to buy it. -

If you are going to get them all then Jabba's Palace first as that is an old set that had a bit of controversy surrounding it I remember correctly so may struggle to get a remake especially with a fishnet wearing dancer because it's Disney now. As for your Death star, remember, if it looks too good to be true it probably is. That's a purchase that's too risky to deal with all the hassle of getting the money back. -

It really depends what you're interested in, figures or vehicles? Jabba's Palace would be an instant buy if you like minifigures as it has an outstanding collection included plus the model is really excellent too. The only problem with buying the palace is the sudden urge to buy the Rancor pit to go with it. As for the two ships, they never really struck me as wow vehicles I must have. In fact I took my U-wing apart for parts as it looked strangely proportioned and bulky. I'd say the Sandcrawler is a great price as Bricklink is showing around $300 without the shipping.
