Great looking figs. Great hall looks a bit flat but I'm sure it'll be better from the other side. New wand moulds are interesting but they look a lot longer and I doubt they'll look good in minifigure hands especially for short legged figs.

As I haven't updated this for a while, here is the revised list of most prominent missing characters ranked by screentime, book mentions and popularity. The list of "popular" characters was based on here: https://www.ranker.com/crowdranked-list/harry-potter-characters I've included the figures that have been released since I first made this list (in green), it's nice to see the progress! Unsurprisingly (as there is reference material), characters with the most screentime are the ones we're ticking off the quickest. Screentime Mins Book Mentions Popular Narcissa Malfoy 6.75 Percy Weasley 486 Narcissa Malfoy Barty Crouch Sr 5.25 Kreacher 312 Aberforth Dumbledore Percy Weasley 5 Bill Weasley 302 Bill Weasley Xenophilius Lovegood 5 Barty Crouch Sr 295 Poppy Pomfrey Fang 3.5 Ludo Bagman 246 Lee Jordan Rita Skeeter 3.5 Rita Skeeter 188 Charlie Weasley Scabior 3.5 Igor Karkaroff 165 Helena Ravenclaw Aberforth Dumbledore 3.5 Peeves 164 Regulus Black Igor Karkaroff 3.25 Winky 162 Kreacher Nigel 3 Poppy Pomfrey 156 Katie Bell Kreacher 3 Rufus Scrimgeor 153 Ariana Dumbledore Mundungus Fletcher 3 Mundungus Fletcher 147 Andromeda Tonks Bogrod 3 Angelina Johnson 135 Angelina Johnson Katie Bell 2.75 Xenophilius Lovegood 124 Winky Marge Dursely 2.75 Katie Bell 116 Ted Tonks Rufus Scrimgeor 2.5 Charlie Weasley 110 Albus Potter Cormac McLaggen 2.5 Lee Jordan 109 Alice Longbottom Blaise Zabini 2.5 Fang 105 Firenze Poppy Pomfrey 2.25 Ernie Macmillan 92 Arabella Figg Helena Ravenclaw 2.25 Narcissa Malfoy 89 Rose Weasley Scorpius Malfoy Peeves Xenophilius Lovegood James S Potter Gellert Grindelwald Frank Longbottom

Perhaps more unpopular opinion: I like both and think they can even look good together.

Great work! Very excited for Madam Malkin and the Flower vendor. It's already clear that LEGO are targeting diversity/inclusion with HP minifigs and this continues the trend with another unnamed character which "ticks a box". I don't have any issue with it but hope that it's in-keeping with the aesthetic of the films like McGonagall's wooden wheelchair from a deleted scene reading the daily prophet.

76435 Hogwarts Great Hall, 1732 pieces, $219.99 Really exciting, can't wait to see this. Hopefully some ghosts are included. 76440 Durmstrang Ship & Beauxbatons Carriage 1229 pieces, $139.99 Also very exciting although it continues the trend of grouping what could have been separate sets. Crouch/Karkaroff are a must with this one. 76439 Ollivanders & Madam Malkins, 744 pieces, $99.99 Another double where many will only want one half which is also a shame. Interested to see it though 76427 Buckbeak, 723 pieces, $59.99 I don't get anything this scale but still interested to see it. Would a Hagrid in teaching outfit be too hopeful an inclusion? 76433 Buildable Mandrake, 579 pieces, $59.99 Another one I'll not get but interested to see. 76431 Hogwarts Potions Class, 397 pieces, $37.99 This one oddly excites me as a throwback to one of the very first sets - possibly Bloody Baron inclusion? 76434 Aragog Forbidden Forest, 195 pieces, $14.99 I like that there are more affordable sets this year (like the ford anglia), neither appeal for me but nice to have the option for lower budgets. Assume this will be an expansion of the March release. Thanks @ArrowBricks for the list!

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

This is a great find, I think between the staff/beard/robe/pose/owl/furniture it's pretty safe to say this is the inspiration. I also found (a far less detailed) photo of this portrait but as far as I can tell neither of these are named. I'm really interested to see if we do get the names of the portraits, hopefully we do - otherwise it'll be a bit more of a shame to miss on portraits of named headmasters etc. Still a great inclusion imo and the designs are nice.

Don't know if it's been mentioned but the new small grey owl is surely Pigwidgeon. Light grey feathers with a white breast and orange eyes with a black brow.

Found an image of the portraits! https://falconbricks.com/news/lego-harry-potter-2024-sets-revealed/ Scroll to the bottom to see them all. It looks like there are 11 (unless there's still one kept secret). If I was to guess they would be: Top row: (Mystery tile,) Jocunda Sykes, Rowena Ravenclaw, unknown, Basil Fronsac, Sir Cadogan Bottom row: Helga Hufflepuff, Edessa Sakndenberg, Godric Gryffindor, unknown, Damara Doderidge, unknown

The printed Hagrid mittens on the fire place are a very nice inclusion.

The Ford Anglia, Hedwig and Forbidden Forest aren't for me (or many of us) but will have their different market and I appreciate that LEGO didn't put 1 or 2 new things in each to try to force further sales. As for the other 3, LEGO have nailed them with a nice return to more accurate representations. Hagrid's hut is perfect, great figs especially Hagrid, great Fang/Norbert, great build. 9/10 Boathouse is great, figs are appropriate, new recolour for Trevor is way more exciting than it should be! 7/10 Owlery is also great, 2 new owls is a treat and the figs are good. 8/10 I like the collectible portrait idea a lot too. EDIT: Just noticed that the cornish pixie has a new print.

Another fig with a dual head for two more death eaters (ideally named properly!) would be great.

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

For anyone interested, after far too much digging I think I have been able to identify the masks of the death eater in the Gringotts set. The masks can be seen well in this review on youtube at 1:10 An interview with the designers referenced that the death eater could be Lucius or Bellatrix. However, a quick bit of googling makes it clear that the masks of Bellatrix and Lucius are in the top row (left and middle) of the below image. The masks on the minifigure head are instead undoubtedly based on two of the masks in the second row, (second from the left and furthest to the right). These are easily identifiable from the distinctive mouth styles and patterning. I found two further images of these death eaters including some of their robes which are also unique. Thankfully, someone has already identified the first of these to be Walden Macnair (images at the bottom show that the robes match the mask to the actor playing Macnair): https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Talk:Walden_Macnair The second mask is seen here: A similar image can be found on the wiki page for Yaxley, although it is not his mask (scroll to relationship with death eaters): https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Corban_Yaxley These robes are the same as those worn by Antonin Dolohov, shown here: https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Antonin_Dolohov And less clearly but still just about identifiably here: In conclusion, I'm pretty confident that it's our second version of Macnair and first Dolohov - which is pretty exciting, at least in my opinion!

Theory time: the new (I believe) dome piece used for the buildable minifigure cap (set 40649) seems about the right size for Gringotts, can we expect a sand green recolour?

Lee Jordan should have mid legs (and probably a more mature facial expression as these are less childlike normally for 3rd year onwards). And I believe Romilda should also have mid legs as she would be in 4th year in the HBP in which the WWW set is based.

    Doctor Who General Discussion

A CMF would really be the best LEGO offering for Doctor Who.
