LDD MOC Brick Hull for future project
Admiral of the Red replied to Brick Tamland's topic in Pirate MOCs
It's really not a bad looking ship at all, Tamland. The curve of the hull might need to be drawn out longer, but all in all I really like it! -
Fantastic color scheme; planks on the side look very realistic! Also, the sails look very cute, almost cartoonish
-
That telescope bell is super clever It seems to me that the sides of the ship are a bit low; wouldn't it be fairly easy to fall off in rough seas? Other than that, I'm liking your deck
-
I like the simplicity of the lines in the bow! I'm also building a green ship, and believe me, it looks just fine

Tutorial: Making Sails (the Vesta way)
Admiral of the Red replied to Admiral Croissant's topic in LEGO Pirates
yeah, sorry, i meant if it was some kind of thicker cotton but i guess even thin cotton can be ironed to get rid of all the little wrinkles that come with soaking -
they wouldnt look so "square" as admiral croissant said if you folded them in half length-wise; it works!
-
i love the interior details! that neat little spiral staircase, the keyboard, and the second level bed are awesome! great job! the sails look as if theyre catching the wind what material did you use for the rigging and sails, btw?

Thanks for the great guide! Where do you get your fabric from? is it a special weight cotton to stand up to the soaking? -
SET REVIEW: 4191 Captain's Cabin
Admiral of the Red replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Pirates
Great review, and really luscious pictures! Can't wait to get my hands on that globe... -
it might also be a good idea to put in technic axles in the centers of the 2x2x11 columns; if anything, theyll stave off the inevitable snapping of the masts during rigging getting the longer ones may be too expensive, so using a combination of short axles 4-8L should give some stability (assuming you use the columns with the pin holes)
-
fantastic! my favorite part is the brown arches for the base, for some weird reason
-
the curve of the hull is amazing; how was it done? from the smaller boat i see you have a continuous length of hull, but... how do you get the rectangular bricks to bend that way???
