LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
GeoBrick replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Mmm. Doesn't sound Blacktron at all. -
Beautiful tower. And a pretty ramshackle shed, with an interesting palissade as background. The tower reminds me of the one in the Rivendell set with the angles and use of rounded elements, but you used a different technique from what I can see. I could just see a telescope peeping out of the roof of the tower. It looks perfect for such.

And there's a white babynaut in it... -
I'd say let the Islanders have some fun. Not much chance for such to happen though.

Interesting color choice with the Mario boat pieces. It goes nicely with the black and touches of dark red. I could almost see your ship as a galleon-type of vessel. It only lacks the ports below the cannon deck for a line of rowing oars.

[MOC] 64 gun 3rd rate ship of the line. The lobster
GeoBrick replied to berninhr's topic in Pirate MOCs
She's a beauty. And the additional pictures answered my thought if the entire hull was build up from LEGO boat pieces. Appearantly only on the bow. Perhaps the only thing that feels a little out of bound with the smoothness of the ship's shape are the dark red pieces on the galleon (before the forecastle). This sections looks blocky in comparison. -

So you keep sayin'. I go out on the premise that the set which comes out first had the new mould budgeted in. -

Only one of the envelopes. The other two have a lion -and falcon stamp (as far as I can see). -

Perhaps that's because the new door in MTS was in its budget? -
Of course you can. And arrr a nice mod it is!

So if there would be an Avatar-tall Sauron, shouldn't a (hypothetical) Nazgul have the same size?
-
Marvelously done. I like the "ramp down, buggy out" feature of the pilot's cockpit. And that's a sweet manipulator suit on the last pic.

Outpost? Looks more a stronghold to me. ;) Joking aside, your landscape is coming along nicely. Alot of beautiful detailing both inside and outside the... ahem... outpost. I think I like best the use of those black 1x3 slopes with a rounded tile on bottom on the wall detailing. Indoors, well, I can't decide which of the four rooms I like the least. They all have something going for them.

True that. Even the Mountain Fortress didn't cost four 3in1 castles.

Just came back from purchasing the MTS in the nearest LEGO Store. Box is indeed smaller then I expected of a set this size. And the set was on display in the store. It looked adorable. -

They are indeed nice little builds. I think the rocket transporter is my favorite, as it is the more versatile build. As for stickers, I mosttimes put the brick on a separator, pick up the sticker on one of the edges of a small knife, and apply one side of the sticker on the brick holding the knife and separator in my hands. This way I can still remove the sticker from the brick if it isn't alligned well enough. Takes a couple of tries to apply the sticker, but since I can always pull it back that doesn't matter in most cases. -

My order last week did. And the GWP arrived in its own small box. -
I can only hope "their own take" on a castle would involve another fiefdom like the black knights. The minifigs there were kinda unique in that they didn't use a clear sigil on their torso's, making them usable for other factions if you discarded the shields. And the color scheme of their castle back in the day was just so good.

Incidentally, it is a nice-looking scene...

Now that's a nice idea.

Thanks for the link. Haven't read the whole article yet, but sofar only disagree with part of their sticker remark: I feel the window shutters could have warranted a printed tile. For the rest, no complains.
